Is it true to the USA was declared Secular in 1797?
Read something that said it was, sign by Washington and Adams and that it could not declare itself a nation of any faith, or start war on the basis of religion.
8 AnswersOther - Politics & Government1 decade agoAfghan - how many people in the US know who actually trained the Taligan to fight.?
US people only to answer, 10 Points for the correct answer, do your research!!
16 AnswersMilitary1 decade agoAre all religions really sects, that should be banned?
All major religions are really sects founded on myth, the only difference is they have a much bigger following?
What is the difference?
24 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoInsurance, the govenment is bailing out those uninsured! So why bother having it.?
It is a joke, that we the tax payer have to bail out those who cant be bothered. Pathetic.
Pensioners etc. is fair enough, they have family who should help them first, if not then they deserve government money as they have paid their due to Society.
6 AnswersInsurance1 decade agoFloods, why is southern UK moaning so much? Only 2 deaths, the water will go away eventually. No problems.?
People just expect to have running water and electricity all the time. They are using drinking water just to flush some pee down the loo. Britain has gone soft. No one is going to starve, drown etc. and half the population could do with loosing some weight anyway, so half rations and a bit of water bailing, furniture carrying, won't harm them either.
It is probably the first time some people have even met their neighbours, so it's done them a favour in the long run.
18 AnswersOther - Society & Culture1 decade agoHull Floods, why do people expect the government to do everything for them?
Insurance will repair the house, replace the belongings, cover the cost of temporary accommodation. What else do they actually expect, it is not the governments fault either, just one of those things that happens and when build close to river and flood plains.
There are people living in motor homes complaining about their £15k kitchen being flood (which is insured), they need a wake up call to what 'problems' really are.
8 AnswersOther - Cultures & Groups1 decade agoBlair, still a joke, constituency home my ...?
Blair only bought that house in Trimdon, to take over as MP in that area, he has never lived there and never planned to. He just cant stop lying.
Sports mission, he gets worse, most schools have sold off their sports fields for housing because of his policies and NEast leisure centres are so out of date and cash less.
He won't ever change.
14 AnswersCurrent Events1 decade agoHow can Blair be a peace envoy, he has caused most of problems? Guilt ?
I think he is after a nobel peace prize. More ego boosting money spinning.
9 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoFloods, when will people learn not to build on flood plains ?
Why are people so suprised when their house keeps flooding if they live next to a quaint stream and all the rain absorbing fields around them have been built on.
Converting every inch of land into housing and tarmac road with very rapid rain run off straight into drains EQUALS floods. Hardly rocket science.
5 AnswersWeather1 decade agoCould Pop Stars end poverty?
Why do people like Bono, McCartney, Elton John, Cliff Richard etc pretend to be so supportive of poverty in Africa, when between them they have more cash in the bank than any African nation and could end starvation, build 1000s of school etc..
Because they only want to fame of it all, rather than just do it?
Should they be more like Bill Gates and give it all away?
17 AnswersOther - Politics & Government1 decade agoWould I be racist if I funded a 'Music of White Origin' awards ceremony?
The MOWOs, has a ring to it!! But more seriously do things like the MOBOs, the recent BB eviction, actually do damage? They create and build barriers, rather than improve society.
This is more a follow up to the current double standards racsim row on BB. Does not bother me either way, but for any credibility or future this whole racism, sexist or any minoritist type thing needs either sorting out or just give up on it.
17 AnswersOther - Cultures & Groups1 decade agoHow many wars in past 200years have not had a religious motivation?
Most are caused by religion, either directly or indirectly.
13 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoWho does Blair think he is wasting our money on a world tour.?
A £Million spent just promoting himself and Cherie, so he can make loads of money afterwards. He should be back here sorting out the 10years of mess he has created, before he goes.
8 AnswersGovernment1 decade agoIf the McCanns are holyier than thou, why dont they promote missing children in general?
There are 1000s of missing or suffering kids, who so desperately need help. The McCanns should broaden their PR if they really care?
5 AnswersCommunity Service1 decade agoAt last the true Gulf War motive emerges, thoughts?
http://news.independent.co.uk/world/middle_east/ar...
Basically, "Iraq's massive oil reserves, the third-largest in the world, are about to be thrown open for large-scale exploitation by Western oil companies under a controversial law which is expected to come before the Iraqi parliament within days."
"The US government has been involved in drawing up the law, a draft of which has been seen by The Independent on Sunday. It would give big oil companies such as BP, Shell and Exxon 30-year contracts to extract Iraqi crude and allow the first large-scale operation of foreign oil interests in the country since the industry was nationalised in 1972."
"Opponents say Iraq, where oil accounts for 95 per cent of the economy, is being forced to surrender an unacceptable degree of sovereignty." Does this sound very democratic ?

You have to add a link to your answer, showing the most simple question asked today, like the wine one just gone. Best one wins.
10 AnswersYahoo Answers1 decade agoWhy do top contributors sometimes reply such rubbish answers? That are clearly wrong.?
Is the system not flawed, they could be 'Top' contributors (TC) in topics totally unrelated to what they are answering and you would not know?
Plus, is it not easier to gain this title, by purely answering questions in a manner you know the asker is wishing to hear. As many question are clearly looking for a re-assurance of the askers opinion? Which you could say this is one of ?
How can you get several TCs giving completely different answers, someone must be wrong!?
You thoughts? From both TC and others.
