My duboisi cichlid (juvinile) has been acting strangely. My fish has been swimming parallel to my water heater, in a downwards motion. that's all that it does the whole day.

THEN a week ago its belly (normally black) has began to turn grey. It is not cotton wool disease. Its like the skin turned grey. he ha sent been eating, as far I can tell.

Anyone know?

Hey guys, so this week I am going to get a 36 gallon fish tank for some African Cichlids, and i have been trying to convince them for this fish tank for 2 years already (I'm 14)

and i am trying to convince them to get this 56 gallon tank, which takes up as much space as the 36 gallon, but its just taller in shape. My dad is worried about just the commitment of buying a tank that's twice the size of the original tank we had in mind, but i really really want that 56 gallon tank.

Does anyone have any suggestions or tips as to how to convince them? Thanks! :)

Should i get African or american cichlids? I have a tank that is set up for either kind of cichlet, but i am unsure of what kind of cichleds to get. This is a really hard question for me. Please answer! and also What are the pro's and cons of each?

I know that the African cichlets have more color, but american ciclets are more peacefull and you can get ram and angelfish.

I am getting a new tank, and i am considering getting either a Cichlid tank, or a Tropical Community tank. Options with fish? Pros and cons? Colorwise and schooling? I like fish with good personality, and are active with good colors. My only stores are Petsmart and Petco. All answers welcome.

Ok, so I have one 2.5 inch comet goldfish, another one 2/3 that big, and two small ones at least half their sized. They have been in a new fish bowl for a couple of weeks, when i moved them to a new rectangular tank. 3 days ago, one of my small goldfish dissapeared (he was the 3rd biggest). and then today morning, there were still 3 goldfish in the tank. when I came home from school, the smallest one was gone. I checked the surrounding area, but no trace. My tank is a well planted tank, with half the tank with open space.

I was wondering if you have to rub in the sunscreen that you spray with.

I have a 20 gallon tank, with neon tetras, guppies, mollies, dwarf chilids, cherry barbs and my cory catfish. Can I move my Tiger barbs (school of 5) into that tank?

I have a similar 39 gallon tank stocked similarly, should i move my tiger barbs into there?

P.S. will a 8 inch bala shark eat my tiger barbs?

I have a 4 guppy frys, and ive had them for a long time. the smallest are 1.3 Cementer long, can i move them to my 5 gallon tropical fish tank, where I have a couple of small tetras, white clouds and a cory catfish.

when does the petsmart fish station close? i want to know if i can get my fish at 8:00. thanks.

My tank is a 2.5 gallon, no filter and no light, the guppies died when I was on vacation for 7 days, my fish started dying on my fifth day.

I have had no problem with my fish before, I live in a two story house, and bred them myself, and during vacation I moved my fish to a nearby friends one story house.

If I look From the top, half a day before they die, their backs (whole back) starts to turn a blackish color. then they swim a bit side ways with less water control.

they seem to be getting weaker as they die, when they die they die on their sides.

two days before I gave my friend my fish, I added three plastic plants to my tank.

I have checked my water levels, they are very good with soft freshwater.

My friend also takes care of their own guppies sucessfully. Their fish were fine.

my two other tanks I have given them have gotten sick two, my two goldfish died, and my other two gallon with 10 guppies died.

I took them home yesterday, but two more died overnight (I was out the whole day today) and as I got home, one of my guppies died as I was removing my other fish to clean the tank.
