  • Should America split up?

Has the US come to the point where it should split up like the USSR did? There is so much disunity in this country that we can no longer operate as a functioning country. You have black vs. white, rich vs. poor, Republican vs. Democrat, producers vs. leaches. Why not just split the country into 3 or 4 Sociopolitical "states" and people can go to what part they want to be part of a more homogeneous society that can actually get things done. And when one of the states fail then the others have no responsibility to bail them out.

Would that even be viable? I just got the idea reading about the split between the Eastern and Western Roman empires.

  • In light of long standing racial issues...?

Was Malcolm X right all along? Should there be racial separation since the values of each individual race will never be the same? Like would the view of racism diminish if it was all black, white, hispanic, or other school districts, police, government officials, and so forth. That way it would truly be for the people by the people. Then the failings of court decisions, school system, government subsidies, and etc. cannot be blamed on racism.

Granted, the federal government would have to give up rights back to the states and communities so they can be free to enforce their laws.

    What do you think?

  • Should federal laws (or the U.S. Government) be dissolved for State's Rights?

This is the question I have. If the nation will never agree again, why not go back to a Confederation of States. There is such division among the country state-to-state, that would it be better if the executive branch was eliminated and States would determine what was best for the country based on what was best for their states?

  • Help joining a specific US Army battalion?

I am an Officer Candidate getting ready to graduate OCS, and I selected Transportation during branching selection. I know that I have BOLC II and TBOLC left, but I was already looking into units to join. The specific BN I want to join is the 835th or 836th Transportation Battalion. Does anyone know how I would start to set myself up to hopefully join either one of these?

  • Question about X-Box 360 power source?

Recently, my power "block" shorted out on my X-Box 360, and I was wondering if I splice the wires from the plug directly to the X-Box 360 (dipassing the power box) would the X-Box 360 still turn on and function.

  • Questions about US Army OCS?

Has anyone been through OCS before. I am going to it in a month, and I was wondering what is was like. Exercises, curriculum, daily routine; any information that you could give would be helpful.

  • A plan to help counteract terrorist activities in Iraq and Afganistan.?

I was thinking of this plan to counteract terrorist activities in the War on Terror. We all know that the most common weapon used by terrorists (short of possibly improvised explosive devices) is the AK-47. Why convert some of our current ammunition production facilities for the US military to the production of 7.62 x 39mm rounds used in the AK-47. Model them after the most prevailant rounds used today (namely Wolf Ammunition and Chinese producers) but instead of filling them with powder fill them with C4. Then air drop the dummy rounds all over the countries and let terrorist forces take and use them. When the fire the rounds it explodes, at worst destroying the weapon and at best killing the user. At the same time, work with the government to start working on weapon restriction to cut down on civilian casualties. Also, put special markings on them (Like spelling Wolf "Wulf") so that our allies can be informed and not hurt themselves. What is your opinion on the idea?

  • Putting current political events to song?

I was thinking of a funny concept of comparing current political events to songs I have heard. The one that rung in my head first was Obama's recent problem with Rev. Wright. Almost perfect with the song "Jesus Just Left Chicago" by ZZ Top.

Anyone else have some funny song comparisons to current events?

  • Question about what to do at Officer Candidate School board?

To begin with, I don't need any answers related to not joining or anything negative about the armed services. There are plenty of other posts that such talk is for.

Alright, I have recently completed my paper work for US Army OCS, and have to go to MEPS in a few days. When typing my paperwork, my recruiter changed some of the information, in particular my drug experimentation (3 times on my week of Christmas Break) 2 and a half years ago and my being injured 2 weeks later on the job (non-related) and failing a drug test at the hospital I was taken to. After all the paper work was completed and submitted, he told me to come out side and have a cigarette. Outside he explained how he changed it, and advised that if asked about past drug use I should deny it since I didn't have the business I was fired from on my list of past jobs (as I had 3 jobs and 3 periods of unemployment to fill them). Basically don't shot myself in the foot.

If asked about drug use, should I deny it?
