How to burn drm removed iTunes TV shows to disc for my dvd player on a mac?
I have found the full version of M4VConverterPlus great for removing the drm from my iTunes tv shows and movies converting them MP4 files that I can export. I just find it hard to burn them to disc in a format that my dvd player will recognise and is of good quality with this program. If I export the MP4 files to iSkysoft or Aimersoft I can burn them to DVD5 which works great but I am loathed to buy the full versions so the copies are watermarked. Can anyone suggest a free program or tell me the options to select with M4VConverterPlus for good quality DVD playable copy. DRM is so unfair. I have bought the darned thing, not pirated it, and I just would rather watch it on the telly with my family rather than huddle around the monitor! Any advice greatly appreciated!

12 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoGlucosamine for an older dog who is stiff and unhappy at times.?
Are human tablets OK? If so what is the dose for ongoing treatment or would plain fish oil be an alternative? My dog gets sore when he over does it and it is cold and damp. What drugs do vets use for pain relief in dogs? Can I give aspirin? I have given him a heat pack tonight but I just wish he could tell me where to put it!

2 AnswersOther - Computers1 decade agoStart a car in neutral or in gear?
I always start and leave my car in gear, a friend says I am crazy and that a car is always started and left in neutral as long as you aren't on a hill (when you leave it in gear). Have I learned to drive wrong? Also at lights, traffic jams etc I leave my foot on the clutch but my friend says I should always put it out of gear (handbrake on) cos my leg will get tired but I thought you shouldn't be in neutral whilst driving, even when stationary?

I have family visiting next year and things are going to be a squeeze in our little house. Are there any companies that provide delivery and short term rental of prefab rooms or similar with basic facilities? We have plenty of land.
1 AnswerOther - Home & Garden1 decade agoShift work is doing us in...how do you cope?
I have recently returned to work and have 3 kids. My husband and I both work shifts and things are pretty crazy. The good thing is that apart from about 2 hours a week the kids have a parent home, (they are old enough) the bad thing is that we have no ''weekend'' or ''breaking up'' day. My husband and I were laughing today that together we only miss out on being paid for a few hours every day between us, someone's always at work! ''ships that pass in the night....'' doesn't quite sum it up!
Is anyone else out there dealing with the same challenges? How do you cope?

4 AnswersParenting1 decade agoThe best vegetarian pie recipe....can you inspire me?
I love making pies and would love to have a bit of a stockpile (in the freezer) for days when everyone is flat out. I have mastered the vegetable-cheese sauce variety and the brown lentil / tomato ''mince'' thing. I am really looking for some other favourites that will appeal to the whole family.
Please share any favourite recipes.
Thanks for your time.
PS Unusual cheeses are welcomed!
5 AnswersVegetarian & Vegan1 decade agoWhich debt to tackle first?
Our family income has recently increased and we can now afford to allocate an additional $1000 monthly to paying off some debt and/ or saving. We have a maxed out credit card ($2000) that we basically ignore (!) other than throwing minimum payments at, a personal loan (7 years) of $5000 and an 85K mortgage. We have no arrears or other financial woes but also no significant savings.
How would this money work best for us?
18 AnswersPersonal Finance1 decade agoMoon help....D'oh!?
If I can see the moon during the day how does that work for the rest of the world? If ''my moon'' is final quarter is that the same for everyone else? Why does the moon in Australia look so different (facially!?) from the moon in the UK?
5 AnswersAstronomy & Space1 decade agoMortgage advise...extra income, should it be our priority?
I am going back to work after several years off raising kids. This move will see our (modest) family income rise to more than double its current rate. We currently have a home loan of $85000. I want to match the repayments my husband has been making so we are effectively paying 200% our repayment requirements. Is this a good plan or would the additional income be better spent on a second mortgage for an investment (rental) property? Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
The bank says they would lend us $300000 based on our predicted combined incomes, is this too good to be true? I feel very wary about paying 50% of our income in loan repayments! Is that the norm?
Payments of 200% our required monthly repayment would be much less of an impact but will it make a big difference in our loan term?

Colin (our kitten) would be nearly 10 weeks old. This last week he has been sneezing and has had sticky eyes. He is otherwise well, eating, gaining weight and playful. He has had his first set of vaccinations and is not due till the end of the month for the next lot. He is also booked to be neutered at the beginning of June. Do I proceed as normal?

6 AnswersOther - Computers1 decade agoHow much pocket money for a pre-teen?
My kids all get $10 fortnightly for their personal use ($5 guaranteed, $5 if chores are done). This is strictly personal cash. I still pay for lunches, excursions, canteen etc. My eldest daughter now has a mobile and I also give her $20 fortnightly credit, that seems like a lot to me (most of it is used texting friends in the evening where a 5 minute phone call would be sufficient). Just wondering how other parents manage pocket money with their kids. Looking for some ideas regarding 'normal' pocket money range (my 11 YO tells me some friends get $50 a week) whilst attempting to encourage a sense that money isn't easy to come by,and saving is important if you really want something. Any input much appreciated.
16 AnswersGrade-Schooler1 decade agoNames in a small world...what to avoid?
I have loved reading everyone's name suggestions, there's such a huge difference it what people think constitutes a nice name. I saw the name Devon mentioned, its a good name, but in Australia it is also the popular word for Luncheon meat...eek!
In high school 40% of the boys were called Andrew, they all had to go by there family names...OK for all the Punchy ''smithys'' and those fortunate enough to have a family name like Hudson or John but what about the poor ''Tidmouths'',''Littlejohns'' and ''Higginbottoms''?
Anyway, to get to the point, in a world where our kids are more and more likely to travel and mix with others from overseas online etc any absolute No-No's?This could be cos they are the brand name of a contraceptive, slang for a toilet/ imbecile, or because they are the name of 50% of your countries prison population or toddlers playgroup mates. Whatever is vulgar or just plain awful where you are let's list it so that poor parents can first eliminate a few rotten names
9 AnswersBaby Names1 decade agoWhat is it reasonable for an 11 y.o to do on her own socially?
Go shopping in the mall? meet friends for lunch? Cycle on busy streets, cross busy roads alone?
I know I am being a bit overprotective of my daughter but I wondered what others let their pre-teens get up to without them! She is sensible, mature and I do trust her. She came home from a sleepover with a friend whose parents had dropped them at the mall to go shopping and to the cinema alone. It had never crossed my mind to let her do that before. Maybe I am holding on too tight? She cycles and walks alone or with friends at home freely (as long as I get an approximate return time) but we live in a tiny rural community.
I dread being one of those fussing overprotective mothers but want her to have a childhood too.
What do other 11 yo's get up to?
22 AnswersAdolescent1 decade agoHandbrake...when I put it on do I press the ''button'' in?
I always thought that you press the button in when you take off but simply pull it up (with the 'noise' ) when you stop. My new car needed an handbrake adjustment at my first service...is this cos I am wrong, the car is weird, or the fact that my DH has reversed out of the drive with it on a couple of times?
Any explanations of how it all works greatly appreciated!
