  • Should I remove the plastic sleeve on my water heater gas valve thermostat?

Should I remove the plastic sleeve on my water heater gas valve thermostat? Its a tight, clear plastic surrounding the full length of the copper sensor / rod. The instructions don't mention a thing. Nice!

  • What are common time-lengths of gun shots?

For instance a .38 special is discharged, I want to know how long in seconds is the sound? I would imagine less than one second? May there is a chart on the internet listing common guns?

  • Has Japan ever shared their research from all of the whale hunting they've done?

Japan claims they kill hundreds of whales each year in the name of research. Where is this information published, and are there other researchers that consume their "lab animals" as they do with the whales? I've always wanted to know, and give the Japanese a fair shake. Will they continue to "research"? Or have they discovered what they were searching for?

  • Similar Domain Registrars = Related Companies?

LocoDomains.com and http://www.domain-name-register-store.com/ appear to have very similar web sites. Is this a total coincidence? I've seen this done with other web sites too.

  • SATARAID5 Blocking Setup?

I have a nice combination motherboard and it included an on-board SATA RAID (SATARAID5 by Silicon Image) and I built it to run without RAID per the friend's request. I keep getting this darn popup configurator from Silicon Image. I'd hate to have to close this window every time I boot for the next 5 years. Any way of shutting it off? I tried looking in the BIOS and tweaked a few setting on the different drives not used, I tried looking for it in services, no luck, tried uninstaling hte hardware only for Windows to exclaim "I found it!" and reinstalled the driver for me. Tried setting the device manager to disable the device, and still get another different popup. Ugh!

  • Motherboard Freezes?

I have a PC that I'm trying to recondition. I've swapped out hard drives, video cards, ramm, and CD ROM drives. Every single time I go to reformat, it will freeze up during the the process. It did this on the user many months ago when the system was up and running. I suspect a bad IDE controller?
