For my 16th birthday, my mother hired Katherine Dejersey to do my chart and progressions. I'm in my 50s now and maybe I'm just getting nostalgic but I've been thinking a lot lately that I'd like to have another. I realize there are lots of software programs out there - is there one of them that's really exceptional? Aren't interpretations better when done by experienced practioners rather than by software? How would *you* go about finding some one or some program to do this?

I have a boat with 30 amp service. If I maxed out the power I was pulling from it for 24 hours, how many kilowatts would presumably be consumed? ...I'm also looking for the equation used, both with and without values inserted.

Bonus:

Any idea what, if the metered source was 100 feet from my boat's service panel, would be the effective maximum wattage I could pull, due to voltage drop and whatever else might be impeding the power?

I really enjoy yahoo spades and yahoo bridge, but both games seem to attract nuisance players....

eg, I was playing bridge just now and this idiot with no life jumps into games, bids 7NT, and then jumps out. S/He was doing this for at least the past hour....no playing, just bidding the max and leaving again. It's a total phisser for the rest of the room but you can't get rid of these yamyuks and they're always finding new ways to be annoying.

When one talks about the meat of fish or fowl, the name of the animal describes the meat...salmon, cod, chicken, duck.

However, pigs don't yield pig meat, they yield pork. Cows, beef. Deer, venison.

Why is that?

Have you ever gotten a positive response by asking somebody if they wanted to sell their out-of-state property? We're tired of renting, and I'm thinking of sending a letter to several people with property we consider attractive, asking them if they'd be interested in selling...most, but not all of them are not living around here. The ones who do live around here - should we mail or call them?

Any advice would be appreciated.

or an indication of how you feel using a continuum from 1 (they have no reason to bomb Lebanon) to 10 (Lebanon has been asking for it)...,

I'm interested in receiving as many replies as possible, to turn this into a sort of poll - not an accurate one of course, but perhaps as valid as the type of thing we see on the nightly entertainment shows sometimes known as "the news." I'll tally them when the question is resolved and post a short summary as part of my reply.

For whatever its worth, my minimum goal is to get over 100 replies. Ideally, it would be over 1000 but I have scant hopes for that....
