When you reformat a hard drive, does it truly wipe it clean with no chance of data recovery?

Let me start with saying, This is a serious question and I mean no disrespect, nor do I want to convert anyone. I just was wondering why atheists (to me, defined as not believing in God) would spend time in the Religion and Spirituality section. What is it about the subject that is interesting to you?

Someone suggested I stop drinking diet coke due to some chronic pain I experience. I also have some trouble with minor depression and what I call muddled thinking or foggy thinking - where it is hard to look at a task and logically figure out where to start--it seems overwhelming....

I stopped the diet coke last week, and it didn't help the pain - but - surprisingly enough, the mild depression has disappeared and my thoughts and plans are suddenly clear as a bell.

Has anyone else had similiar experiences with products containing aspartame. What about Splenda?

Is Yahoo having a problem? My buttons on the tool bar keep disappearing, my mail is taking forever to load - only on Yahoo, other sites are fine. I go to check mail and it loads and loads and loads. I shut down and restared my computer thinking it might have been a loading problem......but still things seem wacky?

Anyone else?

I'm not sure what I was thinking. I purchased the first season of Supernatural on DVD, without every having seen or heard of it. It came today-- Can someone fill me in - is it a good series? I've seen Jensen Ackles and I think it he's a great actor from someone so young.

I am talking about people who have raised their kids and finally decided what they wanted to do with their life. Any success stories to share?

I have two Nikon digital cameras: a Coolpix 3100 with a 512 mg Compact Flash Mem. card and a D70 with a 1 GB Com. Flash Mem. card.

After the transfer is complete from the D70 and I attempt to stop the card reader, the computer tells me it's busy and try again later. This is a new development but since it started the other night, has been happening continally.

I have tried the following: Reformatting the card - same message. Using a different card reader-same message.

When transferring pictures from the smaller 512 mb card, this never happens. It is only with the large 1 GB.

My question is, could the mem. card be going bad since I tried two different card readers with same result, or would it be a computer problem?
