College educated, seminary trained and ordained Lutheran Pastor; now a witch. Yes, a tree-hugging, Goddess worshipping, herb growing, tarot reading, independent thinking and eclectically free witch. Been around the world a couple times, worked for the government and been on welfare. Gave eleven years of my life in uniform. Three ex-wives, six kids, married to a witch and helping to support her two teenagers. Life is good. Sex is good. Thinking and reasoning are good. Religion is an excuse to escape life, sex and reason. Life gets interesting at fifty.

  • What would you do? Find work or starve?

I am a 56 year old white male, the unemployable stereotype. I have many (11-1/2) years in the US military, I have worked as a civilian worked on the Nevada Nuclear Test Site doing underground testing in neutron experimentation, I have built Trident nuclear submarines for General Dynamics specializing in the strategic weapons delivery systems, I have worked for IBM, Medtronics and many other companies. I am out of work and my unemployment is ending. I cannot find employment.

Here is my question...if offered employment, even by a foreign country that the United States considers an enemy, in my position should I take that employment or should I sit at home and starve? I am coming to the end of my tether and I think even Gitmo would be better than starving on the streets of Minneapolis.

  • I have a US 1988 Quarter that is clearly an off center strike. Who can I go to to have this coin certified?

I found this coin in circulation...it would not work in a vending machine.

  • A good Republican presidential candidate?

I am a left-wing Democrat and member of Organizing for America... that said, I will vote for a Republican for President if Jan Brewer runs and the right-wing supports her platform of immigration control, and that right-wing includes the Tea Party. Perhaps Sheriff Joe as VP? What say you all?

  • Do males and females value the nude form differently?

Classical Greek, Roman, Hindu, Persian and Egyptian art valued the male and the female nude forms; that time seems to have long passed. Now, if you open almost any spam or website you will be confronted with images of nude females, in fact sites offering such venue are hidden behind simple topics and titles and one cannot avoid at least daily being confronted online with an over-developed female form in the nude.

My question is whether societal norms have so drastically changed that the female form is acceptable and the male form is taboo? Is it because the male libido is more active? Does the current offering of naked female flesh and the absence of naked male flesh reflect the value of women as property and playthings, while keeping men somehow above and separated from the female? Or is it because the values of women and men are so different?

I have seen women at Chippendale shows and I know that inside the female there is desire for the naked male form, but why is this desire so hidden? I have overheard the coffee break discussions that women have about men (mens' discussions are tame by comparison), so why is there such a major difference on the web?

I am interested in profession, religious and personal responses. I should mention that I am heterosexual and married and this is not a question meant to bring homosexuality to the board.

  • So, how did Jesus get blonde hair and blue eyes?

I can understand the genetics involved in a dark-haired, brown or green-eyed Jesus, even a black Jesus, but where are the supporting genes for the Jesus that is portrayed in many mainstream churches? Was the "holy ghost" a white guy in a sheet?

  • Biblical History/Interpretation Question?

According to the Bible, Adam and Eve were created in the Garden of Eden (unless you count Lilith, Adam's first wife who demanded equality and was cast out). Adam and Eve had two sons, Cain and Abel. Cain slew Abel. Then Cain 'knew' his wife and fathered a people.

If Eve is the only living female, did Cain sleep with his own mother to father a people?
