  • Why does the clock in my car only work in cooler weather?

I have a 2005 Toyota Matrix. It has a digital clock that will only work when the weather gets cooler. In fact, the cooler the weather is, the brighter the numbers are. And it keeps good time when it works. I don't even have to re-set it when it decides to work. I like the clock and would like for it to work all the time. What is wrong with it and can it be fixed easily?

  • Boxes come up in a loop and I have to restart my computer to get rid of them. Why? How do I correct this?

This is something that hasn't happened in a very long time. I go to a website and a box comes up or something I have clicked on and then the boxes start multiplying ridiculously. The only way to stop it is to restart or turn off my computer. I want to know why this happens and how do I prevent it from happening because it's becoming a problem.

  • What fun activities can I do with my daughter-in-law to grow, make memories and solidify our relationship?

We went thrift shopping already. I posted my question previously and got 2 ideas, one to look at pictures of my son growing up and the other to scrapbook pictures. I have an idea to have a tea party with the picture viewing and make some spiced tea to send home with her. Does anyone have more ideas for future ventures? They must not be expensive since we are both on a budget, but I think can spare a little more than she can on the ideas.

  • What fun activities can I do with my daughter-in-law to grow, make memories and solidify our relationship?

We went thrift shopping which we both enjoy and out to eat recently. I have a tea set and I thought I could make something special and use the set to serve. She is big on tea rooms and would like that, but I don't want to just eat finger sandwiches and look at each other. What else can we do with it to make this a sharing memory? More different ideas for other get togethers would be appreciated also. We need some that don't take any or very much money in the mix too.

  • Any ideas for decorating a trunk to use for a coffee table?

I will be receiving a flat top trunk that is already painted a plain beige or some other light color that doesn't go with anything I have in my livingroom. I want to use it for a coffee table. It will need painting and I want to do something to modernize it. Any ideas would greatly be appreciated!

  • What styling mousse ($3-$5) will NOT flake all over and look like white paint in your hair?

I like the hold and control of aussie aussome volume styling mousse, maximum hold, but after I pick it some to loosen it up a bit, it looks like I brushed up against fresh white paint and it flakes all over the place. I have thick naturally curly, frizzy hair but mousse will keep the frizz down and make it have smooth curls. Mousse seems to be easier to apply to my hair than other types of styling products. I also use a defrizz product in addition to the mousse. Does anyone have something they know of with comparible cost and results without the flakes and paint look?

  • I want to transfer a raised design...?

I am refurbishing my mother's bird feeders for her. What would be the easiest way to transfer a raised (moth) design from a cermic piece to a painted metal roof on a b ird feeder? I want to repeat the moth design on the roof but I don't think I can free hand paint it.

  • Why? Email forwards...?

We all get interesting emails we would like to forward. Why don't the images (pictures) sometimes don't show up when forwarded?

For instance I rec'd an email with pics. I forwarded it to several friends I thought would enjoy it, including myself at another email address. The pics did not show up...BUT when they responded to say there were no pics...the pics showed up on mine at least that one time.

If I hit forward and the pics don't show in the body, I usually won't send it for that reason because I have tested it several times in the past and they just don't show.

Why does this happen and how can I remedy it? Or can it be remedied? Anyone know?

  • What would be right and fair?

Here's the situation. I had to leave my job and we lived on the premises. My sister and family graciously opened her home to me and my daughter August 10 or thereabouts. I got a job about a month and a half ago but it is temporary, so I don't feel comfortable moving out until I find a permanent job. I need to pay them room and board because it is the right and fair thing to do but we have all been uncomfortable with the money issue and don't know what would be right and fair to us all. I am hoping I can get some kind of percentage we can go with. Here are some details: I work 9:30-6:30 for $13/hr and usually get 40 hrs a week. We are putting up some for for the future apt/rent deposits, etc. We have some reI am actively looking for a permanent job with more reasonable hours (8-5) so my daughter won't be alone for long after school when we move out, but so far I haven't found anything. Again we are wanting a percentage or something to go on because none of us know what to go on

  • Does anyone have a clue where I can find a recipe for...?

the Honey Mustard sauce they have a Popeye's Chicken? They are incredibly selfish with the little cups and charge you a quarter for each extra one. It's great on grilled salmon, too. I have looked high and low and found copy cat honey mustard recipes from Chili's, Applebees, etc., everywhere but Popeye's. I would like to have the one for Popeye's Honey Mustard!

