What reason do creationists and ID proponents think scientists have for disputing creationism and ID?

First, Intelligent Design and creationism are basically the same thing in different packages and both are religious views. In fact, both are undeniably distinctly Christian views. While some may argue that ID says nothing about creation it does imply a god. If that god designed, he must have created. While others may argue that ID does not say WHO designed everything you will find this "theory" only on Christian web sites and being delivered only by people who use it in an attempt to prove the validity of the Christian God. ID does not mention Christianity, but ID is a product of Christianity and is supported only by Christianity. While there are a few scientists who back these ideas, every single one of them is Christian. These ARE uniquely Christian ideas, backed and supported only by Christians.

Now, there are different versions of creationism. There are two main categories and some sub categories under those. There are Old Earth creationists and Young Earth creationists. Like any Christian viewpoint each one claims it is the "one truth" and that all others are wrong. I really don't care which one you are. There are some versions of creationism which do not make the claim that any given science is wrong. I don't need to hear from you. Who I want to hear from is the anti-evolutionists and the Young Earthers. And here is what I want to know:

What reason do you believe scientists have for supporting theories which are so obviously wrong to you? What do you think they have to gain? If your understanding of the truth as you see it is so obvious, why do these scientists not accept it? I do not want to hear that "they" are not "open for debate". EVERYTHING in science is open for debate and to claim otherwise is a cop out which really means, "My ideas are so stupid that nobody will hear them." I want to know WHY you think science rejects what you believe.

Update:

Bear, if you don't have an answer, please don't answer. This is my own words, not a copy and paste. I got the idea for this question after reading the 139 page decision on Kitzmiller v. Dover, which directly relates to my question. It's easy to chastise. It's not so easy to come up with an intelligent answer. I see you chose the easy way out.

Update 2:

Ernest, I assume you're being sarcastic as that really doesn't answer anything.

Update 3:

Joel - Thank you for the first honest answer, but you are wrong. There are many scientists who are Christian and still support every science. There are Christian scientists that do not have a problem with a 13-14 billion year old universe, a 4.5 billion year old earth and evolution. They believe in God, so why don't THEY see the evidence which is supposed to be so obvious?

Update 4:

Clubdela, I think you misunderstood the question. At no point did I say anyone who believed in evolution was not Christian. My question was directed specifically at Christians who did not believe in evolution. I did not suggests scientists could not be Christian.

Update 5:

Johnnydangerously59, nice effort, but that really didn't answer anything. As I pointed out, there are Christian scientists who do not back ID or any version of creationism which denies any science.

What I'm really looking for here is this: Supporters of ID and creationism claim they are scientific. If they are scientific, why do scientists not accept them? What is believed to be the reason that scientists, even Christian scientists, do not accept these theories, if they are scientific as is claimed.

Update 6:

It's quite clear that I am not going to get an answer to this because either Christians do not know or they are afraid to tell me what they think. I will ask this the next time the JWs come knocking and watch them dance around the issue in person, which is at least briefly amusing.

I don't buy into ID or creationism, but I think IDers/creationists argue the following, in decreasing levels of sophistication:

    1) Consideration should be given to the possibility of a naturalistic designer, maybe ET, but certain systems in organisms are irreducibly complex, and science simply is unaware of the procedures used to detect design in biological systems.

    2) Science has been hijacked by materialism, and has entirely ignored non-materialistic and non-reductionist possibilities. The bias is science is tremendous. While there is some evidence for evolution and Big bang, there is also much evidence against, and this should be made clear.

    3) Scientists are atheists that dislike the idea of God, and push evolution and Big Bang for religious, ideological and political reasons. There isn't any evidence for these theories.

    4) Scientists need to accept Jesus into their hearts, and let the Holy Spirit guide them. Then they'll see that evolution and Big Bang are deceptions of the devil. Scientists hate God, and they hate Jesus. But Jesus said he would be persecuted in the last days. (Insert mindless Bible verses that prove nothing).

In my life I have met many who are willfully ignorant about many things. They will do whatever it takes to just get attention or to be on the opposite side of many. Why they do it is beyond me. Look around at all the internet trolls. Why are they jerks to anonymous people that they will never meet? It gives them some hidden thrill to be a jerk.

I have met many people that will take an opposing view even if they know they are wrong and that everything proves they are wrong.

I have also met those that truly would deny God even if God Himself came down and showed them the creation event. They would just think they were losing their mind. Now this is not being scientific nor is it having an open mind.

There are some that are just pissed off at religion and are out to destroy it. I can't tell you why they deny what to me is so obvious anymore than you can tell me why some deny what you think is so obvious. To me it is like trying to describe the color blue to a man who has never seen. I just can't explain what I see and you don't.

I personally believe in God but shun all religion. I believe God did create everything since there is a uniformity and order to the universe. If there were no grand design, it would be completely chaotic. For every light there is a dark, bad there is a good, poison there is an antidote, yin, yang. If it were just a happenstance, you wouldn't see that. You would see a world out of balance and chaos would rule.

    1. The Big Bang theory was also a product of a Christian.

    2. The theory of Evolution was proposed by a Christian who attended church more than most Christians do (Yes, Darwin was a Christian and NO he did not refute his theory)

So your logic works against you.

"Young Earthers" only make up a small amount of Christians, Creationists, and ID'ers. Believing that a creator exists is NOT foolish at all. Why? We don't have a scientific theory that refutes it. None. Abiogenesis is a major flaw in Atheism, as many will admit. Well, the educated will. Deflecting to "It was bound to happen" is NOT evidence.

Source(s): Logic. Something not even Atheists like anymore.

You know what I think? I think that these scientists choose not to believe in a higher authority that they have to answer to in the end. Because of this, they try to find some explanation for the universe that does not involve God, and run with the best idea they happen to come up with--in this case the big bang.

People can hardly keep track of what happened a thousand years ago, and they claim to know for sure exactly what happened an unimaginable amount of time ago.

Scientists have nothing to dispute with ID Proponents. Because Creationists have absolutely NO evidence to support their claim that their God created everything.

Christians ought greater desirable to be employed contained in the coolest information of our author ...moving into our very footwear quite than installation a laboratory to coach Himself or draw evolutionary diagrams,.He certainly pointed out with our actual concerns and problems.very few human beings care approximately considering their navel, greater approximately their very very own happiness , secure practices and destiny. Lol. It's quite clear you know nothing about ID. What pro atheist site did you get this cut & paste off of anyways, or are you putting your own ignorance on display?

I'm not a big Dawkins fan, but that which is claimed without evidence can be dismissed without evidence.

    Their dishonesty.

The dishonesty of the scientist, that is.

The head always follows the heart and the heart that is sinful and opposed to God will find reasons to justify itself no matter how invalid.

They also ignore or conceal proofs against Evolution.

They like to self-importantly flatter themselves, If you are trying to sell someone a crock, you have to look respectable.

I like the way they always say "When we debate with atheists" if they came up to me I would say "get out of my face you freaking morons"
