I love cars & helping people when I can. I have been working on cars since I was a kid in my dad's garage. By the time I was 16 I had built more engines with my dad and uncle than most people would own in their lifetime. My specialty is older Ford and Chevy vehicles, but am very open minded. I would not be where I am today without the support of my wife. She helps me a lot in the garage. Vehicles I now own or have owned: 1955 Chevy 3100, 1967 Mustang (2), 1969 F-100, 1972 Blazer, 1973 Pinto, 1976 Mustang II, 1976 GMC C-15, 1977 Pinto, 1977 Mustang II (2), 1978 Pinto, 1978 F-150 4x4, 1979 Pinto, 1980 Mustang, 1981 C-10, 1987 Mustang, 2002 Kia Rio I will answer questions to the best of my ability. I cannot say I will be 100% right, but who is? I will not answer questions I don't know the answer to, and I will not waste my time on people who are craving attention. Hope to hear from you and help you soon! Life experience, and over 20 years spent wrenching on old cars and trucks.

  • Who made the working scale model of a Ford 427?

It was on an old episode of 'Home Improvement'. Someone actually made a fully functional scale replica of the old Ford 427 V8. I was wondering if anyone knew who that was, and if they have a website. Thanks!

  • Why do people put their trash in the back of other peoples pickup trucks?

I am sick of walking out and finding trash in the back of my truck just because someone is too lazy to take their crap to the dumpster. I once found a set of wheel covers in the back of my truck along with a box for some cheap replacement covers, and the car next to my truck was the same brand as the old wheel covers and had brand new wheel covers on it that matched the box. I then took the old wheel covers and put one in the center of their hood, one on the center of the roof, jammed one under their spoiler, and wedged the fourth between one of their front tires and the fender. I then proceeded to take all of the trash out of the bed of my truck and placed it under their windshield wipers. Maybe they will think twice about dumping their crap in somebody else's pickup.

  • Will the US ever change the one dollar bill design? If so, what should they change it to?

I was just noticing the recent change in the other denominations of the bills, but the one dollar has stayed the same through not only the "large head" change, but also through the multi-color change.

(As a side-note, it sure was a shock to come back to the US after deployment back in 2003 to find the 20 was now three different colors! I thought they were trying to give me forgeries!)

  • Poll: What was your very first car?

I am just curious to hear peoples responses. My first car was an orange 1979 Ford Pinto that I bought for $100 when I was 14. I traded it for a tan 1969 Ford F-100 before I even had my license, so really the truck was the first car that I drove.

  • What are my skis worth?

Hi. I have a set of skis poles and boots we found in a closet in our new home in Chattanooga, TN. I want to sell them but also (obviously) want to get a fair price for them as well. The poles are scratched up at the tips, but the skis and boots look barely used at all. These are made for a petite woman. The poles say "TECNOpro" on them, and I think the size is 44" (it is very faded.) The skis say "Sport DYNASTAR" on them, and the only other defining mark on top is "S137" on the boot clips. The edges of both skis say "V 140 7351268", and I am guessing that is a serial number of some sort. The boots are size USA 7, EURO 6, and say "DALBELLO" on the side, as well as "CARVEX" and "M39X". Near the heal, there is "286 MM", and on the back of the ankle there is "MATRIX Diva DESIGN". FYI, these will eventually be going on craigslist here in Chattanooga and also down in Atlanta. Thank you!

  • What are my clubs worth?

I have a set of golf clubs we dug out of the closet of our new home here in Chattanooga, TN. I would like to sell them, but also (obviously) would like to get a fair price for them. They are lightly used, and none seem to have any dents or dings in them. There is dirt on the PW, and on the skinny#5 club. They are Kathy Whitworth Monogram II, and are made for a petite woman. All are graphite shaft except for the putter. The skinny head clubs are numbered 4-9, and the fat headed clubs are numbered 1, 3, 5, 7. It also has a matching PW and SW, but the putter is a different brand (Align series 3). The bag says "CROSPETE sports" I think. This set also has an extra Callaway #5 fat head club that says "Big Bertha" and "S2H2" on it. That club has its own special little sock cover. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! FYI, these will probably eventually go on craigslist here in Chattanooga, and down in Atlanta.

  • Why does my Coretronic Corporation LCD monitor only display in 800x600?

I have tried everything I can think of including searching for a different driver, to no avail. I have tried different refresh rates, and messed with every single thing in the monitor menus to try to make it right. The Monitor supports up to 1024x768 at a refresh rate of 75Hz, but it is severely offset to the left. I am tired of feeling like I am visually impaired every time I use my computer.
