  • How long will a tree's diameter stay the same before the tree gets thinner?

Is there a general rule? I want to cut out an 8 inch by 8 inch piece. So I need the diameter/ circumference to stay the same for at least 30 ft. I was thinking about using white birch or pine.

  • Who are the people that did well during the great depression?

I saw a documentary explaining what happens when everyone tries to pull their money from the banks at once only to find that it isn't there. So obviously the people who had precious metals or other valuable resources did well because they could trade it for stuff but did people who hid their live savings in their mattress do well because they are one of the few people who had enough money to get by?

  • Painful to relax?

I am trying to relax my muscles, especially my torso and back. I had a hard life with mental issues and I have been incredibly tense for over a decade. Now that I got medical help I am starting to relax but when I tried to, it really hurt. Like my body was fighting the relaxation. This hurt more than my intense exercises. Anyone had something similar happen and if I can do anything about it besides pain pills.

  • Mental help. How do I get rid of the feeling of guilt of not doing more?

I am working on my mental health and I come to realize that I feel that I have to keep working and do more. I hate this and I don't like working but can bare it. I honestly feel like even if I was the first man on Mars, I would still feel like I should have done more. How do I get rid of this feeling because I hate it. I want to be able to only work 40 hours a week and not feel guilty about not working overtime every day even when I do not need the money or have the slightest clue what I would even want to spend it on. I can't work overtime forever because of other health issues, it would drive me to an early grave. Almost had.

  • Installing electric brakes on vintage camper?

We are restoring a vintage camper. A 1959 15ft kenskill camper. A guy we took to have it looked at said we should get electric brakes. Do we even need brakes because I would imagine these old campers didn't have electric brakes and would stop when the car stopped. Also it would seem I would have to get a mount and an electric brakes controller to install in the car and I don't want to do that. Could I wire it to my existing tail light wires so it will brake when both of the tail lights get power?

  • Is it true weight lifting makes you feel better?

I heard that doing stuff like biceps curls to gain muscle mass makes your arms feel lighter, more relaxed, and makes lifting every day objects easier. Is this true?

  • Do I need to replace my camper axle?

I am restoring a 1959 Kenskill camper with my mother. I looked under it and the axle is pretty rusty but will it still work? it is not bent. It is a 4 inch drop axle. also the 4 leaf springs seem ok. they are rusty but not damaged. the weird thing is when I measured the center of the eyes, I get 27 1/2" on one side and 27 3/4" on the other. there is a metal plate that connects it to the frame but it is not perpendicular. can these springs stretch because I can not find a 27 1/2" long 4 leaf double eye spring

  • Faux vs real leather backpack?

I want to buy a new backpack and don't know what I should get. I want something that will last for decades. Will canvas last this long or should I get real leather. From what I read it seems real leather has some issues like if it gets wet that i would need to dry it immediately and routinely apply oil. Is this an issue?

  • Is there a general rule for telling water temperature?

Long story short I lost something off a dock and I know exactly where it is but I have to wait till it is warm enough to dive down and get it. Is there a rule of thumb I can use to tell the water temperature like for example if the air temperature is 70 degrees the water is x degrees colder.

  • Real leather vs canvas leather?

Which is a stronger, longer lasting material? I want to buy a leather backpack as I am tired of my cloth backpacks falling apart after a few years. Ideally it would last long enough to be a family heirloom. Money is not much of an issue.

  • Can a mammal embryo grow inside a chicken egg?

I saw a video about these Japanese researchers who made a container to grow a chicken without the need of the shell. This got me wondering if I could use this method to clone mammals? For example, the pangolin population is being overhunted and I think the best way to save them is to make them a pet. The axolotl species was saved from extinction by becoming a popular pet. The problem is pangolins usually only produce one offspring a year, so if I can take their cells, make it an embryonic cell, and grow it in this shell less egg technique, it may save them.

  • is it true a president let someone own a war ship?

I heard about a story where a president during the 1700s or 1800s said it was constitutional for a private citizen to own a war ship or something. Do you know who the president was and what exactly the man had?
