  • Army SWAG? When's it coming?

I completed my enlistment at MEPS last Thursday, but all I've gotten for free so far through the entire process is a chicken sandwich from the food court. I report for Future Soldier Orientation on Wednesday. Do I get my free stuff then? Seriously, I think I'm owed a backpack and some t-shirts by now.

  • Voluntary deployment through the Army Reserve?

I just signed a Reserve contract for 88N. After I get out of training, I was really considering a voluntary deployment in order to get a nice little bit of cash for myself when I come back. My main question is: do people in 88 series MOSs generally ever see combat in Iraq or Afghanistan? If not, would I have any choice for an overseas MOS other than 88N?

INB4: My SSG already warned me about deploying just for the money. I have my reasons.

  • Enlistment process taking too long?

I'm in the process of enlisting in the Army Reserve, but I'm worried about how long it's taking. I took the ASVAB a few weeks ago and scored 89 on the AFQT, then a week later I handed in all of my background info, identification papers, diploma, transcript, etc. This next Tuesday it will have been two weeks since I turned everything in, and I haven't heard anything back yet. I even sent an email this last Tuesday from work, but no response. Should I be worried?

  • Relating to Scrubs and ER...?

Does anyone whose parents DIDN'T watch shows like ER think that Scrubs is at least a decent show? I think there might be a correlation.

  • Library compatability?

I'm pretty baked right now, so I can't remember if programs written in one language can access and use libraries written in another language; like a executable written in C++ using a library written in C#. It's really bothering me.

  • Air force drug screening?

I'm going into the USAF pretty soon, but was wondering about drug screenings. Is one issued upon entrance, or are you just required to take one per year? Also, provided one is given during processing, I was looking at home screenings (just to make sure), but they only test at 50 ng/ml. From what I've heard, the military firsts tests at 50 ng/ml, then if that comes up positive, runs a more thorough test at 15 ng/ml. If I can pass a home test, should I sweat it?

    Please and thank you :)

  • Sexual intercourse/relations?

    Sexual intercourse/relations?

So, tomorrow I'm going to be picking my friend up from school. She is a female, I am a male. I'll be taking her home, then we plan on watching Happy Gilmore and both Airplane moves while putting as much of a dent as we possible can in five liters of beer. We're going to work out the next morning, so I'll just be crashing there to save gas and avoid driving after drinking alcohol. My question is, will tomorrow night lead to sexual intercourse?

  • Why don't Mac owners realize that they're complete tools?

I'm not hating on Apple, OS X, or your average user who barely knows the difference between OS X and Windows. What really annoys me is how *certain people* just can't seem to shut up about how awesome their overpriced hardware is even though it isn't capable of running a lot of the software that is available for other platforms. In my experience, the only advantage to a Mac (other than being able to fit it into a manila envelope) is that they are idiot-proof, hence perfect for these certain douche-bags.

If you prefer a Mac, then fine. But keep it to yourself, unless you can prove that you're actually more enlightened than the other 90% of us.

  • Thoughts on evolution/creationism?

    Which seems more plausible?

    1) Life on earth has slowly developed over billions of years, gradually becoming more and more complex as any deviation from a successful organism that was not fit for survival did not last, while successful deviations spawned improvements in the function of such organisms.

    2) The entire earth was created within a week's time by a divine entity that keeps trying to destroy it.
