Has America made a really good car in the past 30 years?
Of course some of these are subjective assessments but I've yet to drive an American car I liked in terms of efficiency, handling, build quality, innovation and styling. Can you name a make/model that's superior to a European or Japanese equivalent?
11 AnswersBuying & Selling1 decade agoWhat's your favourite brand of surf wax, and why?
Is it longer lasting? Does it provide more traction? Smells nice? Does it come in a range of hardnesses to suit local water temperatures?

I'd like to know from your experience how turning arc, speed and responsiveness differ.

The plant has clusters of small 3-lobed leaves (approx 1cm or 1/3 inch across) and yellow flowers. It's spread everywhere, in flower beds, the lawn and pot plants.

After all, we refer to "South Australia" rather than "Southern Australia".

I'd like to control my TV from a universal-remote control but cannot find the code to programme it.
NB, the remote does not learn from other remotes, I do need the actual code.
4 AnswersTVs1 decade agoZip-line / 'Flying Fox' near Sydney?
I'm looking for somewhere that has a zip-line (also known as a flying fox) near Sydney. I know there is a treetop adventure centre in WA and south QLD, but not seen any in NSW. If you can help you will make my wife very happy on her birthday!
2 AnswersNew South Wales (Sydney)1 decade agoWhy do Americans call it "horseback" riding, but other countries just "horse riding"?
Yes, we all know you ride on the horse's back - it's obvious. I'd like to know how the terms diverged historically, so if you know please share!
14 AnswersHorse Racing1 decade agoDoes the skin pattern in fake leather (leatherette) originally come from a real cow?
Did someone take an impression of real leather in order to emboss this into plastics, or is the texture created using some chemical method?
Here's an example of the texture I mean: http://www.automobiletrim.com/images/vinyls/heavy....
You sometimes see it in car dashboards etc, I assume to provide grip and reduce the appearance of marks.
I assume cows would have unique skin patterns, much like fingerprints. If real cow skin patterns are used, would that make the cow immortalised in texture form?
3 AnswersEngineering1 decade agoWhy do towels have woven strips at either end?
Nearly all bath and hand towels I've encountered have woven strips (i.e. areas that aren't usable for drying anything) close to the end about 2 inches/5cm wide running across their width. Why?
