What are some good tips for training an aggressive Chihuahua?
A friend of mine was recently given a Chihuahua puppy. It is a female, about 3-4 months old, and is very prone to biting in an aggressive manner. It is also very "independent", and often doesn't like to be picked up, patted, or played with. She has tried Cesar Milan's "Dog Whisperer" techniques, plus other tips in dog training books, but nothing has worked. A lot of those techniques just made the little dog madder! At this point she is about ready to give up! Is there any hope for a Chihuahua like that? And if so, what are some good techniques to break it of the biting, and turn it into a well behaved companion?
12 AnswersDogs1 decade agoHow do you clean kitty paw prints off antique furniture?
My little furry buddy has left a dull, grayish film all over the tops of my antique piano, sideboard, and china cabinet. I've tried using furniture polish, and even just plain water on a dampened rag - but it doesn't come off! I'm hesitant to use chemicals on antiques - got any suggestions?
5 AnswersCleaning & Laundry1 decade agoQuestion about an antique maple bed frame?
I was recently given a beautiful antique maple bed frame - with headboard and footboard. But the sides (where the mattress and box springs are held) are made of maple wood. We were guessing it might have been made in the 1950's or 60's - but a friend of mine who is an antiques dealer said it may be older than that. When did furniture companies stop using wood on the sides, and go to using metal? I'm wondering how old my piece might be. Thanks!
3 AnswersDecorating & Remodeling1 decade agoDoes anyone know about Pruttles - a German food?
I understand it is a combination of pork, beef, and oatmeal mixed with spices, salt and pepper - but would like to know more about the origins of this German dish. Some say it is akin to Scrapple - not sure about that.

3 AnswersOther - Diseases1 decade agoIs it true that a person with hypothyroidism (under active thyroid) cannot lose weight?
I have an under active thyroid, and would like to lose 70 pounds. But I have heard that this would be impossible. Is that true, or not? And if it isn't - what can a person in that situation do to lose weight?
I am taking thyroid medication, by the way.
Thanks!
21 AnswersDiet & Fitness1 decade agoWhat would cause a baby that did not "turn" before birth to have sinus problems all their life?
I have heard this from a doctor - and was wondering exactly how being in the wrong position at birth adversely affects the development of the sinuses, or causes the person to have sinus headaches, infections, etc. all their life. Thank you!
1 AnswerPregnancy1 decade agoUnexpected death of a loved one - what is the normal grief process like?
My dearest friend of 30 years died unexpectedly 2 weeks ago. We were like sisters. She was in excellent health - but suffered a stroke. I live in another state, and had not gotten to see her for a long time, and was unable to attend the funeral. What is the normal grief process like in a case like this - when death is completely unexpected? At first I felt like half my brain just "froze" - it was like mental paralysis for several hours. I could not even cry until the next day. Some days I can do all my normal activities - and some days my mind is all muddled. And right now all I feel is a heavy, dull ache in my heart, but no tears. I have lost 3 other people very close to me in the past 9 years (elderly family members who were ill, and their passing was somewhat expected) but somehow this loss seems quite different. Any suggestions for dealing with it? (I do have very supportive friends around here, which helps.) Thanks!

7 AnswersYahoo Answers1 decade agoIs the sulphur in MSM (a dietary supplement) the same as that in Metabisulfites (a food preservative)?
The reason I am asking is that I have joint problems, and would like to try taking the MSM supplement, but I am allergic to Metabisulfites (the preservative). I was just wondering if MSM contains elemental sulphur (found in all living things) and if Metabisulfites contain a different form of sulphur. Help!!
4 AnswersAlternative Medicine1 decade agoCan 35mm slides be made into prints or notecards??
I have tons of beautiful 35mm slides that my Dad, who was a professional photographer, took between 1940-1995. Is there a way to have them converted into prints suitable for framing? Also - is there a way to have these images made into notecards or stationery?

5 AnswersOther - Home & Garden1 decade agoHelp!! What can I do to keep my "days and nights" right??
I'm 51 years young - and this has been a problem my entire life! I'm never sleepy, and I tend to get my best, most creative ideas for work between 10 PM-2AM every night. That's also when I have lots of energy to accomplish stuff. It makes no difference when I drink caffeine, watch TV, work on the computer, exercise -or not. Dr. had me on Paxil for this a few years ago - that didn't help either. I usually go to sleep around 3-5 AM, and get up around 9-12 AM. But when I first awake, I never feel well-rested (until I've been up an hour or two.) I live in a farming community where everyone else is "up with the chickens and down with the sun" - so this creates lots of conflicts with my friends! Does anyone else out there have this problem, or am I just unique? What is it called? Anyone know of a good solution?
