  • My kids were deleted from my tax return HELP?

I filed a paper return months ago and had not heard back so and today I went online to get transcripts since my oldest starts college next year and will be applying for Georgia Hope scholarship. I found all my kids/dependents had been removed from my tax return.

Now lets be clear there is no one who can claim my kids on their tax return. They have never in their life lived with anyone but me and my husband. My kids are by my first husband but his parental rights were terminated. They have never lived with him and there are restraining orders.

My kids were13, 16 and 17 in the tax year 2013 and I double checked the tax return and all the information including ss numbers was provided correctly and the box for child tax credits correctly checked.

It is like someone just forgot to type them. When I went to "where is my return" it only mentioned miscalculated standard deduction(because by deleating my kids it droped my deductions) and child tax credit removed because "missing information in box 6". DAAA they removed it.

The form was computer generated so it is not like someone could not read the information. Is it possible they just forgot to type it. I am really starting to wonder what I can do . To make it worse it said they would sent me a letter about it on JUNE 2nd. WHY NOT NOW. They already claim I owe interest but these fools can not bother to send me an explanation on why my kids were deleted.

  • Help my mechanic is trying to scam me!!!?

So here is the situation. I was run off the road 2 months ago. I hit a pole and did some minor damage to the front end of my car. We took the car immediately to a mechanic because I need my car for work. I was unaware the car repairs would be covered by uninsured motorist since it was basically a hit and run.

We took the car to a mechanic we had used in the past and knew did good work and paid over 2000$ for repairs. We already had paid and had our car back in our possession when, We then found out the damages would be covered. The insurance company who was well aware the car had already been repaired asked for a copy of the original estimate. We gave them a copy.

The insurance company then called the mechanic and negotiated a lower payment. Because the insurance company called to negotiate, he thought they did not know we already paid and believed the insurance check would be sent to him. They did know and so of course the check was sent to us. So our payment was considerably less then we actually PAID for the repair. The reality is since this man agreed to the lower payment the insurance company agreed to he actually OWES US MONEY.

The insurance company sent the check for repairs directly to me in my name. Because as I explained they were well aware the car had already been repaired and paid for. I cashed it. I never went after the mechanic for the lower negotiated rate I just took the loss and went on with life.

Today the mechanic called saying we had "stolen HIS check" and that the insurance money should have been paid to him!!!!!!! We were shocked he had RECIEVED payment in full and his "negotiating" for lower payment when he had already been paid cost US money.

Now this man is trying to blackmail us, calling and threating to call the insurance company and lie and say we frauded them if we do not give all the money to him.

Can I report this guy to the police? I have done nothing wrong, he was paid for the job and is now trying to get more money.

  • Why do they use fever as an definitive answer if a student is sent home from school.?

Me and my family does not run fevers. And it is actually a very common thing. Many people have naturally low temperatures. I have only had one fever in my life and I went from "normal" to 106 in a matter of minutes due to Pneumonia. If my mother had not put me it a tub of ice water the doctor said I would have died. Because we almost never run a temp, we tend to get extremely sick before we notice. We ignore serious coughs because we think they are just a cold. Neither of my teenage kids have ever had a fever after they turned 2 and they have both had all kinds of illnesses. Including scarlet "fever" (it was diagnosed by the red rash and strep test but never had the fever). Our normal temp runs around 96 not 98.

My 15 year old daughter has had walking pneumonia twice this year(diagnosed by x-ray in the ER) with no fever what so ever. The last time I was really upset with the school. The school insists that students can not go home from school unless they have a fever. My daughter went to school on Monday, she had a mild cough all weekend and I was concerned, but he teacher had told the kids that they "Could NOT miss class on Monday". They had a lab that could not be made up and they would get an F. My daughter is a high achiever and the last thing she wanted to to was mess up her GPA. So I reluctantly said it was ok to go to school as long as she called me if she got any worse. By the time she came home she was so sick I had to take her straight to the ER where she was diagnosed with walking pneumonia and an infection that was already swelling her lymph nodes. When I asked her why she did not call she said she was told she could not go home unless she had a fever.

