  • Please don't laugh..serious question ;)?

I know that I am going to get so much crap for this but here goes. I have had my Chihuahua just under 2 years. We are very bonded and the longest I left him was 4 days for a wedding. He did not eat much but over all was ok (he was not left alone he was with a family friend who he knows well). I am going out of town for 10 days. The dog will be with my boyfriend who he has been around since he was a pup(we share a home). When I have had to leave overnight for work he tells me Angus just moped around whining and looking for me. I guess my question is how bad do you think this seperation is going to be for him and is there anything I can do to make it easier. I am not a neurotic dog owner! I leave him home for work and don't tote him around with me. I'm just a little stressed about the length of time.

  • Breeding Brindle Chihuahua!?

I know that was a misleading post but I need to vent! I have a 2 yr old non neutered Brindle Chihuahua. I get so tired of people asking me why I don't breed him...do I plan on breeding him etc. I know he is a unusual Chi color but the odds of him siring another brindle is pretty low anyway (its a recessive gene) There are too many pups out there just to breed mine "cause he is pretty" That is my rant and I thank you for the platform.

Yes I do plan on neutering him I have not because I'm a big baby and keep putting it off. Yes I know its healthier and yes I know he will be more content and Yes I am going to do it around the new year.

  • What do you think of the upcoming Cold Case show "street money" Bad timing?

I don't know who has seen this episode preview but I think it is tasteless and not timed well. I don't care if you are a Obama fan or not but thing how this would make his girls feel if they see this preview. Thoughts?

  • Chihuahuas eye is swollen shut...?

It is after midnight and we have no 24 hour vet here. He is showing no sign of pain. His eye looks a little swollen and he is tearing. I opened his eye and can see no sign of a irritant. Should I relax and take him in the morning or should I be stressing out (like I am now). Any advice from CHI or similar dog owners only please.

  • 6lb Chihuahua lethargic and sore after vet visit..Advice from Small dog owners only please!?

I took my Chi to the vet for his first visit since puppy shots. He got Rabies, distemper, heart worm (blood drawn), fecal and Kennel cough vax (I have to board him in April for a few days). He is heathly and up to date. I expected him to be a little worn out from the visit (it was at 2pm EST) he napped for a little while and played with his toys. At around 5pm when his dad got home from work he ran up to him as usual but when he was picked up he cried. I figure he is a little sore from the shots. Its now 9:30 pm and he has been laying down under his blanket since around 5:00 ( I called the vet they said he should be fine) I tried to move him around 9:30 and his crying was unbearable. Is this a normal reaction to shots. He did not have this problem when he got his puppy shots or do I have reason to be concerned. I may be just a nervous dog mom but I take good care of him and would hate to overlook something. Advice from other small dog owners would be great. Thanks!

  • Reponsible Pet owners..should we have our own catagory....?

Why when I come here why do I feel like I am in coversation with a bunch of six year olds?? I am a responsible pet owner who would love ADULT questions not "what do I name my new puppy" or "should I breed my Chipoodlebugdalmationpit" again....there really needs to be some sort of child versus adult forums here....venting in 2008! Happy new year! I know this is not really a question but I am sure many of you have felt the same way. I know the kids need the animal questions but where are the adults??

  • Do GLBTs know that there is a WELCOMING religion that does not condemn them to hell but supports??

I am not trying to convert or to preach but as having recently found the Unitarian Church I am very excited. This is a church that does not believe that being gay is a sin and actually supports gay rights and ordains gay ministers. Not just that but they believe in racial equality, womens rights, caring for the enviroment (alot of pagan references) and also believes that everyone has a right to worship God as they feel is right for them. There is so much more than what I even know. I know this is not a question but I wanted to put out the information. Atheists...you would feel comfortable there too. www.uua.org

  • Female served in Iraq..any less of a Vet?

I served 355 days in Iraq..my jobs included badging NCO at front gate(screened all Iraqis coming aboard the FOB and ran the Gate for a inept staff NCO). Did the Public relations for our company(was published),wrote awards, and at the same time conducted gun truck missions providing convoy security (was a gun truck commander)...Oh yeah and carried a 20 pound SAW which landed me in guard towers as a NCO. After all of this why do I still feel like I have to explain myself to be a Vet of the WAR and not just a service member that served during war time. I ALOMST GOT KILLED !!! MORE THAN 1 TIME! and possibly by my decisions saved many lives...why do I feel like I am not deserving of Veterans accolades?? PLEASE NO NASTY COMMENTS. For anyone who has questions..the gate was the first 4 months and the missions were the last 8 months.

  • My Chihuahua got ahold of a decorative (real) gourd...?

My Chi got ahold of a gourd that many people get for fall decorations at the grocery store...the bumpy funny looking ones they sell with the mini pumpkins. It was out of his reach (I thought) but he managed to jump from the back of a couch onto a decorative table then onto the dining room table..go figure. Anyway he gnawed off the top of the gourd. Its hard to tell how much he may or may not have ate. Does anyone know it these have a potential toxin for dogs. He is not showing any signs of stomach problems but it was only a few miniutes ago and I'm keeping a eye on him. Thanks!

  • Women only please...?

My husbands ejaculations are very thick and the amount is not as much as I have seen in past relationships. It has always been this way but I am now concerned that this may affect out chances of concieving. Is a thick almost jelly like consitency normal for some men and have any of you had luck concieving with a man who has this issue.

He has kids from a previous relationship so I know he is fertile but the youngest is 11 so he is a bit older now (early 40's) I don't want to ask if this is normal for him because if its not I don't want to embarrass him. Please Please Please only serious responses.
