10 AnswersWords & Wordplay1 decade agoWhat is the US Policy stand on Sudan?
Why hasn't the US rallied and backed a UN presence in Darfur? What is the relationship between the US leadership and Sudan's regime? Why hasn't the US even publically voiced an opinion of regime change there? What are the powers-that-be's concerns about publically demonizing the genocide there in Sudan, a fact that the AU and UN have already committed to, yet the US is unwilling to support stopping?

7 AnswersPhilosophy1 decade agoAre cats immune to scorpion stings?
My cat keeps killing the scorpions in our apartments, which we have at least one everyday. They are bark scorpions which are supposed to be highly venomous. But my cat doesn't seem to mind. she plays with them, severs the tail/stinger and then kills them. She doesn't seem effected but I'm curious as to why.

3 AnswersGovernment2 decades ago9/11... myths, legends and truth, governtment lies?
In light of real films like Michael Moore's Farenheit 911, as well as indie documentary http://www.loosechange911.com/ (film viewable for free at http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-513758199... lack of WMD in Iraq, CIA exposure retaliation by Cheney, and all the other whitewashes, stalls, and outright mistruths and plausible denials... why aren't people questioning our govt. more and more? why the patriotric blindness? doesn't this disservice the memories of those who perished on 9/11? Are people really that gullible and blind? do people really trust the government, esp. our current corrupted white house? how much denial can people have before the see the truths and lies from our government using our hard earned taxes? what will it take to get people off their couches and demand authentic governing? When will the roses finally get smelled, and we realize it not a rose at all, but a stinkweed in a pile of manure? (the hostile answers merely prove my point)
6 AnswersCurrent Events2 decades agowhy are people still looking for answers in places already found empty of them?
God isn't the answer. That's already been established. and 900 characters isn't enough to reestablish it. But it has been established. Yet sooooo many people, here and all over the world, hold fast to such an answer. God is responsible for this and that and everything. And if not God, then Satan. Religion is prima facie passe. Get over it before it gets over you and makes you all yucky and destroys the world. Start facing the real problems with the real solutions. The real solutions are there, and have nothing to do with God. God-thinking is preventing peace and harmony in the world, and preventing the solutions to the world's problems.
So, if the answers are there and real, why are people ignoring them and choosing instead to have "faith" in spite of it?
6 AnswersPhilosophy2 decades agoWhat can everyone agree on?
Can everyone agree that some phenomena, something IS, even if it is illusionary... that there is some experience of living at this moment at this time, even if it is false... can we all agree that something is occuring.... that we experience something? Is that agreed upon by everyone universally?
36 AnswersPhilosophy2 decades agoIs there really a right answer?
if we can't agree on a moral perspective (7 major religions, a gazillion ethical positions), or even a scientific perspective (we can't even agree on evolution)... if we can't agree on anything, is there really such a thing as a right answer? and if so, to what question?
I have one. Too bad you can't answer your own question. I'm sure you'd love it.
7 AnswersPhilosophy2 decades agoAre people equal (repetitious creations) or different but equally valueable?
For example, the man in a wheelchair at the bottom of the stairs, if
equally treated, building accessibility to compensate for the inaccessible stairs would make him special. Equal meaning equal treatment, just like everyone else, meaning no special adjustments.
Equality ignores difference. People have difference. Do we ignore difference and marginalize in the name of equality? or do we accept difference, throw away equality yet change the value of what difference is, bring in the margin, decenter the norm and live in peace?