  • What are the differences in...?

What's the difference between a relaxer and a perm?

What is the expected goal of each one for your hair?

Are there any pros and cons with each one?

  • Would this work?

I am caucasian with naturally (thightly) curled hair. It gets frizzy when the air is humid even if I use frizz control products. I don't mind having curly hair, it's the frizz that I dislike. I have chemically straightened my hair before and it worked quite well, but I believe that I should keep it curly to kind of disguise thinner hair at my temples. If I were to get a perm and use very large rods, would this make my hair have larger curls and help eliminate some of the frizz. The straighting process did help the frizz problem in the past. My goal is essentially to make the curls larger and looser and as I stated above, try to eliminate some of the frizz. The very ends of my hair in the back have not all grown out from the straighting process. Part of the solution I am looking for is to curl the straightened ends a bit so they will blend in more also. What do you experienced hair people think? Have you tried this yourself and did it work for you?

  • What would make a cat be suddenly paranoid for no apparant reason?

He's not running fever. He's eating as long as he feels safe. He hides for no reason. He's not following his regular routine because he's too busy hiding and slinking. I can drag him out and he will sit by me as he normally does as long as I pet him. He lurks around to eat and visit his cat box. This morning I played with him and he was playing with his favorite toy, a stick with strings on it, but he wouldn't hardly leave the "safety" between the chairs. If he was enticed by his toy to leave the safety, he would realize it and hurry back. Finally, I left him there to get ready for work and a little later I went to check to see if he was still there. In this paranoid state, he felt threatened by me, his favorite person, and started spitting at me. He let me pet him but he quickly made his way around me and hurriedly ran low to the bedroom to hide under the bed. I don't understand it. He's not showing any obvious sick symptoms.

  • Slimming a Fat Cat?

I have a 5 yr. old large boned cat. He looks somewhat overweight. He weighes about 20 lbs. I have had him about 4 years and he has been on controlled, measured feeding of Weight Management cat food at least 3 of the 4 years. He was originally on Hill's Science Diet, but it consists of tiny pieces. He would hog it down without chewing and gag and choke himself, so I switched to Nutro Max Indoor Weight Management with has slightly bigger pieces that he is forced to chew so it slows him down. Both of our cats seem to like Nutro Max better also.

This large cat is happy and well. He's active, he plays, he runs, he jumps and he entertains himself when he's not playing with the other cat or us. In other words, he gets regular exercise.

He never has lost any weight. We have entered him in the household division of the cat show for 3 yrs. now and he doesn't get many ribbons because most judges consider him fat.

  • Did anyone see how to make the pop open treats from the cardboard tissue rolls featured on Martha Stewart?

It was during October when they did the Halloween crafts and decorations. I went home for lunch, turned on the TV and just missed how to make them. The part I missed had something to do with a ribbon or string attached somehow. Martha and one of her camera men each pulled the ribbon or string from each end and, it popped open and the treats fell out. I tried looking on her web site, but I wasn't sure what they were called and my search didn't reveal anything like that. If I can find out how to make them, I thought they would make really cool treat filled stocking stuffers for my kids this year.

  • Deleted Emails?

Hitting delete to correct an error while composing email, takes u to desktop which obviously deletes the email. VERY annoying, particularly if you just wrote a "book" to someone. Never did this before computer crash several mo. ago. Why now? I've tried to see if there is something to change in options, preferences, etc., but can't find anything. Any ideas on how I can change this action? If so, Help! And I have rebooted many times for other whatever reasons and that didn't solve the problem.
