I know everyone's probably tired of hearing these types of questions, but I'm 4 years older than this girl that I really like. She likes me too but she's worried about what everyone else will say. I don't mind being ridiculed by anybody as long as we can be together. I've told her before I won't try to force her to do things that she doesn't want to and she's said she believes me. Is 4 years really that much of a difference? I don't feel like it matters. She'll be 14 in a few months and I just turned 17. So I guess its really just 3 and a half years.

I've known her for a few years now. But we just started really talking in the past few months. We've been calling each other constantly. I think we spend at least 2 hours a day on the phone, and another 4 or 5 on messenger together. So there's no problem with communication. There is another problem though. She has a Boyfriend. She doesn't talk about him much and I try not to pry but when he sees us near each other he gives me some heated looks. It's not my fault he doesn't spend more time with her. He easily could but doesn't. When I see her sitting there alone I just can't help myself. I go to talk to her and he starts to look jealous.

I don't know if this is a sign or not, I'm pretty clueless sometimes, but she bought me a really cool necklace for Christmas and all her family members thought I was her bf because of it. Her parents seem to approve of me. Oh wow I'm not even sure if this is a question anymore. I guess I'm just venting right now. What do you guys think of this situation though?
