Do you want to get married? Why/why not?
Why do/don't you want to get married? Is it tradition, the ultimate evidence of someone's love, something people are expected to do, your big dream since childhood? Or do you think it's unnecessary, confiding, too monogamous, a burden? Most people I've talked to do want to get married, but I'm honestly more interested in the WHY rather than the yes or no.
I personally have no interest in it. If anything, I think it'd just be kind of bothersome and a waste of money. The stress from all of that planning and such would be awful, so IF I were to ever get married I'd either let the man do all the planning or make it extremely simple. A lot of people, especially girls, dream of their "big day" from a very young age, but I've never seen the appeal of it. We can have a great relationship without signing papers. The only advantages are some legal stuff, but that could also be an issue if the relationship ever did end. I'm not up for the whole ceremony and all, not to mention the party afterwards where I, an extreme introvert, would get exhausted very quickly and end up sitting in the bathroom with my cellphone - on my own wedding day! No, thanks.
5 AnswersPolls & Surveys5 years agoWhat's your opinion on having kids, and why?
Do you want them or not? What do you think about others, should couples in general have kids, or maybe you think we shouldn't contribute to the overpopulation? Please write as extensively as possible and explain your opinions, I'm very interested in this. Would be a plus if you would mention your age and gender, but not a necessity.
(You don't have to read the following if you don't care about my opinion)
Personally, I'm a female who doesn't want children. People keep telling me I'll change my mind, but I'm quite sure I won't. I don't have anything against children, in fact I kind of like them and I'm one of those people who squeal over babies, but I don't want to have them full time and literally dedicate my life to them. I couldn't love them unconditionally (blood bands have no meaning to me, I only like people if they have an appealing personality) and I think all children deserve to be loved. And if I don't like my child, I'm stuck with it anyway. Parenthood is such a huge choice, and virtually irrevocable. You can't exactly have a child and then decide years later that this wasn't really your thing, no, you have to house and feed them until they're at least 18 and even after that you'll still not be completely rid of them. It takes up so much time and money, it's a lifetime commitment and practically an unpaid full time job. It's not a lifestyle I'm interested in, I'd rather spend my time and money on myself and my future boyfriend.
5 AnswersPolls & Surveys5 years agoHow to pace story/write "fillers"/not rush the plot?
I put "fillers" within quotation marks because I'm aware that one should never write fillers, but I couldn't figure out any better word. Allow me to explain what I'm asking about.
I'm writing a story (obviously), and I'm having trouble with not rushing it too much. Basically, what happens is that I can't make time pass between important events. To illustrate what I mean, imagine that there is one paragraph in which the protagonist breaks into an empty house and steals stuff. (Okay, so this hypothetical protagonist isn't a "hero") Then it'd be pretty odd to make the next paragraph about them sitting in the police station, because it should probably take a few days, or at least hours, before the police has managed to catch them. My problem is that I can't make that time in between those two scenes pass. As I said, one should never write fillers, so I need to fill it out with important stuff instead of adding five pages of wandering around and observing the clouds, if you understand what I mean?
My thought is that I might add some subplot to make the time pass without being an empty filler. It could be useful for character development, comic relief, background information or something like that. But then, how does one add that subplot without it looking like a filler? How does one add character development without it being an obvious (and clumsily written) way to make the time pass? I keep having this problem over and over!
2 AnswersBooks & Authors6 years agoBypass admin password requirement?
Is there a way to bypass the admin password requirement thing which pops up when attempting to install/download something? I use a shared computer (with Windows 8, 64 bit, if that's relevant) and don't have admin rights so I basically can't install anything. The thing is, the admin is rarely available and often won't even enter the password (even though I'm not installing/downloading anything bad, it's like... The Sims and photo editing programs). I doubt there are ways to install things without entering the password, but perhaps there are ways to grand myself admin rights or find the admin's password stored in the computer?
Yes, this probably sounds bad, but it's really bothersome and I want to just be able to download things freely like I could on our previous computer (where I had managed to give myself admin rights).
2 AnswersSecurity6 years agoAny tips for writing subtext?
I'm sorry if that's not the correct word (English is not my native language), but what I mean is to hint at things without actually stating them, so that the reader kind of has to figure it out and/or it's open for interpretation. For instance, a character has a crush on another character but it's never explicitly stated or even as clear as "her heart fluttered when she saw him in the distance", I mean like really subtle. I'm not very good at this, I usually write things exactly like they are or make it way too obvious (like in the example above) so are there any good ways to drop subtle hints - not necessarily about a character having a crush, that was just an example - so that things are open for interpretation or has to be figured out by the reader?
Again, I apologize if I'm not using the word properly and if there are grammatical errors in my text!
2 AnswersWords & Wordplay6 years agoWhat does the movie title "Saw" mean?
I'm not asking because of a lack of English skills or anything (I could just use Google Translate in that case), but does the movie title "Saw" mean saw as in the tool, or saw as in past tense of see? It's been bugging me a lot since someone brought it up! I've always thought of it as the past tense of see, but now I'm not sure.
I would also like to add that I haven't watched the movies, so if there is something in them which should make it obvious, don't blame me for being "stupid". I have a problem with even moderate amounts of gore so I didn't really want to watch them just to find out.
