  • Stamped Concrete finishing?

Last week I had my driveway poured and stamped (3000ft2) in various areas the finish is not smooth it's rough and the aggregate is showing. I watched them do most of the pour and the seemed to use a mag and steel to do the finishing before the stamp. What could cause this? Is there a repair? What are the long term consequences? thanks

  • Can you help me calculate my mark?

Hi, I suck at math but was hoping someone could help me calculate this:

75% on paper 1 - worth 7.5% of final mark

75% on paper 2 - worth 7.5% of final mark

75% on test 1 - worth 15% of final mark

79% on test 2 - worth 15% of final mark

87% on term paper - worth 20% of final mark

Ok and then say 40% on final - worth 35% of final mark.

Can someone please figure out what my overall percentage will be will those marks. Thank you.

  • Interesting Paper Topic?

    Hello,

I have to write a research paper relating to paleoanthropology and I am looking for some interesting topics that are currently up for debate in the field, or just something I can form a hypothesis about. I was thinking of writing on whether erectus and ergaster should be considered two different species or just one. Another possible topic could be the Out of Africa model vs. Multi-regional. Or if Neanderthals had complex modern human-like behaviour. Also whether chimpanzees should be used as a behaviour model for early hominins.

Any other suggestions would help, preferably something that has a bit of research done on it as I need to use acedemic sources. Thanks.

  • When did I sign this contract with God?

So Jesus died for our sins, and now I must ask for forgiveness in order to be saved? I don't remember asking him to do this for me, and it seems I unwillingly formed a contract with him. If I don't follow through, I will face a horrible consequence. So what choice do I really have?

It's like someone going into your house without your consent, cleaning it, and then asking you to pay the bill or else they will burn your house down.

    Thoughts?

  • Should we change the name "Adam's apple" to something more approppriate?

I am greatly offended by this term to describe the lump of cartilage in my throat. I think to be PC the name should be changed. Why does Christianity always have to force their religion upon me.

  • Why don't links work in questions or answers anymore?

I have just noticed that when people post links either in their answers or questions they are not clickable. Before they were blue and you could click on them, but now they just appear as normal text. Did YA change their rules, can links not be posted anymore, or what's going on?

  • So Bible is the most printed book in history?

Don't you feel bad and guilty when you know that your religion is responsible for cutting down more trees and destroying the environment more than any other book?

  • Is time the only difference between Christianity and Scientology?

Everyone bashes scientology, mainly because it seems so illogical. I think the reason for this is because it was only created a short time ago, and people know its origins and creator. Think if Christianity and the Bible were created 40 years ago and scientology was now over 2000 years old. Do you really think Christianity would be taken seriously? I think Scientology, being so old, would be an acceptable belief, while people would call Christianity a cult. Opinions?

  • What great atrocities can be attributed to atheism?

And don't say Hilter or Stalin. Hilter was not an atheist and Stalin's actions were not due to his atheism, but his communist politicall agenda. So basically I want to know if any mass deaths or whatever can be linked directly to atheism. I can't think of any that are, but I can think of ones linked directly to religions.

  • Does this make sense (About the eternity of God)?

Ok I am an Atheist but I'm assuming a God does exist for this.

    God has to be enternal, or else there would need to be an infinite number of creators for an infinite amount of time creating new Gods. So now that the fact that God is infinite is established let me say this;

This means that God had been sitting around for an infinite amount of time before he created the universe. Now is this even possible? I seem to think that the time of our creation would never come, since the infinite amount of time before could never come to an end and never have a beginning. Say just one day he created our universe, now before this, an infinite amount of time had passed, this seems impossible since during this infinite amount of time God wouldn't reach a time to make the universe.

Doesn't think prove that God is finite and then doesn't exist?

Now that's probably very confusing haha, and I may just be confused. Does it make any sense at all?

  • xbox 360 using VMD discs to compete with PS3 and Bluray?

With the PS3 using blu-ray and games getting larger and larger do you think microsoft will start using VMD discs? HD-DVD would require a whole new drive for each xbox which isn't going to happen. For VMD, I don't know what would be required to make them play, but since they still use the red laser maybe just a firmware update or something? I know I will hate it if games start getting put over multiple discs, like GTA IV is suppose to be. Do you think VMDs would work sometime in the future on the xbox?

  • Would this be a falcon chip?

My xbox 360 was manufactured on 2007 - 11 - 04. The team is CSON and the lot is 744. But the power supply on the box and on the power block are both 203W. I thought 203W was the old chips, but the other specs look like it should be a falcon.

  • If the universe is infinite, how can it be finite in age?

I don't quite understand how if the universe is believed to be around 14 billion years old, how could it be infinite. If it was infinite wouldn't that mean it would have no beginning or end. Or am I just missing the point. Can someone try to explain it to me.

  • Is this the cause of global warming?

Did you know that as the population of pirates has decreased, the amount of Carbon Dioxide has increased. Is this not proof that a lack of pirates has caused global warming? I mean there would be less engines with all the sail boats around.

  • Xbox 360 won't connect to xbox live through direct connect?

I just bought my xbox and I'm trying to connect to xbox live for the first time so I can get into the marketplace. I am trying a direct connect from my modem to the xbox. I have tried the ethernet cord that came with it, and 2 others but it will never connect. When I test the connection it says its the 'network adapter' that is 'disconnected'. The modem works because I can do a direct connect to my computer and get internet and the cable works. So I'm thinking its the port on the xbox that is broken. Any suggestions?

  • Is an HDMI cord supplied with the Xbox 360 Pro or just the Elite?

Hi, I know the Elite comes with the HDMI cord, but does anyone know if the Pro comes with the cord also? Because those cords are like $70, so there would virtually be no difference between the prices of the Pro and Elite if it didn't.

  • How will the Xbox 360 compete with the PS3 in a few years?

By that time game developers will have the PS3 figured out and will be taking full advantage of the bluray discs. How will the Xbox compete in terms of length of the game and graphics if they are still stuck on dual layer dvds? I am trying to decide between buying an Xbox or a PS3, and as of now I'm leaning towards an Xbox because of the better games, but I'm trying to think ahead and I think PS3 will be creating much better games in the future with better graphics and much larger games. What do you think?
