  • propelling a little hot wheel car using a mousetrap, hot glue, and popsicle sticks?

as a science project, i need to make a contraption that can propel a standard size hot wheel car down a 10 meter track as fast as possible. i am given a mousetrap, some hot glue, and popsicle sticks, but it is important that i use as little popsicle sticks as possible.

The car cannot fly into the air, and i am allowed to take apart the mousetrap to use the pieces it includes.

i have a general idea, but when i try to make it work the car either flies up into the air, or does not go fast. (i have tried making a basket type thing, and a flinger)

  • 3 easy science questions on forces?

A car is parked on a hill. In order to keep the car from rolling downhill, how great must the static friction acting on the car be?

equal to the force pulling the car downhill

greater than the force pulling the car downhill

greater than the force pulling the car uphill

smaller than the force pulling the car uphill

I know its either greater than force pulling car uphill or equal than the force pulling it uphill, but i can only pick one answer, which is it?

A game of tug-of-war is an example of

    rolling friction.

    air resistance.

    streamlining.

    unbalanced forces

also, for this one i put unbalanced forces, only cause the other choised dont make sense to me.

The friction between the bristles of your toothbrush and the surfaces of your teeth is an example of

    rolling friction.

    static friction.

    helpful friction.

    All of the above

im pretty sure this isnt rolling friction, so its between static friction and helpful friction. im guessing helpful

please answer what you can :) thank you

  • easy science question, about balanced forces?

Which of the following best illustrates balanced forces?

a rock falling to the ground

a stretched rubber band being held between two hands

a person lifting a heavy box off of the ground

a crash between a large truck and a train

I put the rubber band one because the band is being held steady by the hands, therefore a balanced force?

  • Martin Luther VS. Catholic Church?

In my world studies class, we are creating a debate of Martin Luther vs. the Catholic Church. I am on the side that has to go against the Catholic Church. On my side I have Martin Luther, John Calvin, and one other random person, and on the opposing team they have the pope and two other people.

Does anybody have any ideas of questions I can ask my witnesses or cross examine the other teams witnesses?

  • device that wont let you start your car unless you are under legal blood alcohol content?

Does anyone know what its called? i know that some people who are constantly caught for DUIs have a thing in their car that they have to blow into before their car starts. If they are under the limit they can drive, but if they are over their car wont start.

  • what is it called when an author switches between two peoples points of view?

Im not sure if there is really a specific name for this, but i am reading a story where one chapter will be about a medical examiner, the next chapter will be about the victim, and the third will be about the bad guys.

The entire story is in third person omniscient, and just in case it matters, it is "Critical" by Robin Cook

  • What game is this? almost like a charade type?

I played this awesome game a while back and i really wanted to know what it was.

You picked five cards and put them in these slots. Then you start a timer of some sort and you act out the cards in order, and if the audience guessed it before the card falls down, you pull it out. If they dont guess it, the card falls down and you move on to the next one...

Just ask if you need more details!

  • Is it weird to sometimes really want to hurt what you love?

We just got kittens, and i love them to death! so much that i want to squeeze them or bite them. Sometimes with my sister when i really just love her to death i want to punch her...

Even for myself, if i have a bruise, i like to poke it hard. When i cook, i have an incredible urge to touch the pot that i know is burning hot.

Now obviously i resist this, and i am completely normal other than this part here. I would like to say that i am very patient and loving, but could this mean that i might be abusive when i get older? Why do i want to do this?
