Simple Man Of God

I am just what my name implies: a simple man of God. I do not usually fit in with the general world view, even that of the church, sometimes, but I have a wide variety of experiences and a fairly high IQ. I have also made my share of mistakes in life. I would be considered an anti-racist by any who know me, and am active in trying to stamp out racial profiling and stereotyping on every level. Any answers I give are carefully thought out, and are delivered with the utmost of caution and respect. I never intend to offend with my answers. The only reason I do this is to attempt to help people along this journey we call life. Adversity introduces a person to themselves, but a little help along the way can't hurt.

  • is the ECM computer for the 2004 Saturn Ion compatible with the 2003 Saturn Ion?

My ion had the electronic ignition control module replaced by the GM dealership, to the tune of $375.00 about two months ago. two weeks ago, the check engine light came on and the car suddenly dropped out of power. Had a mechanic check the codes (which he told me the MAP sensor had went out, charged me $30 for reading the codes, and was gonna charge me $90 for the part {got it at the parts house new for $50} and $90 to install {it took me two minutes cause it was a plug-and-play right on top of the engine} ) Advance Auto parts ran the codes again, told me it seemed like it was transmissional, and to have a transmission specialist diagnose it for me. I did that. They have a box similar to what GM has, and it said that the problem was not transmissional in nature, but rather that the ECM was not processing the signal properly, and was causing the tranny to go into "Limp Mode", where it only stays in one gear at the top of the range.

I am unemployed, and I cannot afford to keep going like this, where I am losing money left and right. I have a family of four, and have around $100 left to our names. Found a wrecked 2004 saturn Ion nearby, and wanted to know if that ECM was compatible between the two cars.

Please only answer if you have a clue what you are talking about. I am desperate. I have nowhere else to turn for information, and that car is the only way that I can get back to work to support my family.

    Any good mechanics, please help...

  • Is it possible to build a 2010 370Z Nismo Edition with an automatic transmission?

I know that Nissan does not offer this setup straight from the factory. But my question is about the possibility of buying one outright, and then having the Tranny swapped out for the 7-speed automatic that comes in the standard Z Coupe. Is there some reason the auto would not work or fit? or is it just so that Nissan can save money on Assembly line configurations?...

  • Changing tires between cars...?

I own an '02 Dodge Intrepid and a '97 Dodge Stratus. The tire lug formation is the same, but one is a 15" tire and the other is a 16" tire. Will it hurt anything to put the 16" tire on the Stratus? Will it cause turn issues or scrub issues? The engine in the intrepid blew yesterday, and it has really new tires with only 2000 miles on them. I don't want the $350 to go to waste when I send the car to the scrap yard. what do the numbers on the tire size mean?

  • Racism in America...?

In light of the recent Imus firing (after the Rutgers team accepted his apology and forgave him), what do you think it will take to make true Equality in America? When does "Comicview" get taken off the air? Comicview does focus in primarily on white people... (Can anyone name for me 5 black comics on Comicview who have not got a single "White people" joke in their repertoire? Oh, and being white I do so love being called a "cracker". This public humiliation should be acceptable?) I think that if we are going to remove a comic from the air for his views or jokes, we should be up in arms about EVERY comic that makes derogatory generalities about race. (Chris Rock, anyone?)

I must say that I do not like Don Imus, his brand of comedy, nor his personal views, but I dislike the inequality of comic racial profiling even less. Add to that the racist views of Sharpton and Jackson and their abuse of their celebrity, and I feel its very unfair to say the least. Anyone else feel the same?

  • American Idol: does anyone else think...?

that Lakeshia Jones and Melinda Doolittle are vastly overrated? I have not yet heard either of them sing anything other than 60's Motown Ladies songs. Not that I am prejudiced against the music genre, but it is 40+ years old, and I think the contest winner should be able to stay modern. I don't think either of them is capable of that.

    My personal opinions are:

    1) That Simon gives too much credit to the two based wholly on their singing voices, and not on their capability to sing modern enough music to make money.

2)Jordin Sparks has just as good a voice as the other two, and has shown since the beginning that she can do a wide variety of music, and make it work.

    3) Gina Glockson and the blonde guy with spikey hair that raps and scats are good enough to get record deals in rock and rap genre's, respectively.

What do you think? I am just curious to find out what this brings back...

  • Looking to move west....?

My wife and I are looking to move west of the Mississippi River to pursue a new start for our marriage. We are looking at the area between Arkansas, Oklahoma, North Texas, even towards Wyoming. We are looking for an area that has a lot of manufacturing opportunities, as well as a relatively small population. We have recently gone through a devastating time, where a lot of people in our families, and our friends have imported their own agendas for our marriage, and it has nearly killed it. For this reason, we feel we can't make it here in the Carolinas due to the immense pressure we both are under to leave the other. Any ideas of places to move would be incredible...
