Y-Knot

Given y = x^2 + x - 2 , what is the y-intercept and the x-intercept?

I can find the x-intercept by substituting 0 (zero) for y and get x=2. However, if I put in 0 (zero) for y, I'm left with x^2 + x = 2. I can't seem to figure out how to get to the x value. Help!?!
