  • Would this coin be a good investment?

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/281201836624?ssPageName=...

I've seen 4 sell at about £1,700 so the market seems to be there, it's a Doctor Who collectable so I'm thinking that could make it particularly sought after, and it's only limited to 250. If it's a good investment, how high would you recommend someone go if they could afford it?

Also, to retain it's value, would I need to keep it in it's packaging or would I be able to open it up and display it? What would you estimate the loss of value to be?

  • is such coin collecting a risky business?

There's a coin being made by the New Zealand Mint, it's a limited run of 250 and this is the number 1 coin with a certificate of authenticity. Here are the details:

    1 oz gold Coin

    Metal: 9999 Gold

    Finish: Proof

    Weight: 1 Troy oz

    Diameter: 32.6 mm

    Edge: Milled

    Denomination: $200

    Country of Issue: Niue

    Year of Issue: 2013

    Mintage: 250

Would such a thing be a risky buy, or can it only go up in value? It's currently on bid on Ebay and has gone up to over £1600. It's something I should be able to afford as a long term investment, but not knowing much about coins, I worry about the risk. How risky would such a thing be if I was sure to keep it in mint condition?

Extra question: Would they stay in mint condition if I displayed them in a glass display cabinet, or would they need extra special measures taken (for silver and gold coins)?

  • Is this correct about Standard Form?

if I had a number at x10 to the power of 2, it would move along 2 decimal places (like x10x10), if it was at x10 to the power of 1 it would move along 1 decimal place (x10) and if it was at x10 to the power of 0 it wouldn't change at all (x1).

    Is this right?

  • Christians: Does this not bother you?

Presumably, you believe God is absolutely omnipotent.

God flooded the Earth killing just about everything except for 2 of each animal on the ark.

If God is omnipotent, he could have reached the same results he wanted without killing anyone, so the killing was totally unnecessary (it's the equivilent of me posting a letter by grabbing the letter, slitting someone's throat, then posting it. The middle step isn't needed).

So why, bearing in mind that he had no necessity to do so, did God just slaughter everyone? Can he really be a loving God if he killed everyone just because he felt like it? Remember he has No necessity to do so: If you find yourself typing "God HAD to do that in order to meet certain objectives", remember he didn't HAVE to do anything to reach his goals because he's omnipotent. He could have reached the exact same goals he wanted without killing, and this alternate plan would have absolutely no flaws whatsoever (if he can't do that, he's not omnipotent).

  • why won't my iphone 4 connect to 3G?

I'm on Orange and I checked my data allowance; I've barely used any of my 1GB, so that's not the problem. Wifi works fine. Yet when I try to connect to 3G, no matter where I am, it won't connect (despite the 3G sign in the top left indicating a good signal). What could be the problem?

  • My Orange phone credit just disappeared, what happened!?

I topped up £10 (mainly to get the free 1GB internet and texts), but in literally less than half an hour, my credit was zapped right down to 0! I literally only loaded up one Youtube video (about 3 minutes long, and it was just a music one with a couple of fixed pictures so it wouldn't have taken up much data) and sent two messages, and I got a text from Orange saying my credit had run out. How can it take £10 worth of credit to load one small Youtube video and send a couple of messages? Is there anything I can do about this/ any possible cause for this that I can address?

    1) It says it's been used before, will I still be able to install it if I buy it?

    2) What programs does Microsoft Office include?

    3) Is that the full version?

  • Is this magnet particularly strong?

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Very-Strong-Neodymium-Ma...

I need to use a weak magnetic attraction on something I'm making, enough to hold two pieces together when unmoved, but weak enough to separate when given a quick shake. I planned to achieve this by getting 2 magnets not quite touching, so they would only have a weak attracting force between them. Would the magnets in the link be too strong to glue apart a few centimetres?

  • Someone owes my girlfriend money, but moved countries. Can I still sue?

She'd owed about £450, but the person borrowing it made a few excuses and refused to pay, and has since moved from England to Australia. Can I still sue, or do I need to hope she comes back to England one day?

  • Am I ok to eat this burger?

Got a takeaway burger I didn't finish last night, it's about 12 hours old and I didn't put it in the fridge, but it looks fine and is a burger of good quality (not some greasy slimy mess). Will it be fine if I just heat it up in the microwave?

  • How do I locate the address of someone that owes money?

My girlfriend lent her cousin around £400-£450 (I forget the exact figure but it's written down), she moved house but refuses to tell her or any other family where she is because she doesn't want to repay the debt (and will now be especially careful about who she gives her address to because most of the family is angry with her about it).

I want to take this matter up to a legal level, but can't send her the letter I need to send because I don't even know where she lives. Is there any way I can track her down without resorting to expensive private investigators and the like?

  • If God is omnipotent and all loving, why do bad things happen?

Bear in mind that any reasons you give will be subject to the fact that "If God is omnipotent, he could have made bad things not happen without the problem you just raised."

For example: "Suffering is just a part of God's loving plan."

"If God is omnipotent, he could have made an equally loving and successful plan without involving suffering".

"God wants you to turn out just right, and suffering is an important part of that."

"If God is omnipotent, he could make us all turn out just right without anyone suffering".

So bearing in mind God is limitless (he doesn't have to do one thing to make something happen, so he doesn't have to limit himself to including suffering into his plan to get something done), why does a loving God create suffering and inflict it upon people?

  • Do you agree with this statement?

A true man should carry his girlfriend's bags, open the door for her, and pay when they go out for a meal.

  • Question about Naruto (SPOILERS)?

Did the Kyuubi actually do anything evil? Both times it went on a rampage, it was being controlled by someone else against it's will, and all the rage it has inside is understandable after being trapped up as a result of being someone else's puppet. So was Kyuubi evil anyway, or was he a good guy screwed over by ninjas?

  • Who holds the burden of evidence in a Theist vs Atheist debate, and why?

I'd like to hear your reasoning, and what religion/ lackthereof you are.

A Theist preaches their God, is it up to them to prove it or is it up to the nonbelievers to prove them wrong? Why?
