I have been unable to access their web site for two days. Has anyone heard if the site is down for maintenance?

The inspector said not having electricity in an occupied dwelling is a code violation. We live in North Carolina. I cannot find a building code on the internet that requires a resident to have electricity. Can anyone tell me how to search for these laws as I do not have the specific GS number?

My wife teaches at a major university. She received her undergraduate degree from the same university. One of her former professors still teaches at the university. My wife has idolized this woman for 20 years - she looks up to her as a mentor. Today, this woman berated my wife during a meeting, at length. My wife went to the woman's office later to find out what the problem was and the woman refused to talk to her. Other collegues told my wife today that the woman was wrong. My wife is in tears. She is hurt because she has looked up to this woman for so long. What should I say to make my wife feel better? I thik part of the problem is my wife has been voted best faculty member 5 of the past 6 years. This past year she won even though her name was not on the ballot. I think this older woman is jealous of my wife. I want to say something to my wife that will help her.

I have politely asked my neighbor to keep his Doberman Pinscher in his yard. This happens at our beach house. He is a veterinarian. His dog scratched my six-year-old daughter on the face this past September. I called the Dog Catcher. He made a report. Privately, he told me to get some chickens and put them in a pen in the yard. When the dog comes over to attack the chickens, the Dog Catcher says I then have a right to kill the dog because it is attacking my livestock. I can't even walk my dog on her leash because his dog is barking and acting aggressive. I think it's go time.

Soft White MINI 60. Bulb blinks out and then emits smoke and strong smell of burning plastic. I have had two such failures in the past month in different lamps. Fortunately, I was present when the bulbs failed. Both were seldom used. These bulbs are rated at 8,000 hours. Anyone else experience this type of failure?

Over the past four months, I have lost 27 pounds. I have had no symptoms of any kind. My doctor now wants me to keep a detailed record of my diet. All tests have been negative. I am a 40-year-old man. I am very active and play organized basketball three times a week for about 90 minutes. I have explained to my doctor that I cannot continue to lose weight and maintain my strength. I have started using Ensure, a high-calorie liquid meal replacement. Any suggestions on the cause?

the area code is '180' and the prefix is '028.' I know of no US prefixes that begin with a '0'. Is this a scam. I did not answer the phone.

My 1996 Corvette LT4 6-speed has developed an annoying rattle in the shifter. The car has 21,000 miles and has had no problems since new. Is there an easy fix aside from installing a new shifter? I've read that some new shifters rattle and I have been spoiled all these years. Is the shifter install a DIY project or should I let my mechanic handle the job? Aside from the rattle, the car runs as smooth as glass, even at high speed. Also, the rattle occurs mainly in 1st and 2nd gear. Fifth and 6th are quiet. The car shifts great and the clutch is smooth with no slipping? Any ideas.
