  • Weight of a 6 month old baby?

My nephew is 6 months old and weighs 30 pounds (he weighs 13.25 kilos) and wears size 2 clothes. His parents feed him every time he cries and will quite happily feed him a bottle every hour or so, or a jar of baby food, as long as it keeps him happy. should we be concerned that he's so large? he also seems to take quite shallow breaths.

  • Lyrics in christmas carol the first Noel?

in the carol "the first noel" there is the line "was to certain poor shepherds in fields where they lay". for the years i've sung it i've thought the word "certain" to mean "encourage, embolden, reassure". is this the correct meaning, or does it simply mean "particular"? (as in, was to "particular" shepherds in fields...)

    cheers.

  • do you know what this book is called?

I remember reading it (or being read it..) in the early 90's, and it was about a puppy who wanted a boy for christmas, i don't remember much, but in the puppy ends up at an orphanage for boys and he finds a boy to look after him (i think its christmas orientated too.)

  • possibly ringworm?

I have what looks like ringworm on the lower leg, about half way down and on the side of the leg. its about the size of a quarter and is red and itchy, and it weeps if i scratch it. i have fairly dry skin, and this rash/ringworm thing comes back every year at the start of winter (so around may (i live in the southern hemisphere, so its winter now)) and lasts for a few months. i am seeing a doctor about it tomorrow, but ive gotten in every year for about 5 years now. I'm 21.

  • teaching old cat new tricks?

hi.. we moved house on the weekend and brought our two cats with us, one "adventurous" cat and one "timid" cat. we've been told to keep them in the house for a while, so they get used to it before we let them outside, this means having to use a litter tray, which they're never done before since we used to have a cat flap. we've tried taking them outside (because after 4 days neither of them used the litter tray OR the floor...and we were getting concerned they may really need to go..) and the timid cat was fie, she went out, did her business and came inside, but our supposedly "adventurous cat" is really frightened of going out of the house, he won't go out by himself, even when being offered his favourite food, steamed chicken, and if we carry him out he puts his claws out and scratches at the door to get back in. is there anyway of teaching him how to use the litter tray or that going outside is ok...i'm worried he must be busting to go to the toilet! =) cheers

  • What makes YOU healthy?

I'm a nutrition student and was thinking about individual ideas on "health" and was wondering (nutrition or otherwise) what do you do that makes you feel/think/know you are healthy. it could be drinking 2 litres of water a day, exersizing, eating your fruit and veg, having a multivitamin or eating a clove of garlic, theres no "right or wrong" answer, i'm just interested in what poeple think makes them "healthy".

  • What is the cheapest way to travel from Flagstaff AZ to NYC?

Hi! I'm travelling from Flagstaff Arizona to New York City some time before christmas (ie, between the 16th and 22nd dec) dates are semi flexible. The trip is one way, as from NYC i'll be going to LA, but as I'm from Aus, I'm clueless about the best way to travel. the cheapest way possible, and available either over the net or close to departure is best, i dont arrive in the states until the 8th of december. thanks
