I tried writing it out using formula for avg of a function,

1/k-1 integ(2kx) from 1 to k = 1/k-1 integ(kx^2) from 1 to k

Expanding, I got 2k^4 - 6k^3 + k = 0.

I am not allowed to use calculators in my course, and the solutions for k are decimal values that I cannot understand how to get without a calc.

Or am I doing this wrong and there is no k?

I'm in the IB program, and as a diploma requirement, we have to do a group-initiated CAS project. CAS stands for Creativity, Action, and Service. Our project must combine two out of those three. My friends and I are planning to do a documentary, about 15-30 minutes long, but we are short on ideas. We could always do the traditional First Nations one, or talking about sex and gender equality, but we want something new and not already overdone. It needs to connect to service to the community, so an idea that would benefit society in some way. Possibly by raising awareness for the issue. Any ideas would be great..Thanks!

I am doing a comparison essay on Things Fall Apart and Macbeth. Why do the writers include these strong female characters in a male dominated society? Why couldn't they just write a novel (or play) about the rise and fall of a tragic hero WITHOUT the use of female leads?

I need to do a passage analysis (the passage can be no longer than 20 lines) from chapter six in Things Fall Apart, by Chinua Achebe. We need to focus on ONE of the following: character development, theme development, or plot development. The task is to explain why the passage is important to the chapter as a whole, not to summarize the chapter.

It has to be a concise paragraph with a clear topic sentence.

I picked out two passages, the one that explains Chielo, and the song at the end of the chapter, which praises Okafo. Are there are other passages that might be better? I keep getting stuck and I don't know what to write.
