PTU Medication Dosage Halved after I-131 Radioactive Iodine Treatment?
My girlfriend has had Graves Disease for several years now and finally had I-131 treatment after many years of suffering from the disease. However, the past few days, she s been experiencing what I deem a severe case of Scatterbrain where she is doing foolish things, I ve seen her mind clouded like this before, when her PTU prescription had run out and she could not get more pills for a few days. Following the surgery, she waited the standard 5 days to go back on PTU, but the doctor told her to half her dose. Last night, she saw a door visibly closed and tried to walk through it. She also ran to the bathroom in a mad rush to go, but actually ran back to tell me to leave the seat down instead of putting it down herself (I know the temptation for leave the seat down jokes here, but please focus on this atypical behavior from someone desperate to use the bathroom.)
I m not sure what to do. She is a very intensive training program at the moment to become a teacher and cannot possibly make it to the doctor. She s left messages, to no avail.
My question is, has anyone here who underwent Radioactive Iodine treatment had their dosage cut so drastically immediately after the procedure? From what I understand, it takes an average of 3 months for notable effect on the thyroid. Perhaps the doctor made a mistake or my girlfriend simply misunderstood him?
Thanks for all your help.
1 AnswerMedicine4 years agoI m going crazy trying to find the name of a song I heard on a commercial the other day.?
I heard it growing up in the 90 s.
It had guitar, and the final lyric was something like When I was strong .
I think I heard it in an Adam Sandler Movie once.
Not super descriptive, I know. Can anyone help?
1 AnswerLyrics5 years agoDoes the military pay for active servicemen to return home for disabled Veteran's funerals?
4 years ago, while faithfully defending his country in Japan, my cousin-in-law, an Airman, and his wife, my cousin, received tragic word that my cousin (her brother), had been killed in a terrible accident.
At the time of his death, my cousin was an honorably-discharged disabled U.S. Veteran of the United States Army, and was in training to become part of the San Bernardino Sheriff's Department.
There were no Space-A flights available back to America in time for the funeral. It was my cousin-in-law's understanding from his higher-ups that commercial airline tickets for an active serviceman and family to attend an honorably-discharged disabled Veteran's funeral would be reimbursed. No such reimbursement ever occurred.
My cousin-in-law still has $8,228 in debt outstanding from the uncompensated flight, owed to CitiBank. He has no means to repay it.
I ask you, is there anyway whatsoever to get compensation for the amount outstanding? Does the military pay for active servicemen to return home for disabled Veteran's funerals?
If the Government doesn't provide this, Can anyone direct me to some kind of Veteran's assistance program that could help?
Thank you and God Bless America.
15 AnswersMilitary6 years agoSmall Gray Bugs, Can't Identify?
I've got these little gray bugs which are running along the base of my kitchen cabinet on the floor next to the sink. I think they may be attracted to the moisture.
Does anyone know what these things are? I'm moving and I want to make sure they don't come with me!
Thanks in advance.
2 AnswersZoology7 years agoMy Girlfriend Has Terrible Teeth.?
I met this girl; her face is fine, her body is just what I like, and we get along great. :D
However, she's 22 and she has absolutely terrible teeth. They're not yellow, they're just horribly crooked; she has a terrible overbite, and huge gaping holes in her too-small teeth.
She's really nice and I like her; but those teeth are distracting me everytime I look at her. I'm embarrassed to introduce her to my family because of her teeth. I think she's self-conscious about it; I see her covering her mouth when she speaks from time-to-time.
Her family doesn't have a lot of money; I'm not sure she has dental insurance.
What should I do?
2 AnswersSingles & Dating9 years agoCould someone direct me to a microwave made in Mexico?
I'm buying new appliances for the home, and while Dacor makes American-made microwaves, they're out of my price range.
Instead of sending money to Korea or China, perhaps there's a happier medium and I can at least keep the money in North America.
Does anyone know of an over-the-counter microwave model made in Mexico?
I know Maytag makes theirs in China, and General Electric makes theirs in Korea. I'll settle for a Mexican one. Are there even microwaves still made in Mexico?
1 AnswerOther - Electronics9 years agoCan Anyone Name This Heavenly, Angelic Music?
When I was a kid, I used to watch this show called Teacher's Pet. In the episode " Don't It Make My Brown Eyes Green," the episode opened up with this Angelic Music, and I simply cannot find it. Everyone I talk to can remember the song, but cannot place the name.
It's quite beautiful, and lyric-less; the only lyrics are women singing angelically "Oooooohhhhh, ooooooooooh oh oh oh," and so on. I know this is not all that helpful in text, but it is simply the best way I can describe the music.
Could anyone help me, please?

