Windows Vista 32bit to Windows 7 64 bit upgrade question?
Alright so I want to upgrade my Vista 32bit to a 64bit version of 7. My question is...can I do this with the upgrade disc? I've heard you have to run the upgrade disc inside the current OS before you can upgrade and the 64 bit wont run in the 32bit....unless it happens to have a 32bit install file? I'm a programmer...so tech speak is welcome.
5 AnswersSoftware1 decade agoDSL Availability Question. Experts only please.?
Ok, here's the situation. I have 3 different ways to get phone service in my yard. By that I mean...The pole where my neighbor gets his connection from, a fiber line running through, and then my line. 2 out of those 3 have the ability to provide a 6mb DSL connection. Mine cannot. Apparently the line I am on runs completely away from EVERYTHING. My question is, why cant AT&T move me to one of the other 2 lines that are in MY yard? The fiber connection actually meets my copper but doesn't connect.
Please if all you know is that DSL is high-speed internet, or if you plan on suggesting cable(which i cannot get) STAY away from this question. I'll only give you thumbs down.
2 AnswersComputer Networking1 decade agoQuestion about FFXI Online Billing Cycle?
At what time can I reactivate my content ID without getting charged for the month of February? For those who don't know, FFXI will charge you for the full month no matter when you reactivate it. I need to know the exact time the billing cycle starts. Like 12am Japan time. It's currently 11:15 here.
2 AnswersVideo & Online Games1 decade agoFinal Fantasy XI and Xbox 360?
Ok, so I just got FFXI for the 360...been playing the pc version forever. Well my problem is I'm on satellite. Don't laugh...I know I know. But its all I can get out here until AT&T finishes their project. Anyway...satellite has a FAP(Fair Access Policy) which limits my downloads to 300mb per day or they shut me down for 24+ hours. My school has blocked Xbox live. I'm wondering if I can still download the updates for the game on their connection. I know you don't have to pass through live for FF so it should work...what do you guys think? Since the ports are different and all.

Also, any comments on this setup? Trying to improve my sound with something under $400.
2 AnswersHome Theater1 decade agoCould someone help me with a home audio question regarding subwoofers?
Ok, I'm an IT guy but I must admit...my knowledge of speakers isn't so great yet. But I am learning!
My question is, is there any subwoofers that I can connect two 200watt 8ohm speakers to bypassing a receiver?
The reason I ask is because I was going to purchase a full system but I'm tight on money now so I'm trying to figure out a way to add a subwoofer to what I already have and then add onto it later. Currently I have a very very old receiver than only has 4 speaker inputs and I'm not sure what the power rating is on it. I currently have two 200 watt JBL speakers hooked into it. It sounds good. But I want to add a sub some how. It needs bass.
My budget is around $400 right now and a receiver by itself is $400.
Any info/tips is appreciated.
2 AnswersHome Theater1 decade agoHelp me with my home audio setup.?
Ok, as of right now I have two 200watt JBL front speakers and a very very old receiver. I'm looking for a good sub woofer and possibly a new receiver. Now I'm not looking to go all out and get a Bose setup. I just want something decent. I don't know if it is possible but I would love to stay under $400 per item.
My uses for this is mainly blu-ray movies and gaming consoles. I have a 47" HDTV I'll be hooking it up too. So I'm looking for something with a digital/optical/HDMI connection if possible.
3 AnswersHome Theater1 decade agoInfo on Dish Network satellite receivers.?
I was wondering, if I purchase a dual(supports 2 TVs) receiver say from ebay and want to switch it with my current receiver, how do I go about doing this? What fees will I come across? How will I deactivate my current one and activate my new one? How much is it to add another TV on the same box? Can I do this a cheaper way even if it isnt so...uh..legal? Like splitting the signal. Basically I'm trying to get two separate channels on 2 TVs on one account. I'm a tech guy so feel free to be technical. :p