When will schools learn that a fever is not the only way to determine if a person is sick. How can I trust a school that just takes the kids temperatures and sends them back to class, ignoring any other symptoms.

  • Is it legal for the backward state of Georgia to endorse a party on the ballots?

I just got my absentee ballot and noticed that on the ballots all the republicans are listed first. This is a clear endorsement of one party over another and since uneducated people may just vote for the first person who looks familiar, it is a clear way to influence the election. Shouldn't ballots have to be in alphabetical order or randomized so that there is no advantage given to one party or another? How can it be legal for a state to endorse a party in a "FREE" election.

  • Need helf with Econo refinishing of table?

Ok here I am unemployeed with all the time in the world but a budget so tight I have a hard time squeezing dollar store supplies out of it. BUT last year I picked up a solid wood kitchen table at a secound hand store for 25$. The only problem is the previous owner had spray painted the top with first white and then black spray paint. I had always intended to refinish it but never had the time. So today I set out to begin the process. I am pretty handy and have a good amount of tools(thank God because I can not afford to buy them right now). I had no problem removing the spray paint both layers with a heat gun and scraper. And now I am down to the clear coat. The heat gun removed some with the paint, but not the majority. So out came my handly old sander. I have been sanding for some time, and I just can not get it all off. I have been using one of those sanding net type things and really bad dollar store standpaper. (sorry I do not know technical terms, I am handly but not all that educated in woodwork). I purchased it while doing some drywall in my basement. I know it worked wonders on the joint compound, but it seems slow going on the varnish or what ever it is.

So my first question is do you know of anything cheep that I can sand off the top. I DO NOT want to use chemical strippers. I just feel weird about putting all those chemicals into a porus surface that will obsorb them and then I will eat off.

And secoundly, does all the surface need to be removed if I am just going to put a new clear coat on top?

And third what is the cheepest way clear coat to use, remember Budget. I basicly want the cheepest thing that will not fall apart in a week. I have even considered clear spray paint. I would love to make it a show piece but it is just not in the budget right now. I just firgure maybe there is a pro out there who knows of something that is maybe a little more expensive than spray paint that will have better results.

    Any help please.

  • Is it possible to use a chest freezer as a refridgerator?

OK so here is the deal. My in-laws are staying with me. And they refuse to tell me what to buy for them when I go shopping. They say "we have everything" the only problem is I can not shop for meals because every time I go to prepare a meal they have already eaten one or more of the ingredients. For example I bought buns to make burgers a couple weeks ago. But within 24 hours the buns were gone. But the bread went moldy because they refuse to eat the bread. So the next week I bought buns for them to eat, but the buns went moldy because they did not like that "type". The fact is infact we had bought french bread for Italian food and they ate that instead of the buns. I am going crazy. I am lost at what to buy for them, or how to keep the ingredients in the house for meals. So after weeks of daily trips to the store, i have started freezing all the ingredients for meals in the chest freezer. And just leaving them with a reasonable array of foods in the refridgerator.

Believe me I do not want to withhold food from my in-laws. I simply want them to make an effort to tell me what I can buy for them so I will only have to shop on a weekly basis instead of having to shop daily and replace ingredients. I work and I am just exausted having to shop daily.

But the problem is some ingredients really should be refridgerated and not frozen. I have the freezer set at the lowest setting but it is still freezing. Does anyone know if it is possible to keep things from freezing in the freezer?

  • Fasting with a cold!?

I am seriously considering breaking my fast and I could use some advice. I know it is permissable to break your fast if you are ill and need to take medicine. But the fact is I can not remember having missed a fast since I converted about a decade ago. (and before you ask that rude question-historectomy-enough said). And I do not want to miss one now. It is just that my nose is running non stop and I have a horrable head ache and my Mother & Father in law are arriving in county in an hour. And I have to drive to the airport to pick them up. And I do not want to risk everyones life driving with a throbbing head ache.

I am just really lowsey at fasting outside of Ramadan. For some reason it is just really easy to fast during Ramadan, but outside Ramadan it is VERY difficult for me. So any Muslims (I do not want the advice of any of you islamophobes, keep your delusions to yourself) have any advice on making up fasts so it is not so difficult, and WHY Is it just sooooo much harder to fast once Ramadan is over.

