  • New dog spay - recovery time?

I just got a dog from the SPCA, and she has been spayed within the past week. I'm also trying to crate train the dog and she's breaking out of the crate. One suggestion I've seen from the internet is to exercise the dog, but as I said above, she was recently spayed and I was told not to exercise her. So, I guess the question is how long, at a minimum, do I have to wait before taking this dog out for a run or playing with her to get some of this extra energy out of her system? My blinds can't take much more of this!

  • Why pay for DVR service?

I'm thinking about going into the 21st century and buying a DVR. Right now I use a VCR to record the shows I miss during the week, and it works just fine, but DVR seems to be better. First, how does it work, and second do you have to get some sort of monthly service for it to work? It doesn't make sense to me to pay for something monthly when my one-time VCR investment works just fine (but with tapes).

  • Halloween couples costume?

Well, it's that time of year again, to pick your halloween costume. I was recently married, and have previously been against doing the "couples" costume thing, mainly cause I like to do my own thing. But, this year, probably want to do a couples costume. I like more imaginative ideas, rather than the boring, traditional ones. Any ideas?

  • Best Man/Groomsman presents?

I'm getting married and would like some ideas for best man/groomsman presents. I've only been in one wedding myself, and was the best man there. I got a engraved stein, which is a neat gift, but I need some more and different ideas! Thanks

  • Corporate papers - where is the economy going?

I am trying to get a little education on how screwed up the economy is (presidents aside, some of our practices have been going on for almost 30 years) and wanted to know more about corporate papers and credit default swaps. Anyone have any useful links or "dummy" explanations?

  • Christmas wrapping suggestions?

I have in the past given gifts to my brother that are nearly impossible to open. For example, layers upon layers of duct tape with a thick layer of glue before getting to the actual gift. Another favorite is to encase the gift in a lockable box with combination locks and he has clues as to what the combination is.

Any suggestions to gift wrapping along these lines?

We've been exchanging this way for about 10 years, and I'm running out of ideas!

  • What type of camera to use?

I'm getting married next year and have a camera question. Lots of people use disposable cameras (film) to put on the reception tables to catch candid shots of the reception party. I was wondering if its worth looking into disposable digital cameras or even keychain cameras as an alternative to having lots of photographs instead of digital pictures. I'm looking for price alternatives, film prices, and maybe other photo suggestions??? Thanks in advance.

  • PS3 system with PS2 guitar hero?

I've read some of the questions related to this, but couldn't find a good answer. I recently bought a 60gb PS3 and have guitar hero 2 and 3 for PS2 along with their respective controllers. I think there's a converter that will allow for use of the guitar controllers, but I can't find a link or specific name of one that works. First, can I play the PS2 games on the PS3 with PS2 controllers, and if not does anyone have a useful link to find adapters?

  • Sound echo with LCD flat screen?

I just got a samsung LCD flat screen TV, and it appears to have a weird echo when I try and use my surround sound stereo system as well. The speakers are great with the TV, but kind of annoying/distracting when a movie is playing and I'm using external speakers for the "theater effect". Any suggestions?

  • 1994 Nissan Maxima stereo?

My radio just recently went out in my car (see sub. line). The stereo is a Bose tape deck/CD combo, stock with the car. The display will show the radio frequency, but act like the station doesn't exist (doesn't show ST in display). Any ideas for a fix? The rest of the console works perfectly (tape deck, power buttons, treble, bass, etc.)

  • England vacation suggestions?

I'm going to England to visit family and "be a tourist" for about a week early (March-April) next year. I've been before, but am taking my g/f who has never been out of the U.S. Seeing castles and the rich history is probably a must, but I've only got a week. Any suggestions? Willing to use trains and hostels...

  • Babel vs. Lost in Translation?

So, I just watched Babel last night. Good movie, don't get me wrong, but why the same mystery as the end of Lost in Translation? What did the note say and what did Bill Murray say at the end of those movies?

I think this is some Hollywood plot to take over the world.

  • I have a while left on my lease, but want to buy a house. Are there any ways out of a lease in this case?

  • I just blew out my RCA reciever, how can I fix it?

I had it connected to an iPod, on the carpet. My guess is that the fan couldn't cool the internal circuits while on the carpet, but I'd like to fix it. Any suggestions, or should I start looking for a new reciever?

  • What's the difference in RAM?

I want to get more RAM for my computer, but am unsure about what kind to get. I know my computer will only take up to PC2700 speed(?) DDR, non-ECC, and up to just over 2 gigs of space on the motherboard, but that's about it.
