  • Attractions worth paying for in Toronto?

We are going to be in Toronto for one day next week. Being a major city, nothing is free much less cheap to do. What attractions in Toronto, particularly the downtown area, are worth paying for?

I was all excited to go up the CN Tower, then had a heart attack at the cost. I don't want one day to cost me $100 for two people to do stuff.

So what is worth the price? What attractions are cheap and fun?

  • Snow clothing alternatives?

We are planning on going to the Taos/Angel Fire area between Christmas and New Years. We are not planning on skiing but enjoying the area and playing in the snow.

What are some options for good clothing to wear when playing in the snow without having to buy actual ski clothing? I know a good coat, but what sort of footwear, pants, accessories? We want to be able to play in the snow without a ton of discomfort. Any alternatives for remaining warm and dry would be great! Also, any suggested brands would be wonderful, too. I would rather pay a little more and not have my fingers fall off than save money. The type of activities would be the snow tubing park, random snow places, etc. Thank you!

  • Mexico Recommendation?

Which place in Mexico would you recommend for a first trip? We are a mid-20s couple and are not into the party non-stop thing. We enjoy vacations that give us a chance to experience the local culture, great food, some nightlife, outdoor adventure, shopping, and of course a beautiful place for relaxation. We are looking to go next summer, so a place that isn't drenched in rain during June would be great. I know there are many spots that offer all of this, but what is your pick? Thanks!

  • Quebec City Traffic?

What kind of traffic can I expect going into the city center mornings/evenings? Our lodging isn't too far outside the center, up highway 440. Is the work commute bad enough we should plan on sleeping in some and taking an easy breakfast before heading out, say around 9? Living in Houston, Texas, traffic is a nightmare here; I am looking for some idea of what to expect. Thanks!

  • Hotel/Motel Toilets?

So...my husband and I got to talking the other day about what happens when you "conquer" the toilet, so to speak, at a hotel/motel. We wondered why most bathrooms do not come equipped with a plunger to unclog. Aside from assuming the water pressure and plumbing can handle it, what's a lodging guest to do? I would hate to ask housekeeping or the front desk for the tool, so what suggestions might you have for being prepared or fixing the situation? Any travel plungers out there?

  • Travel Insurance?

With all of the flight cancellations currently happening and the predicted continuation as they inspect the fleets, are there any travel insurance policies that cover this situation? Or, is this something that should it happen to me I will be at the mercy of how the airline wants to compensate?

  • Vacation Ideas?

So we are looking for some ideas on where to go this summer. There are four of us, two married couples, age 22-25. We are up for almost any idea and are hoping for something we havent thought of. So far the most we have come up with is Cabo.

Any ideas? Nothing crazy expensive or heavily kid-oriented, we dont have any so we are not looking to spend our vacation time with a herd of kids. :) Also, somewhere that would be okay to visit in June. Thanks!

  • Plasma TV pricing?

looking to buy a plasma tv, 50" range and have narrowed it down to a couple of upper-end brands. right now they are on sale $300-400 off the "regular" price. will the prices come down more as we get closer to the holidays or is this as good as it gets? im thinking only the cheaper brands will come down in price, just needing some insight before making such an investment!

  • Phone call?

How do I make a phone call to Canada from the United States? Is it the same as calling long distance in the states, 1+area code+number? Or what is the procedure? I am trying to make hotel reservations and they only take phone reservations. Thanks!

  • Canada Trip Car Rental?

So we are wanting to start our Canada vacation by flying into Quebec City and staying there for 2-3 days. Then we are wanting to rent a car and drive to St. John/Bay of Fundy. In all, a week a half vacation or so. My question is this....

    Which would be advisable?

    1. Pick up a rental car when we arrive at the airport and use it the whole trip, including our stay in Quebec City.

    or

    2. On the day we are leaving Quebec City for the rest of our road trip, pick up the car then and not mess with it while staying in Quebec City.

Mainly, will it be more of a hassle to have a car while exploring Quebec City or will it make it easier to get around? Walking everywhere isn't an issue, but if it is a huge ordeal having a car and parking it, I would prefer to not mess with it.

    Thank you for your insight!

  • Cat gone poop crazy!?

My cat is 8-9 years old, and up until the last 6 months has been normal and I knew what to expect. Now she has decided to poop in certain places in the house. She leaves a lot of poop in a spare bedroom upstairs. They come in 2 sizes, regular kitty size and super-size. She has never had large poop, so for the longest time I thought it was the dogs, but we blocked off that part of the house so only she could access it. The extreme size of the poop is another baffling thing...she also chooses to poop in our bed. She has never been this kind of cat and all of a sudden she is. I can never track it bc it is pretty random when it happens. We seem to all be getting along and she is happy and then bam, we find a mess of poop. What could be happening here? I don't want to take her to the animal shelter, but I am at my wits ends with all this pooping everywhere. Is she just unhappy in my house now and I need to find her a better home?

  • Adult Dog behaving badly!!?

Please help! My adult (10 year old) dog is pooping/peeing upstairs in secret. He has never had this habit in the year that we have owned him. What could be causing him to do this and how can I break this growing habit other than sticking him outside? He has access to the backyard through 24/7 doggie doors. Any help would be great!!

  • Final vacation questions...?

    1. Is there anything major going on in Boston from June 11-14? Particularly in the downtown area/around Boston Common? I would just like a heads up before we come visit and wonder what is going on and possibly miss out on something fun!

    2. I am mosquito bite prone. Do I need to pack some anti-bug spray?

    3. Is it reasonable to walk from the North Station to Fenway park? How about a walk from North station to the New England Aquarium? North Station to Boston Common? I have a hard time interpreting maps and recognizing distances.

Thank you for helping our upcoming vacation; we are really looking forward to visiting Boston!

  • Museum of Fine Arts French Painting Exhibit?

In the first main room, after entering, there is a painting on the wall near the exit to the next room. It is a large painting and it has an aqueduct/bridge in it with a countryside setting. Also, the caption with it talks about that artist spending time in Spoleto, Italy and using that as influence in this painting. I am wanting to find out who this artist was and what is the name of this painting. Thanks!
