4 AnswersDiet & Fitness2 decades agowhat happens when you're suspended?
There seem to be a lot of random acts of suspension going on lately, and I'm starting to think this whole answers thing was a big mistake... If I get suspended, does it just affect my answering ability, or is my whole yahoo account going to get axed? I wouldn't be able to deal without my email and groups, etc. Is it time to give up answers?

1 AnswerMovies2 decades agosomething's chirping?
Ok, this is gonna sound strange... I'm hearing this chirping sound; it sounds exactly like a smoke detector when the battery is starting to go. BUT I think it's coming from the kitchen (where I have no smoke detectors) and of the smoke detectors we do have, all but one are hardwired (= no batteries) and I've checked the battery one and it seems ok. Any idea where the chirping sound could be coming from?

2 AnswersYahoo Answers2 decades agovietnamese recipe?
I'm looking for a recipe that a friend used to make for me. It contains sauteed garlic, eggs fried in a kind of thin omelet and then sliced into thin strips, noodles, a kind of Vietnamese "mystery meat" that I can't figure the spelling on (sounded something like cheloa?) and topped liberally with fish sauce. It may have had other ingredients, but it's been over 20 years since I've had it and I can't recall... can anyone help?

4 AnswersCelebrities2 decades agogay marriage?
Earlier today I read answers to a question that went something like "if you had only a month to live what would you do?" One of the responses was from a gay man who referred to (among other things) making sure his accounts etc. were set up so that his "husband" had financial security after his death. It is obvious that, although he loves his partner dearly and considers him his husband, he does not enjoy the same rights and privileges that heterosexual married couples take for granted.
I would like to hear from gay couples detailing the disadvantages they face due to not being allowed a legal marriage. (personal experiences only, please - I can do a google search and find the HRC website on my own)
3 AnswersCultures & Groups2 decades agoA good sci-fi/fantasy novel?
I'm hitting the used paperback store Wednesday, looking for something I haven't read yet... I'm looking for books that are fantasy or cross-genre rather than hard sci-fi, something that stands alone (or at most a trilogy) - I don't want to end up searching for book 8 of the series...