5 AnswersMovies6 years agoWhich movie is this gif from?
I randomly came across this gif online today. Yes, it might be a bit strange... But I think it is from a movie I watched a couple of years ago. It was late at night and I didn't see the beginning of it because I was flipping through channels so I don't know what the name is or even remember much of the plot - this specific line stuck with me though because I recall it was rather strange. Does anyone know which movie it is? It's been bugging me that I can't figure it out!

3 AnswersMovies6 years agoHow do I pronounce Bible passages?
Long story short, I will be talking about religion but I've only ever discussed it online before so I don't know how you actually say the names of Bible passages. How does one say for instance "1 Timothy 2:12" or "Genesis 19:30-38"?
5 AnswersReligion & Spirituality6 years agoHow do I write "fillers", or more like a subplot?
I'm writing this story (for personal entertainment only, I don't intend on letting other people read it) but I have a problem with the story progression. I have the basic idea of the story planned out, but it all happens far too quickly which makes it really unrealistic and intense! How do I write a good, well I guess "subplot" is the best word, to make things happen in between the most important scenes? I'd rather not call them "fillers", as that would imply they're of no importance to the story and that's just crap, but I need things to happen or else it will feel like everything in the story happens within a day or so. Just skipping ahead by writing things like "The next morning when she woke up..." and things like that works every now and then, sure, but it still gets too intense and everything happens to quickly. So are there any good ways to add some character development and such, maybe just a paragraph or so, in between the main points of the story?
Thanks in advance, and please bear with my English skills (or lack thereof), it's not my native language.
2 AnswersBooks & Authors6 years agoQuestions about God (for religious people)?
How does your God work, exactly? If God exists, why are there bad things in the world? Let me explain...
If God is creator of everything, that means he created bad things as well as good things. Sure, there's free will, but he programmed humans so why did he make some of them want to for instance rape people? He could have not done that and still let us have free will.
Could God have created a world without bad things? If he could, why didn't he? If he couldn't, doesn't that mean he's not all powerful?
Why does God need to "test" us to see if we can get into heaven? If he's omniscient, he already knows whether or not we'll make it, so isn't it kind of unnecessary?
Some of you say Satan is the reason there are bad things, but didn't God create Satan? And if God is all powerful, that obviously means he can defeat Satan, doesn't it?
God, assuming he is all knowing and all powerful and all of those things, has the ability to make every single human happy and healthy, he could stop all suffering, and he already knows if we'll fail our "tests" or not. So why does he still make people suffer, why does he allow bad things to happen, why did he create those bad things in the first place? Is he just a sadistic little piece of garbage after all?
14 AnswersReligion & Spirituality6 years agoHow do I apply lipstick to inner part of bottom lip and make it stay?
I have this really big problem: I really love lipstick, but I can't wear it because that wet inner part of my bottom lip extends a little bit further out than I think is normal (I have really full lips which may be the reason), and it's basically impossible to apply lipstick there, and if I do get it there it comes off within minutes. Since I prefer dark lipsticks - I'm talking blood red or black - this looks really bad, even with my mouth closed there is a visible (although) thin line of pink lip color! As you probably understand, this is VERY visible as soon as I open my mouth to talk or such. Is there any way to make lipstick stay on there? I'd prefer a technique rather than lipstick recommendations, as I rarely find the colors I like in mainstream brands. I heard somewhere that for black lipstick you could use gel eyeliner underneath it to make it last and stick to that part of the lip, does that work? And if so, which gel eyeliner is the best?
Thanks in advance!
Makeup6 years agoHow long is Paradise Lost?
As in aproximately how many pages could I expect it to be? I've been wanting to buy it but all the ones I find have 380-480 pages (and are very cheap) and I thought it was a very long "story" so perhaps those are not the full versions? I wouldn't want to buy a book only to realize it's not the one I was going for :/ Obviously it depends on the size of the papers, size of the text etc, but in rough numbers, how long should it be to be the correct one?
4 AnswersBooks & Authors6 years agoHow gory is American Horror Story?
I mean as in flesh wounds, disembodied limbs etc. Just the red liquid is fine but not wounds and loose fingers and such. IMDb says it's really gory but people often say it's not so which is true? I REALLY can't take gore (it's an intense phobia of mine, I hape hysteric panic attacks) but the show seems really good!
Would be nice if you could compare it to something for reference so I know how much you mean by for instance "not too much". Oddly enough I'm fine with hospital series - I looove House - which I suppose is because nothing is really broken and instead all fine and under control during surgeries.... But Grey's Anatomy can be a bit too gross at times. So any comparisons would be nice!
1 AnswerBooks & Authors7 years agoHow to find movies by content/theme?
Are there any good websites where I can enter a couple of things I like (ex. romance, psychology etc) to find movies I may like? I did find a search engine like that for anime, but can't find any for live action movies :/
Here's the anime one:

1 AnswerMovies7 years agoFind where a picture was taken on Google Maps?
If I have a picture of a place, taken from a window or the street or something, is there any way to find it on Google Maps fast? Other than just looking at the few landmarks in the picture and then look all over the place to find it (ex. if I want to find a specific place in Warsaw, I don't want to look all over Warsaw to find it) Is this possible in any way? If not, how can I easily find it "manually"?
