Read an article on companies using a 4 day work week and the advantages and started to think about it. Our work week is based off of out of date standards.

How about 2 work weeks a 4 day 9 hour work week and a 3 day 12 hour work week. You could cover all 7 days of the week and with just the 2 shifts almost 24 hours with 4 shifts instead of 6. Every one works 36 hours.

So you would either have 3 or 4 days off a week depending on your preference

If you needed a second job you could work a 3 day and a 4 day shift without effecting your sleep patterns.

Child babysitting savings 4 hours per week or 1 or 2 less days per week

Companies would get a vacation saving of 2 weeks at 36 hours instead of 40 hours.

Companies would get payroll reduction without changing your hourly pay.

On a 10 holiday schedule, You would get 8 holidays on 9 hours and 6 holidays on 12 hours based that companies would not round up and it evens to 72 hours each.

You know how Kids can be annoying, ARE WE THERE YET. Over and over again right in the backseat behind you. Well be that little kid to your congressmen.

I currently am employed by a Large public company on-site at a large private company both are not doing well.

The housing market, commodities, state budget cuts, the world economies and the solutions proposed for the US Budget all seem to be negative to the General population. For me this seems to be coming to a big end with a major market crash and a second recession at best. What are your thoughts.

Wouldn't it be clearer if we said what we meant. The darker skinned man and the lighter skinned man.

There are 3 types of punishment used on children Physical, Mental and Emotional.

Timeouts are mental and emotion abuse of a child, causing pain by using the child's need to be around people against him/her.

Spanking is physical abuse by causing direct pain to the child.

Timeouts are the new in thing but how much different are they then using the child's fears against him. Like I am going to put you in the basement with the monsters if you don't behave. I would think the child would probably more want to be smacked on the butt.

Is it more acceptable today to cause your child problems as an adult because of mental and emotional punishments than to cause him direct pain today to correct a problem.

I would like to point out that a child can easily understand pain and is far less mentally and emotionally developed which is why so many see psychiatrists in the adult years.

One can understand why psychiatrists support banning physical punishment.

What are your thoughts.

It may just be me but I find it insulting that race is on the census form. First off as far as I know there is just one race, the human race. Second even if they went politically correct and said ethnicity, as far as I know white and black are not any ethnic group. Why does our government still support ethnic inequality. The form should correctly list every ethnic group in the world and allow us to choose. I am part canadian indian, french, Lithuanian, dutch and Irish. My children's mom is latin american. I don't think the census form can correctly identify me or them so why insult us with their stupid categories.

If cave men did not worship animals, No Hinduism, No Buddhism, no Judaism and no christianity. These religions and all the other religions out there did not help man become what he has become. They did nothing for the moral values of society. They did nothing to better the life of Human kind. As an atheist I am appalled at people who claim the world would be better without religion. I can prove there is no god and I can even easily prove religion is necessary for humans. Don't you see this.

yet is 99.9% non arabic and in its own holy land it is only a minor religion 90% of the peoples of the holy land are non-christian?

My thoughts were on how cross breeding of species added to development of species. Most cross bred species like the mule for example are sterile. On investigating though 60 females mules have produced there own offspring and possibly 1 male. 60 reproductive females could easily start a new species with the right conditions. Would this be consider part of evolution and how much of it has effected evolution.

A man and a woman rented a cage on your property. The man works and takes care of his family remarkably. The man suddenly dies outside the cage. The woman refuses to leave and attacks everyone who tries to enter. She has 3 children ages 2, 4 and 7. The state says you must provide for the children if you do not you will be locked up. They will not remove the woman. If you leave the cage open the children will probably wander out. You would still be responsible for them but if all of them come out you are not responsible for the grown woman. Once she dies the state will take the kids. How would you handle it.

Pets can save humans lifes, show loyalty and respect to humans and indeed god. Humans love there pets. How come the christian God treats them differently. There is no after life for them as far as I know and if they do get an afterlife why don't all humans get the same treatment.

In all the different philosophies there seems to be a flaw. Maybe they can't find the answer because life can't have a purpose. Think of it. Computers have purposes, Cars have purposes, Food (once harvested it is dead) has a purpose. To be alive means to find ones purpose. What is the purpose of a tree, a dog or a man. Can any be truly defined? If life had an achievable purpose wouldn't it just be a book with a beginning middle and end. It seems to me that the need to find a purpose defines what life is. What do you think?

I was wondering if 1000 years in the future. Somebody finds the yahoo computers and starts up answers. Reads my answers and questions what would they say about me. I realized I could find out now if people wanted to play.

PO It is not just religion where this is a problem PETA, Vegetarians, Abortionists have all assaulted me verbally in person and on-line much worse than some theists. In fact a theist has never verbally assaulted me in person.

we tax all married couples without child to provide relief for those with children. A married couple can have 2 incomes especially without children. Yet they are not providing for our future. Only those with children provide the New Doctors, Auto mechanics and farmers. They also provide income for when we become old through social security. If married couples cannot have children for medical reasons or because they are same sex they can still adopt and receive the credit. The credit could be set to benefit parents of up to 3 children or whatever to insure population growth but to not in-courage over growth.

I love hot sauces the spicier the better. At a restaurant over a year ago now. I had a sweet hot sauce. It was a spanish restaurant. When I put it in my mouth it tasted like a candy within 5 seconds my mouth was burning. I want to be able to duplicate it. Anyone know how.

To me that seems quite a bit low. I am registered as religious because I keep getting mail from my old church and am to lazy to tell them to stop. How many Atheists in yahoo answers are registered theists like me? Just to check the numbers.