Could anyone please give me the faiths which belong to Christian Right and Left?
For example, I know that Mormons and Fundamentalists normally belong to the Christian Right,
and Catholics and Mainline Protestants belong to the Christian Left, but where do the other sects of Christianity belong?
5 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoOld Saying: The graceful act gracefully?
There's an old saying in Latin or something which means the 'Graceful act gracefully', meaning that the wealthy should not act superior or snooty to those without money.
Does anyone know this saying in Latin, or who said it?
1 AnswerWords & Wordplay1 decade agoBooks on the Manipulation of the Bible By the Christian Right and Left?
I am writing a paper for my Political Science class, and I wanted to write it about how the Christian Right and the Christian Left largely derive their beliefs and dogma from the same book, yet they interpret it vastly differently and their political views are shaped by such differences in interpretation;
Why does a Catholic from New York believe in public housing and cheap state education, and why does a Baptist from Arkansas believe Capitalism is Jesus' message?
I'm looking for articles and books that will help to support my argument that both the left and the right in this country manipulate Christians' beliefs to help gain political clout, and gain empathy by leveling political beliefs with something deeply spiritually meaningful and important to their constituents. I.E. The Democrat saying you can't be a Christian and not help the poor, and the Republican saying the 'Good Lord helps those whom help themselves.'
I'm not looking to talk about the contradictions of the Bible here, or even the bible itself. I'm talking about the manipulation by the Political Parties to affect political groups.
I do not want this to turn into an argument on religion. Please, if you're going to post, keep it civil and respectful, and do not turn this into a Religion Riot. I'm talking about Politicians trying to equate their beliefs to spiritual beliefs to have more appeal to their constituents and gain their votes.
And if you must know, I'm the liberal Catholic from NY, but I think the housing projects should be torn down, because we're looking at 3rd and 4th generational poverty in these complexes, and we've completely failed these people. I think with my mind, and I keep it open. Just because I'm a Democrat doesn't believe I agree 100% with everything they say. And just because I'm a Catholic doesn't mean my friends cannot be Jews, Muslims, Atheists, Evangelicals, Spiritualists, Agnostics, Buddhists, or what have you. I look beyond labels, which is why I'd like to write this paper; I want to blur the lines between groups, at least political groups.
Any forwarding to helpful material would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
3 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoDoes iLife '11 allow you to play movies in iPhoto again?
Since I upgraded to Snow Leopard, I cannot get videos to play in iPhoto, even though 'Preview' supports them. A lot of people seem to be having the same problem as me. Is this functionality fixed in iLife '11? I just bought my grandfather a Macintosh and I can't believe it didn't work. I wanted to impress him.
Anyone have iLife '11 yet?

My girlfriend is a music major, so for her birthday, I've purchased tickets for La Boheme at the Metropolitan Opera.
The real question is, what kind of decorum should I expect in terms of what to wear? I'm planning on wearing a Tuxedo, and she's wearing a fancy dress. Is that overdoing it? What should I wear? I was going to take her to dinner first.
4 AnswersNew York City1 decade agoAre General Electric Appliances Made in the USA?
Are General Electric appliances still made in America? I'm going to be buying appliances once I get married, and I want to support our economy, and keep jobs here. I know Whirlpool still makes products here, but GE, perhaps our most valuable asset in America, I'm really not sure.
Does anyone know?

Is there a French food market somewhere in New York City, anywhere within the 5 boroughs? If I can get a Japanese food store, and a Polish Food Store, surely there must be one French store in a city of 8.4 Million People. Now, I mean a french food store, not a restaurant. Does anyone know of one?

I've got Snow Leopard for Mac and it comes with Quicktime X. However, I've got a bunch of clips on this website in Quicktime that I want to download and it doesn't have that 'arrow' tab that allows me to "Save As Source" "Save As Movie" etc. I need to know, if I buy Quicktime Pro, will I be able to use that feature to save video unconditionally?
Thanks.

To keep this clear: this is not a homosexual bash. I'm in full support of gay marriage. I'm a marriage officiant, and I would have absolutely no problem performing one. But out of curiosity, to those who live in a family with two mothers or two fathers, what do call you your parents? Is there two form of 'mother' like "Ma" or "Mama", that you use for each parent? Honest question, how do you distinguish from each parent?

1 AnswerCell Phones & Plans1 decade agoOk, Atheists, You've Intrigued Me. Why are you atheist?
Ok. I'm Catholic. I believe in the right to choose, and I'm for anybody marrying anybody. I don't force my beliefs on anyone, and respect all views. I have accepted Christ into my life. I'm from New York. I've seen beautiful things in my life, I've seen sad things in my life. I'm a very happy person. Convince me why I should become an atheist. I feel that I am a logical, reasonable man. At the same time, the faithful, argue with me why I should believe. Use personal experiences. Tell me stories. Why do you believe? Why do you not believe? I'd just like to know.
21 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhat should I go to? Pace or Queens College?
I'm from New York, but now I live out of state. I want to be a lawyer, and head back to New York. I've got a choice between Pace University and Queens college. I don't like Queens because it's so far away from the subway, and I'd like to see my family a lot, since they're in Brooklyn, Staten Island, and Hoboken, NJ. Queens is cheaper and a better school, but this may be my only chance to live in Manhattan. Any input?
5 AnswersNew York City1 decade agoTo New Yorkers: Did You Find "I Am Legend" Offensive?
Did any other New Yorker besides me find the scene in the movie "I Am Legend" where they blow up the Brooklyn Bridge extremely offensive? I know it was a film, a typical stupid Will Smith film where somebody screws up so he gets to shoot things, and I don't like to go on about 9/11 all day; but man, I found watching them blow up those bridges felt extremely offensive and extremely inappropriate considering what's already happened to this city. Anyone agree?
