  • How do I delete all Gmail emails from my Android phone?

I have deleted all of the emails from my Gmail account via the web browser and emptied the trash. They are gone forever!

Except.. not. I still have thousands of emails on my Android phone. But there's no way to delete them all. Instead I seem to have to select them one by one, delete them... and then go to the trash and select them one by one again and delete them again to get them off my phone. I tried re-synching to my now-cleaned out Gmail account, but it didn't get rid of the emails.

Where are they stored on my phone? I just want to delete all this junk email - thousands of messages - and never see it again.

  • Why does my cat's poop stink so bad?

My cats have been eating a grain free kibble: Nature's Variety: Instinct (chicken). Things were going great until I thought they might like some variety and bought a bag of Nature's Variety Rabbit to mix in. I followed all of the rules and started mixing in a very small amount with the chicken kind.

One of my cats refused to eat the food. I mean she wouldn't even touch the chicken kibble that had come into contact with the rabbit kibble. The other cat was happy to eat the rabbit kibble. Unfortunately she got a horrid case of diarrhea. I ended up throwing out all of the rabbit kibble, including all of the chicken kibble that was mixed with it.

She ate small amounts of the rabbit kibble for about a week. It has been two weeks since she's had any of it. The diarrhea seems to have passed at this point (it took awhile). But her poop smells awful. Like death.

    What's going on?

    To sum up:

    1. Cat ate tiny amounts of new kibble mixed with old kibble for a week.

    2. Cat is currently eating old kibble, which previously did not cause her problems.

    3. This is a good quality brand of cat food, and it's grain free. So before you reply and say "don't feed your cat junk food" please familiarize yourself with the product.

Do I need to take a stool sample to the vet? Do I need to switch to an entirely new variety of food? Could she have gotten a parasite from kibble?

    Thanks.

  • My cat's stool has turned pale after switching foods? Should I be concerned?

I recently changed my cat's food to a grain free product from Nature's Variety (Instinct). She was previously eating Pro Plan which includes grain and fillers.

Her stool has turned pale - beige rather than dark brown. She does not like the wet food from this company, so she has been eating more kibble and less wet food for the past week or so.

The new food is actually dark brown in color, so I suppose I find it odd that her poop is so light-colored. Should I be concerned?

  • A/C unit making screeching noise?

My A/C unit started making a screeching noise intermittently. It lasts 15-45 seconds when it happens. It's loud enough that I have to cover my ears to stand next to the outdoor unit.

The problem is, it's about 120F and past 5pm on a Saturday. Is this something that wait until Monday to fix, or is it an emergency? What is going to happen if I keep running it (other than annoying my neighbors)?

I saw a preview about lions or wild cats about two months ago, announcing that it was coming out in theaters. Any ideas what the movie was?

  • Floppy disk(s) fail (40)?

I get an error: Floppy disk(s) fail (40), press F1 to continue every time I reboot. I don't have a floppy disk drive. When I enter setup to try to disable it, I can't find any menu that allows me to do so.

How do I stop it from trying to load the non-existent floppy disk?

  • My dryer made an awful noise - what could be wrong?

My Kenmore electric dryer is 7 years old. The last couple of loads, it has been taking longer to dry clothes (two cycles) and today, I set it for a third cycle when I found the clothes were still damp. When I started it, it made a horrible clanging noise that sounded like something came loose and rattled around a bit, then it stopped working. I pressed the button to start it a couple of times and it made noises and didn't start up as normal. Then, about an hour later, I pressed the button again and it started. It rattled a bit like little rocks were moving around in it, but it appeared to start as normal and the sounds went away.

The dryer wasn't expensive to begin with, so if I have to call a repair man, I'll want to buy a new one.

Should I just try to clean it out (I never have - but I read on the internet that this may be a possible source of my problem) or junk the thing? I'm a little concerned about it starting on fire.

  • Can you help me identify this flower?

    http://i1123.photobucket.com/albums/l542/impska99/...

