My daughter has two new Bala Sharks and we've noticed something we never noticed with the others we have had....during the day their black markings disappear. Later in the day, it comes back. Does anyone know why?

My periods have always been regular, starting about 21 days after the previous one ends. The only time I ever missed was the one time I was pregnant!!! I had my tubes tied 18 years ago. I had a period starting Sept. 26, lasting 4 days. "Day Two" is usually heavier than the other days and this one was no exception. I had a few clots. Again, nothing new except one was about the size of a small chicken egg. Other than that, the period was just like any other. Well, I am now about 10 days late! I know I should go out and buy a test, but I am so nervous!!!! Ahhhhhh!!!! Do you think it's a sign of menopause or is this 44-y.o. woman and her 50 y.o. hubby about to receive a little gift?

This happened to some of my co-workers and I want to be prepared in case it happens to me...Due to impending severe weather from Gustav, several nurses were called in, told they had to stay all night. These were "on salary" not "hourly" employees. They were also told that if they weren't actually working while they were there, they wouldn't not be paid for the mandatory over-time. They could not leave, but were not paid. One woman was there 22 hours straight and only paid for 8! Most of us are paid hourly. I was on "stand-by", but not called in. If I had been required to come in and stay, would my employer be required to pay me? Even for the time I would have been on a air mattress resting? I just don't see how you can be required to be somewhere instead of home with your family and not be compensated!!!

My daughter flew London on Sunday June 29th. She sent us a message to let us know her plan landed safely. She was to meet a friend there and shuttle to Newcastle UponTyne, Northumberland. No word from her. She has an international cellphone. No answer. Traveled with her lap top. E-mails, messages to "facebook" and "myspace" unanswered. No answers from her friend either. Anyone from the area that can help us?

Trying the old remedy of mixing vinegar w/water, drinking it 3x a day for chronic fatigue/joint pain/weight loss. I am using regular white vinegar. Is white vinegar okay, or does it have to be apple cider vinegar?

What movie shows Harry Connick, Jr. without a shirt. I thought it was "Hope Floats" which I saw in the theatre, but just watched on DVD and that shot is not there. I just remember seeing him without a shirt and immediately thinking, "Wow! I never woulda imagined him having such a sexy bod!"

A friend of mine has a kitten that is about 4 months old. She has had her since she was about 6 weeks old. The kitten will not use a litterbox. My friend has tried different brands of litter, shut her in one room w/the litterbox while she is at work, frequently placed her in the box, etc, w/o success!!! Her older cat uses one with no problem. Anybody have any suggestions? Smart-@sses need not respond....

Trying to settle an argument between a married couple!!!! Help before they go to divorce court!!!!!

Security officer at mall found a baby kitten in the parking lot this morning. One of my friends took him to a vet that lives near the mall, and I picked him up this afternoon. He is estimated to be only a day old. Still has part of his umbilical cord!!! He is quite active and was feeding off a bottle at the vet, but won't take it now. He is urinating when stimulated. I am just concerned that he won't eat. One of my kids is gone now to buy a dropper so we can try feeding him that way. And, since I know someone will ask....he wasn't left at the vet because she doesn't have a vet clinic. She has a mobile vet office, so she doesn't keep animals. I have called her for advice, but no answer, and can't reach my own vet for some reason....Any advice?

Recently took our kids to a rodeo. My daughter bought a shirt autographed by one of the bullriders. She really wants to wear it, but doesn't want to ruin the autograph. And, please, I have read some of the sarcastic answers when others have posted this question so don't go there.

I have only flown once in my life and I was very nervous. I am planning a trip to surprise my hubby. We will have to fly. Any tips on how to calm the anxiety would be appreciated. I mean, any tips other than getting drunk or something!!! Anti-anxiety meds, perhaps? I am already nervous and this trip isn't for another 2 months. And the events of 9/11 didn't help any!!! White rental guy doesn't get it and then a woman comes up and says she'll handle it. She and the black guy carry on a conversation by just opening their mouths and music coming out...I love that song!!!

How do the members of the pit crew, mechanics, etc. get paid. Do they have a set salary or do they earn a portion of their driver's winnings or both?

I am tossing around the idea of going vegetarian, if not vegan...I understand that some people don't eat eggs or consume milk products because of the exploitation of the birds/cows...How do these people feel about eggs from chickens that are kept as pets, and without a rooster so they are not risking killing a baby chick, or milk from a cow that is kept as a pet? I just wondered if this type of situation makes a difference in how vegans feel about about eating eggs/milk...

My husband has custody of his 5 kids. We have been together for nearly 5 years, so I think of them as mine, also, along with my own daughter. Last week, the kid's mom called and said that when school is out, she is taking their 12-year-old son to live with her.....an 8 hour drive away!!! She did live only 15 miles away, but chose to remarry her 2nd husband and move away a year ago!!! We are freaking out!!! She never paid one dime of child support that she was ordered to pay, and would sometimes go for weeks without contacting the kids. She told my husband that he hadn't raised these kids, that he had done nothing for these kids, that "God has taken care of them". We are Christians, but this is insane!!! All of our kids are at least honor roll or better, and we NEVER have any trouble out of them. This son has always been close to her, but none of the others want to go, and none of us want him to go. What are your thoughts. i don't want our family torn apart. We will fight this.
