  • Help me hold a ukulele?

I like to play the ukulele but I can never figure out how to hold it so that it won't slip between chords when I'm standing. I read about how you're supposed to secure it in the crook of your elbow and hold it with your forearm but I just don't get it. I read that if you lift up your fretting hand, if you're holding it correctly, it won't move and slip, holding it only with the strumming hand. Can somebody help me understand? I don't get how that's supposed to work.

  • Moving into new apartment with roommates- how will this work, financially?

Me and potentially three other people want to move in together in a couple of months. This will be my first time living outside of my parents' house. How does moving into an apartment work, financially? I know that you have to pay first month's and security deposit first. If I am sharing rent with three other people, does that mean we can all pitch in with the security? Or is there a separate security for each person living in the apartment? Any other information and tips will be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

  • Dropped phone into water, now screen won't work. Help?

My phone got dropped into water for only a second or two- I rescued it quickly- and I took the battery and SIM card out and let it air dry. Now it's been a few days and when I put the card and battery in and turn it on, the screen and buttons light up white, but no images appear on screen. The start-up music tones are choppy.

Have I ruined my phone forever?? I just got it maybe a month ago and I feel terrible for ruining it so quickly... just my luck! Anyway, any info you have will be greatly appreciated!!!!

  • Will painting my Ukulele affect the sound?

I recently acquired a second-hand home-made ukulele. It is quite plain. I wonder if I could jazz it up a little bit; splash some paint or throw some stickers on the body of it. If I do that will it affect the way it sounds?

  • Can I decorate my Uke?

Will decorating the body of my ukulele affect its sound? What about the other parts of it? (I'm excluding, you know, the fretboard and tuners)

  • Right kind of place for big sidewalk chalk picture?

I want to make a big sidewalk-chalk picture, someplace where there's not a lot of people. What is a good place to do that? Is it legal to sidewalk-chalk on a school property while school is out?

  • What is wrong with my breathing?

Lately it feels like I am not getting enough oxygen in my lungs. I don't know what asthma feels like and I've never been diagnosed with anything like that. My throat doesn't feel constricted. But I feel like I constantly need to take giant breaths or yawn just to get an adequate amount of air. I'm also trying to get into shape and when I go jogging it gets really annoying because of my breathing. Any ideas about what could be wrong and what I can do to fix it? Thanks in advance.

  • How to increase my general body temperature?

I am so cold all the time relative to the people around me. I say I'm just cold-blooded but is there any way to not make my friends cringe when I touch them? My hands are always like ice!

I'm not overweight but I'm not the healthiest/fittest person in the world either. Would it make a difference if I ran/worked out regularly??

  • Is it okay to have satin red strap heels with a simple cotton red dress?

I will be wearing a simple, knee-length darkish red wrap-style dress. There is a pair of shoes I'm thinking of borrowing from a friend which are satin and darkish red, with two straps across the toes and a strap around the ankle. About two-inch heels. would those shoes work with my dress? This is for a dance. And I'll likely be putting my shoes aside for the majority of the time anyway.

  • Are "Genuine" Scooters Chinese?

I was thinking of buying my friend's Genuine Buddy. It looked like a nice scooter. When I went to another place that sells new scooters to see other options, the guy there said that Genuines are Chinese and not the best quality. But I can't find anywhere on the internet that says they are chinese. Do you know for sure?

  • What kind of bug was this?

I found a super cool bug outside my front door the other day. It was cricket-like, with cricket legs but it was smaller and bright green and with loooooong antennas. It had wings and its body was long and flexible (it was cleaning itself and it completely folded itself in half to clean its back end). My mom said it was maybe a katydid. What do you think?
