  • Need opinion on medical malpractice? issue. Legal advice please!?

I had surgery on 2-17-10 to have a fibroid and 2 polyps removed from my uterus. The surgery went well but 2 days after I started to have excessive bleeding, swelling and quite a bit of pain. Im going to try to make this as short as possible but its a little extensive. My doctor sent me to the ER after returning my 9am phone call after hours. The ER was really busy but did an ultrasound and consulted with the doctor on call from my OB's office. They said it all sounded normal after my surgery. I returned to my doctor the next day and she said I was having a reaction to the sterile water they used to flush my uterus during surgery and it will just go away on its own. It did not get better and sometimes the pain was so bad that I couldn't even stand up. Bleeding was very very heavy so I went back to the doctors office and saw a doctor that had been with the practice much longer and thought would be able to help me more. He said I had an infection and put me on meds including 3 birth control pills a day to get bleeding under control. The bleeding went down to a light amount. I went back for a follow up 1 week later and he said to go back to normal once a day birth control and he would see me in 3 months. Well the bleeding and pain started full force again on the weekend and the office suggested I go to ER again! I choose to wait til monday and went to see the doctor again. He said it was my hormones being out of whack and it was a matter of getting them under control. He switched my birth control pill to a stronger one and said we would just have to see how it went to come back in a week. The next day I felt as if I were in labor and passed a large piece of tissue (this is 4 weeks after surgery). I called the doctor and he said it was normal and blew me off again. I tried to explain I was still in alot of pain so he called in an antibiotic to my pharmacy. Ugghhh!! It took me a while but I got smart and found a new doctor:) After having 2 more ultrasounds done we have found out that the fibroid was never removed and there is also one polyp remaining. It has been 8 weeks since the surgery and I am still lightly bleeding although the pain has subsided. This is a rather large fibroid and the doctor said it will be more than just a little procedure to remove it. It wasnt something that could have been missed during the original surgery and I was told it was removed and non cancerous according to the biopsy.

I don't even know if I have a case but I do know that I have major medical bills from this first surgery and don't feel like I should be responsible for them. I will now have the additional expenses of another surgery to complete what the first one should have. I would love any legal advice as to whether I should pursue hiring a lawyer. I would never sue someone for anything frivilous and am not looking for a lawsuit around every corner but I am really frustrated with this whole situation. I have had over 8 weeks taken away from my life when it should have been a one day recovery. Thanks for any info!!

  • What do you know about Parvo?

I recently fostered a puppy that was rescued from a shelter. The people said they found him but that was in serious question. His name was Bufford and he was the absolute sweetest 5 month old Basset hound I have ever met. I was planning on being a foster failure and adopt him myself because he was awesome. 4 days after coming into my home he got an upset tummy and I took him into the vet I work at immediately. He had an doggie ice cream the night before and I figured it didn't agree with him. We did a parvo test just in case and guess what.....positive. We started treatment immediately, hospitalization during the day and I would give meds and love him at night. On the third day when we should be getting better he had to spend the night at the emergency hospital. During this time he started to have bloody diarrhea which is a common thing with parvo and he spiked a fever. Within hours my poor baby was vomiting pure blood and could not even open his eyes. He passed away that day and took my heart with him. This could have been prevented by a SIMPLE vaccine!! Pets are not free and require care, they are not disposable and most don't even make it out of the shelter. Please think very carefully before you get a pet and take it to the vet so this doesn't happen again! Thank you for reading, if I can prevent one puppy from dying it is worth it.

  • Ive been having dreams about death?

For the past month I have had dreams about people dying. They happen on random separate occasions and are really starting to bother me. The first was my boyfriend, then his dad, then myself, my step mom and I can't remember who it was last night but I know it was someone. I am really worried about what these could mean and I would greatly appreciate any help!

  • Who do you think should win a divorce?

I need everyones help desperately! I need votes for a friend to win a divorce, a contest on a local radio station. Her husband left her by voice mail saying by the time she got the message he would be out of our state. He hadn't been paying the bills and her house got foreclosed on and her car repossessed. He was in charge of the finances and she found out only after he left when the bills started coming in. He left her in over $250,000 in debt and she lives day to day like the rest of us. She was diagnosed with cancer and when she called him (after tracking him down at his mommy and daddy's house) and he laughed when she told him she needed help with medical bills! We can change her life! I just need as many people that can spare 3 minutes to log on to http://foxspacelive.com/pages/chad.html and vote for CHERYL! I know it is hard to give to others when we ourselves don't have alot but this is only minutes of your time. You could change her life! Thanks!!

  • Can I winter an angels trumpet in my sunroom?

I have a huge angels trumpet and I am worried about finding somewhere in my home for it to winter over. I am in Michigan so it can not stay outside. I have a sun room attached to my home that is all windows so the plant will not get frost on it but it does get cold. There is also a hot tub in the sun room so it will be exposed to the humidity probably every day. Can I put it out there or should I leave it in the house?

  • I didnt know people were so clueless! Spay and neuter your pets.?

This isn't necessarily a question, its more of getting this off of my chest! I have worked at a vet for a long time, during this time I have fostered 100s of kittens because of irresponsible people. If you can not afford to spay or neuter your pet, then please don't get one. They are not disposable and they have feelings just like people. It makes me sick to read all of these my cat is pregnant what do I do questions............YOU SPAY THEM!!! You take them to a doctor when they have medical problems just like you would a child and most of all you just love them! You are the most important person in your pets life so don't just throw them outside or let them run around to get pregnant, be responsible. So many innocent animals are euthanized every year and you need to do your part to prevent it!
