Our church's insurance co. says that anyone who offers a ride to certain persons must give proofs to the insurance co as noted. True?
Anyone, not just the bus ministry drivers, who offers a ride in their private care to anyone must report to the insurance company regarding their auto insurance, their registration, their drivers license, and if the person(s) have any kind of disability, or are receiving a subsidy from a governmental agency of any kind, must undergo a criminal background check. Have you heard of this? Do you know if all insurance companies require this type of compliance? What about a mega church, like Joel Osteen's church? Does that mean everyone who goes to that church who might take a neighbor to church who is physically or mentally challenged in some way must comply with these requirements that have been stipulated?
Insurance7 years agoIs this correct grammar, "The target audience for the study was public school leaders."?
Should it be "was" or "were" -- or should the sentence be revised as follows: Public school leaders were the target audience for the study. That way is easy to see the use of the verb "were" is correct for the plural subject of the sentence.

Often our staff being in public places doing a great job has resulted in students signing up for our school on the spot.

2 AnswersWords & Wordplay7 years agoIn the movie My Dream Is Yours what is the music played when Doug Blake finds Gary Mitchell in the bar?
It's a very familiar refrain, it plays during the scene in the bar when Doug Blake finds Gary Mitchell after Mitchell's several month absence due to a drinking binge....it plays just before a telegram is received by Hutchins, THAT music an old college song by Cole Porter, Bull Dog, and IS listed in the Sound Track credits - but the refrain I refer to is not. Very soulful, blues-y Gershwin-esque sounding. All I can remember (and yes, it is a song) are a bit of the lyrics where the notes ascend up the scale in a steady rhythmic beat - "All I see- for - me - is - mis-er-y."
1 AnswerMovies7 years agoI received a phone call from this number: 12-536-3827. What is this?
I received a phone call from the above phone number, which I didn't answer. When I get a phone call from a number I do not recognize, I can usually find it online - but not this one. Any ideas what it might be?
3 AnswersCell Phones & Plans8 years agoCould the movie "Gravity" be based on an old story from the Mag of Fantasy and SciFi?
I read it when I was a teenager I think. Four astronauts are involved in a space accident and end up in space, alone, untethered, and each floating away from the other,,,,all in different directions. It was a very short story but it never left me. They were all very frightened, and one of them realized they were being pulled into the gravitational pull of the Earth. I remember that one saying, "I'm going home." As time went on they began to lose contact with one another. The story ended with a large paragraph break and a shift in scene. A grandfather (as I remember it) and his grandson are on a porch somewhere where the night sky was very visible. The story ends with the boy saying to his grandfather, "Look, grandpa, look. There's a falling star!" I wondered when I heard/saw the trailers for the new film "Gravity" - if they have borrowed that tale and made it into this film. So far the reviews I have seen are awesome. It's a great story if they did.
2 AnswersMovies8 years agoI need help with a citation. Can you help me with this one from Dick and Carey, 1985.?
I thought it might come from their book, "The Systematic Design of Instruction," but not sure - tried several avenues - Citeseerx / Scholar / Google Books, with no luck. Here's the reference:
The data collected was analyzed and interpreted “in the most reasonable way possible” (Dick & Carey, 1985, p. __) to make changes that “seem” to be implied within the data.

1 AnswerDrama8 years agoI have a T-Mobile HotSpot router. Can I switch it out for a newer router and not lose my T-Mobile number?
I use a satellite phone system throughout the house that uses a t-mobile cell phone number. It's considered 'another line' with T-Mobile and is charged as such on my bill. I have had the router for many years now and altho the HotSpot is no longer offered by T-Mobile, I am, they tell me, 'grandfathered in' because I have not cancelled the number/line. Which I like; I don't WANT to lose it. However, I am thinking maybe a newer, more powerful router would be a good thing as one of my roommates who is receiving a signal from this router (which governs the wi-fi network in the home as well) has trouble from time to time receiving a strong signal. My internet is Comcast and I have a fairly new modem from them, which is connected to, of course, the T-Mobile HotSpot router. Any suggestions. I was just reading a Kim Komando email about an 802.11ac router and got to wondering about this.
Other - Internet8 years agoWhat was the poison used in D.O.A. in both the 1950 version and the 1988 version?
Watching Person of Interest (4/25/2013 episode "In Extremis") with a very similar plot line and was reminded of those two movies, one with Edmond O'Brien, and the more recent starring Dennis Quaid. The poison in the TV episode is polonium....a radioactive substance when ingested if not caught and treated in the first hour, is fatal, according to the script.