It is a small red flower, about a half-inch in diameter. It's perennial and well-behaved (it doesn't creep or spread far) and low maintenance. I'd like to plant more of it - too bad I have no idea what it is. Can you help?

It is currently located in Kansas, Zone 5, blooms throughout the Summer.

  • Can you identify this caterpillar?

It is smooth and brown with some white spots on its head. It has a white, debris-covered cocoon. It was found on a bean bush, but there's another cocoon on a blackberry bush. It popped halfway out in the evening and started dragging its cocoon around with it.

  • Do you have a interesting pickled cucumber recipe?

I'm looking for some interesting recipes for preserving my cucumbers. I want to go beyond the standard sweet or dill pickles. Do you do anything interesting to your cucumbers? Do you throw in other vegetables? Do you use an interesting spice mix?

I'd like to can them for later use, to the recipe should be compatible with a hot water bath canner.

  • What's the best way to handle planting a persimmon tree in Winter?

I have the opportunity to get a couple of mature persimmon trees, but we have snow on the ground. Our high temperatures for the next few days are in the high 30s F, low 40s F. Should I just remove the snow from the area and start digging? Should I wait for it to melt? What's the best way to store them if it ends up taking me a couple of days to get the holes dug?

  • Itchy kitten - what is it?

My seven month old kitten has been itchy around her neck and cheeks since she was just a couple of months old. Previously, there had been no indication of an ailment, so I assumed she had dry skin. I asked the vet to look and they said it looked like she had cat acne and I could clean it with rubbing alcohol. I couldn't spot anything to clean. Recently I've noticed a couple of red bumps, which are obviously itchy (she's scratched one so hard that the skin around it is turning red, but the others are difficult to see under the fur of her neck).

I've read that feline acne is usually black, and these look more like hives (or bug bites - except I'm certain she doesn't have fleas). Is it really acne? How do I clean the stuff that's hard to reach or see?

  • My cat needs to lose weight, but it's not happening. What else can I do?

For a little over a month, my 3 year old spayed female has been on a diet. Pro Plan weight loss formula (dry), 1/3 of a cup a day. She gets fed twice a day and is very hungry in between. I police the food for the other cats in the house to make sure she doesn't get any more.

We have a kitten, so she's been getting a lot of extra exercise for the past month, too.

She's hungry all the time, but doesn't seem to have lost an ounce. She only needs to slim down a pound or two, but it just isn't happening.

The vet says she's healthy, and that she's just one of those girls who have trouble losing weight.

I've looked into other dry food, including specialty food, and they don't really compare favorably enough in terms of fat/protein ratio that I think they'll make a difference.

What else can I try? I'd like specific brand suggestions.

  • What kinds of berry bushes can I plant in Kansas?

I'm looking to expand my garden and I was wondering what kinds of berry bushes are successful in Kansas?

Are there any limitations to what will grow?

I am most interested in raspberries, strawberries, blueberries and blackberries.

  • What is the best dry cat food, in your experience?

Right now both my cats eat Science Diet Indoor Formula (dry), and Fancy Feast wet at night. I have no complaints about the Fancy, but I'm thinking of changing dry foods.

What I'm looking for is something the same price or less as Science Diet, which is commonly available (at Petco). I am not looking to change my cats to an all-wet diet, and I don't really care if their food is organic or not.

My Cats are Indoor only; one is around 5 years old, and prone to hairballs and the occasional regurgitation of food, and the other one is around 2 years old. Neither has any diet restrictions.

If there's something I can pick up in my own grocery store (which I'm not holding my breath for), all the better. And obviously, anything that saves a little money is bonus.

  • Do I qualify for British citizenship through my father?

Both of my parents are British citizens and I was born overseas in 1982. I gather that I am eligible to register as a British citizen through my mother at this point.

Am I also eligible to register through my father? If so, what form would I use?

I ask for the sake of convenience, since I have easier access to his original documents.
