If adults come from babies, why are there still babies?
Aging is just a theory. It hasn't been proven.
8 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhen I looked at my odometer last night it was 118966.6. Is this unlucky?
Seriously! How unlucky is that??? 118966.6! That's almost 190,000 miles! My car surely can't live much longer! That number means it's pushing 200K miles. I HAVE to be in for expensive repairs soon!
5 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoAtheists, what's your favorite Bible verse and why?
I just realized that I have a favorite Bible verse. It's 1 Corinthians 11:1-16. It is my favorite because that is the one where I discovered once and for all that my old church was wrong, that the Bible said nothing like what they claimed and that some of their core beliefs were based on a misunderstanding of what the Bible says. It's the passage that taught me that when a Christian says, "The Bible says..." what he sometimes means is "I was told the Bible says...".
So, atheists, do you have a favorite Bible verse? One that lead to your atheistic realization or just one that amuses you?
25 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhy do some Christians ask questions of atheists, but block atheist answers? Too insecure for thee answers?
Obviously I am not talking to the ones who have not blocked me. I'm talking about the insecure ones. I actually like some of you guys, believe it or not.
12 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhat reason do creationists and ID proponents think scientists have for disputing creationism and ID?
First, Intelligent Design and creationism are basically the same thing in different packages and both are religious views. In fact, both are undeniably distinctly Christian views. While some may argue that ID says nothing about creation it does imply a god. If that god designed, he must have created. While others may argue that ID does not say WHO designed everything you will find this "theory" only on Christian web sites and being delivered only by people who use it in an attempt to prove the validity of the Christian God. ID does not mention Christianity, but ID is a product of Christianity and is supported only by Christianity. While there are a few scientists who back these ideas, every single one of them is Christian. These ARE uniquely Christian ideas, backed and supported only by Christians.
Now, there are different versions of creationism. There are two main categories and some sub categories under those. There are Old Earth creationists and Young Earth creationists. Like any Christian viewpoint each one claims it is the "one truth" and that all others are wrong. I really don't care which one you are. There are some versions of creationism which do not make the claim that any given science is wrong. I don't need to hear from you. Who I want to hear from is the anti-evolutionists and the Young Earthers. And here is what I want to know:
What reason do you believe scientists have for supporting theories which are so obviously wrong to you? What do you think they have to gain? If your understanding of the truth as you see it is so obvious, why do these scientists not accept it? I do not want to hear that "they" are not "open for debate". EVERYTHING in science is open for debate and to claim otherwise is a cop out which really means, "My ideas are so stupid that nobody will hear them." I want to know WHY you think science rejects what you believe.
