Ok, I have a question. Above my kitchen sink there is an old light with a pull string. I took it down to replace it, but there is only a red wire and black wire. It looks as though the black one is wired to the pull string and the red one to the area nexrt to the bulb. Which is hot?? Is there no ground? My home was built in the 1940s. There is no switch that controls the light, only the pull cord. Any suggestions??

He fell on a piece of plastic 3 months ago and hit the blacktop hard. He was seriously injured. He went to the hospital, and an x-ray showed he had a broken vertebra in his neck. The store took his information, but offered no help. He went from being totally functional to using a cane and walker, and has severe back pain.He had an MRI, and now, after a visit last week to a back specialist, he found out he has to have 2 rods and a steel plate in his back, AND, 3 months of therapy and wearing a brace. Should he contact a lawyer?? Just curious... Should he sue for hospital expenses and pain and suffering?? If so, will he ask for a settlement or will they offer something? He actually made his way into the store, and the worker DIDN'T OFFER HIM AN AMBULANCE! He has serious had to change his life since this... He is only 66 and got around great until this. The insurance company actually called him and said they were responsible... Any suggestions?

This was time over 40 hours we weren't paid for. I was working 45+ hours per week, but only being paid for 40. Then 5 months after I work there (there was a 4 month evaluation period) I was fired. The reason being I was sick with an ear infection/fever and had a Dr's excuse for two days of work. I ONLY missed one day. Then, she called me into her office and let me go. Come to find out, I was fired on Thursday, and she moved a man from Corporate office into my position on Monday. It was a total set up. Can she fire me for being sick?? Also my unemplyment may not go through, I got a "Notice of Determination" in the mail, talking about Appeal Rights. Can someone tell me if there are certain laws about being fired in KY? I never even had a write up or anything. Also, is Comp Time illegal? Any Advice??

I may need to reformat it, but I have lost my disk. Are there websites I can go too? Its a Dell, its a nice computer, and only a few years old. Its a Dell Dimension E510. Is there an anti-virus disk I can buy or will I have to reformat it completely? Its running so slow, and all these random internet explorer pop ups keeping appearing. Can someone help?????

Can I be a paid employee... like the executive director?? How much can I pay myself and my staff?? Can this be done with grants or does the salary need to paid from fund raising and donations? What should I know about setting up a non-profit and where I can go to search for grants?? This is a much needed organization for HIV/AIDS prevention, and education in my area. I want to dedicate my life to this!

I recently bought a red 94 BMW 325ic in MINT condition. This car is completely original, just under 100K, and looks and drives fantastic... however somewhere between 2500-3000 RPM's the car starts to surge. It only does this until you give it more gas, or let off the gas. Also, it doesn't do this all the time, just 2500-3000 RPM's and usually on a hill. Anyone have a clue what this could be? Whats making the car surge? I'm open to any/all comments suggestions. This is the only flaw the car has, and I want to have it fixed... just not sure what it could be.

I lived in my past apartment for 2 1/2 year. I fulfilled my lease, which was for 1 year only. I moved out without giving a 30 days notice. The date I vacated was on 12/9. My rent was roughly $23 a day ($700/mo) So basically I owed 9 days rent. My deposit was for $350. My landlord is trying to keep my WHOLE deposit, AND charge me another $357. What should I do? Can they keep the whole deposit and charge me more? The only problem in the place was a few unchanged light bulbs, and a cabinet door hinge which had broken. I cleaned, mopped, and vaccumed. I even shampooed the carpet. Shouldnt the security deposit cover my rent for 9 days and the hinge??? The state is Kentucky. What are the laws here??

also, how much would it cost to ADD a 1/2 bath onto my house? how much to remodel my existing bath? i want to remove wall tile, add new tub, sink, faucets, and drywall??? how long is the process?

How much would an admissions/marketing director make for a nursing/rehab facility? Also, do they make a bonus per admission? How does this work? Also, if the candidate has a BA degree... does that make a difference??

I found a home I like... its bank owned and priced at 65K. The house has potential, but needs new windows, a new roof, new gutters, new flooring, and has molding on the inside. It is 1000sq feet, and 2 bedrooms, 1 bath. Besides the listed above, it needs appliances, and major cosmetics. At 65K, how much less should I offer for the place? I like it, but its not worth that price... and the realtor told me she had only received one offer on the place... a very low one... what should I offer for the place considering I can do most of the work with my father...?

How can I view this property, and can the guy still live there legally? How can a property that isn't even visible from the highway, be sold if you cant even see the house? Can you use Night Effects if you have the clear plastic retainer? I didn't see anything about this on the package. I'm assuming the gel will just stay in contact with the teeth better... but I wear my retainer nightly. Anyone know pros, cons??
