  • What's the worst fellow passenger behavior you've observed on an airplane?

On a recent flight, I had my seat kicked by a 7 or 8 year old child for 2 1/2 hours. Fun =) On the bright side, it was only a domestic flight and not one of the longer international flights (sometimes as long as 16 hours) that I have to take.

As a parent, I teach my children to be courteous to others. Why don't parents use these as opportunities to teach their children? I felt terrible, but I had to actually point out to the ignorant parents that their child was kicking my seat...and then I AM the bad guy.

In the grand scheme of things, this is fairly minor. So what's the worst fellow passenger behavior you've observed (or been subjected to) on an airplane?

  • What face type looks best (or worst) with facial hair/beard?

I keep my head shaven and I have (what I consider) to be a fairly plain face. Over the past few months, I've grown a beard on two separate occasions. I'm wondering whether I should keep the beard, or shave it.

Here's a recent pic of me with the beard, and an older pic of me without the beard! I figure I'll get honest assessments on here!

  • Running after a vasectomy?

I'm having a vasectomy performed in two weeks. For the runners out there, how soon after your procedure did you resume running (without puking)? I'm a 40 mile/week runner, and the thought of sitting around in compression shorts and ice packs for a week sounds rather dull!

  • What has been men's mental experiences after a vasectomy?

I'm having a vasectomy performed in two weeks. So for the men that have had the procedure...apart from the tension of having the procedure done, what has been your experience (mentally) after the procedure? Do you feel more or less the same? Do you feel any less of a man after it? Any change in sex drive? Thanks in advance.

  • Is this a normal pulse rate?

I'm 35 years old, in fair shape (Body Mass Index of 22, exercise is 35-40 miles of running per week). I just took my resting pulse, and it was 46 beats/minute. Sometimes it is as low as 40 beats/minute. I know I'm alive, but I'm concerned this is a little too low...

  • How do I keep bathroom plumbing clean?

In our master bathroom, we have "his and hers" sinks. For some reason, the her sink gets massive sludge buildup. It's so bad that it drains slowly (at best) and I need to disassemble the pipes under the sink to clean out the black sludge. What is this black sludge (it smells like sulfur, perhaps microbial growth when the pipes are opened), what causes it, and what's the best way to keep things flowing properly?

  • As a Pedestrian, what legal recourse do I have?

I've been running for a number of years now, without incident. Recently, I was nearly run down by a large vehicle that ran a stop sign (at about 20-25 mph in a neighborhood). To add insult to injury, the driver then proceeded to roll down their window and confront me for "being in their way" and told me "I needed psychological help" because I was upset that they nearly ran me down whilst running a stop sign (I guess I should be happy about it, lol?). The driver would not admit that they ran the stop sign, and essentially said that they will do the same thing from now on, and if I'm in their way, then they'll run me down. What legal recourse do I have? I'm in the state of Texas.

  • Running a marathon - foot discomfort and advice?

I've been training for a marathon that is two weeks from now. I've run 35-40 miles/week for several years now (pain free), and I ran 21 miles (3h05m) last weekend without any muscle pain, and I didn't hit "the wall". However, my right heel is sore (much more so today than it was yesterday or the day before). I'm wondering how best to handle this and what I should do in the last few weeks to prepare myself...the marathon is in Austin, which has a reputation for being "hilly".

  • What is the name of that song?

They played it at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh with 14:54 remaining on the clock in the 3rd quarter - just when the Ravens were starting their offensive drive and the Steelers fans were getting pumped up to defend.

No lyrics, just kind of like this...

"Da da da da dah, da da da da da da da da da da da da

    dum dum dum dum...dum dum"

Not much to go on, but hoping someone knows it.

  • What is causing this sensation in my inner left knee?

On my inner left knee (slightly to the upper side), I have a strange sensation that has been there - off an on - for about a week now. It's not terribly painful, almost like persistent tightness. I can move my knee normally and I can walk. I run almost daily, and ran the past couple mornings without any major pain - just the usual nagging pains. I'm not sure what to make of this, and I'm just wondering if anyone has had similar circumstances.

  • Toddler's table manners and parenting uniformity - how to resolve this?

My wife and I have two great children, including a toddler who will be 3 in September. I believe that it's important for children - even at this 'young' age to start learning about table manners and etiquette. Therefore, I insist that when he eats, that he eat sitting down in his chair at the table. He's not to eat standing up, so I correct him and tell him to sit in his chair when he doesn't. What irritates me is that when I correct him and tell him to sit at the table, that my spouse argues with me and tells me that I'm being too hard on him. Honestly, am I being too hard on him? Is this too much discipline to ask of a child his age?

  • What this rude, and what would *your* response have been?

While I was at a shoe store today, a young boy (7 or 8 years old) approached me and said "Dude....why don't you have any hair?"

First of all, I never called an adult "dude" while I was a child. Second, my parents would have torched me alive had I asked an adult such a rude question. Third, I was shocked that the parents did not do a single thing when I informed them of what their child had said.

  • When will Joel Osteen finally be exposed as a phony?

I can't believe it's 2008, and fools still hand over their money (nearly a hundred million dollars last year alone) to such a phony. As a Houstonian, I'm embarrassed to say that many of my fellow citizens attend his luxurious facility.

  • Why do many so-called "Evangelicals" of the southern United States reject basic fundamental science?

Why do many so-called "Evangelicals" of the southern United States reject basic fundamental science such as evolution, global warming and environmental stewardship while - at the same time - embrace very materialistic SUV's (which are derived from science and technology), pseudoscience such as "intelligent design", and the "wealth" mantra of Joel Osteen? Isn't it hypocritical for many of them to reject basic fundamental science, yet at the same time, cherry pick which aspects of science they "like"?

  • Do you think it's unhealthy for a "democracy" to potentially have two family rule for 28 consecutive years?

If Hillary Clinton were to win the Presidency for two terms, this would mean 28 years of Bush-Clinton rule in the United States (1988-1992 George H.W. Bush, 1992-2000 Bill Clinton, 2000-2008 George W Bush, 2008-2016 Hillary Clinton (?)).

I don't want to hear attacks on either Bush or Clinton, but what I want to hear is a discussion of whether this is truly healthy for a "democracy" such as the United States.

  • Am I the only person who finds this annoying?

...an overweight man who insists on telling everyone about his latest running and marathon exploits. The chap looks about 50 pounds overweight. The body mass index doesn't lie!

  • What do people think of the Sidekick data plan offered by TMobile?

It says that it is $30/month for unlimited web, email, IM. You can buy one of the sidekick phones for $50, so it seems like a decent deal if you want to get unrestricted access to the internet when you're unable to (work, travel, etc.) and really don't care for the phone feature. What are people's thoughts on this plan?
