I am 42, have 2 full time children, 1 part time child and 3 step children that don't live with me. My hubby has 2 ex wives and I am a widow. I was a financial advisor until 2004 when I joined my husband in working his hot and spicy food development company. We own one of the best hot sauce labels in the world. I have AS which is a very mild form of autism and as a result have a quirk in needing to know everything there is to know about something when it is of interest to me, and I can't help it. I was a photographer's and artists' model and acted for tv and stage when I was a teen to young adult, although I quit doing it when I was 20. I love great food and fine wines and to cook, my hubby is a chef and our best friend is an accomplished sommelier. I like to master things that I learn or try and am not afraid to try things even though I might fail at them. I like Answers and try to give the sort of helpful answer I hope to get in return for my questions.
Questions about the Course in Miracles?
Is anyone else on here doing the Course in Miracles. I would love to know how you found out about it... Are you doing it because of Oprah or did you get to it some other way?

LG Dare or Crackberry Storm??? Please say why.
The storm arrives here in three weeks... And I'm wondering if it's worth the wait.
4 AnswersCell Phones & Plans1 decade agoQuestion for those who keep saying that Obama is Muslim...?
He's been an active member of the Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago for over 20 years and the media has made a huge hullaballoo over Obama's Christian pastor's "racism"... How can you still think he's Muslim?
21 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoThis is a question for adults..?
I land on questions by preteens and teens asking questions about their relationships (or at least what they understand to be their relationships) and very often older answerers rather than simply answer their questions say things such as "you're too young", "you shouldn't be having relationships" etc.
When you were 12-14, wouldn't you have preferred to have been given useable advice about how to talk to your other-gender friends than to simply be told "you're too young".
So, here is my question, with that in mind... How old were YOU when you had your first "boyfriend" or "girlfriend", whichver the case may be.
2 AnswersFriends1 decade agoA question for all Americans...?
Since the rest of the G8 countries function very well and still manage to protect, help and serve their own people, most especially with the instigation and use of social welfare programs... Why it is so abhorrent to your nation?
In other words... how or why is "socialism" a bad thing?
Americans in the form of financial donations, provide aide and succor (and billions of dollars of military aide) to people in need all over the world (and even some not in need), yet this same population for some reason thinks it's bad for the nation to provide full medical aide and succor to Americans.
Please expalin this to me if you can; because I just don't get it.
9 AnswersOther - Cultures & Groups1 decade agoWhy won't Outlook download email suddenly?
On Thursday, my husband's Outlook stopped downloading email from the server. It is still bringing in the Hotmail mail, but not the company stuff.
I've checked the mail settings and tested the connection, it seems to work fine. Until I hit the send/receive all button, then nothing happens. It doesn't even seem to attempt to download anything.
Anyone have any suggestions (aside from telling him to ditch the Outlook, he won't).
1 AnswerSoftware1 decade agoYahoo White List Problem?
I have added the "offending" email address to my address book, but the "wanted" spam that that address is sending is being blocked by Yahoo as spam. Obviously, it's because of the content, which includes information about "weight loss".
How do I stop Yahoo from blocking it?
2 AnswersAbuse and Spam1 decade agoI noticed that asking an inflammatory question gets more responses?
So, if I ask a question that sides with racism, homophobia or religion bashing, I get more responses than if I ask a serious question.
Why so you suppose that is?

Do people who want the Japanese Government condemned for allowing the slaughter of dolphins also condemn the US Government for allowing the slaughter of chickens, pigs and cows?
Why do they single out KFC for the slaughter of chickens but ignore all other chicken slaughterhouses?
Are they all 2007 versions of Brigit Bardot, condeming the seal hunt wearing while wearing a mink coat?
6 AnswersVegetarian & Vegan1 decade agoHelp with XP Pro, Service Pack 2...?
Please don't tell me to simply install SP2, it crashes out my system and I have to safe boot and uninstall it to get my system to work again. If I could install it, I would have.
That said.
I have no choice it seems but to install SP2, but I seem to have to do a clean install in order to do so.
If you know how I can do this without wiping my hard drive, please tell me.
If not, do you know where I can find a checklist that will tell me where all my KEY files are hiding so that I don't lose them when I do wipe the hard drive?
6 AnswersSoftware1 decade agoService pack 2?
I have to do a clean install of Windows XP Pro in order to add the service pack 2. I had thought to simply upgrade to Vista, but it seems I can't do this without first adding SP2.
Do you know a way to do this without having to do the clean install, and if not... Do you know where I can find a checklist of where to find the files I need to save so that I don't miss anything important.
3 AnswersSoftware1 decade agoDaylight Savings time...?
I have already tried to look this up, but there are 846 similar questions and none of them seem to quite address my problem.
The problem starts with the fact that Service Pack two kills my hubby's computer. In order to clean install I have to shut down my business and also find the time to deal with it. (Don't be so incredulous... some of us ARE that busy!) As such his system has not been able to be switched over to the DST this spring (It switched three (four?) weeks earlier than usual). It is waiting for the usual switchover in April, I assume (I hope). Because each time he adjusts for the hour change, it switches itself back (we don't know when because his system doesn't get shut down). I tried shutting down the automatic switchover, but then we're off by an hour anyway. Is there no way to simply set the clock?
What is the best way to fix this? We are in an EST zone.