  • God is pleased by love, kindness and respect, Satan is pleased by hatred SO........?

All religions teach that God is pleased by love and kindness and Satan is pleased by hatred.

What does that make the 16 year old "Christian" girl who called my 13 year old "from the devil" because she is Muslim. And what does that make my daughter who quietly waked away, and stayed quiet for Gods sake and did not argue.

The more time goes by the more I see people OF ALL RELIGIONS do the work of Satan in the name of God. Will people ever get a clue?

  • How much does it cost to install carpet in one room?

We recently purchased a carpet remnant that is just big enough to re-carpet our living room. We got an estimate today for 150 plus the cost of padding. From what I have seen online that looks a little on the high side. But I don't know much about these things. Does anyone know what it costs just to install carpet only in a small living room about 10X20.

  • Help! My HMO is not paying full Emergancy bill?

In early October my husband had a stroke driving home from work. He was bairly able to get to the side of the road and dial 911. His speech was slurred yet somehow he mannaged to communicate where he was so the ambulance picked him up and took him to the nearest hospital. This was CLEARLY an emergancy and the primary care physician (a friend of the family) even visited my husband in the hospital. It took me about an hour to get their because my husbands speech was garbaled and all I could get was AMBULANCE. So I had to make a lot of calls to find out where they took him. My husband was admitted for 3 days and was unable to work for 2 months and had to undergo intensive rehab.

Two weeks ago we started recieving bills from the Emergancy physician. It seems BCBS only paid 170$ out of the 1075$ physicians bill for the cariologist. When we called the insurance company we were told the doctor was "out of network" and their was nothing they could do. That we should "call the dr. and ask him to "write it off". (yeah like that is going to happen) My policy clearly says that they cover Emergancy care 100% after the dedictable and we paid the deductable to the hospital.

The bill clearly says it is EMERGANCY Physician charge. Yet our EOB only says "medical". And is my understanding that US law says you can not restrict providers or requrie in network care in an emergancy. But I am not able to find any information on the laws or patient rights in GA. Maybe their are none. I seem to find the laws for almost every state BUT Ga. and they all say that that you can not restrict emergancy care based on network.

Can anyone help me. My husband has excellant credit and has always paid his bills on time. But after 2 months off work we just can not afford an 800$ dr bill. Isn't this what we pay these huge fees to the insurance company for? The stress of all this is giving my husband high blood pressure and that is all he needs right now! He can not handle another stroke.

I am appealing the decision and I could really use any help anyone can give me.

  • Can anyone tell me about their experience with Virtual Schools?

My kids currently attend Georgia Cyber (k12) which I am not at all impressed with. We live in a failing violent school zone and there are no county charter schools at high school level so State Charters are my only option. As of next year Georgia will be the most Virtual friendly state around. With charters being approved for Connections, Kaplan, Provost and one more elementary that I can not remember.

My son is in High School. We are hoping his school choice transfer(for failing schools) will not be a hour drive each way, like the one the offered him this year, but we are not holding our breath. So we are pretty much sure we will have to go virtual again next year.

k12 has good curriculum, that is not the problem. My issue with GCA is the administration and the poor quility of teachers and lack of organization. I am a teacher and sadly most of the "teacher given assignments" (these are out of the normal K12 curriculum such as reports) look like they were written by a 12 year old. And there is no organized way they put out assignments in the HIGH SCHOOL ONLY. The Elementary and Middle are very organized, but the high school is a WHOLE different animal. Especially in ELA where the assignments are given by unit number and the lessons are listed by day number and they jump around skipping days so it is almost impossible to keep track. So you have to waste a ton of time trying different days to find the assignments.

I am also not impressed with the "mastery" based approach in Elementary school and Middle school. Because in K12 k-8 the students take the test, and then if they fail they can look at the answers and just retake the same test to "achieve mastery". It seems if they were a quality school, at least there would be a different test to take every time.

I have looked at connections but the curriculum looks Sooo bland. K12 really does have interesting and well rounded lessons, and I do like that.

Has anyone had any experience with any virtual schools in other states, especially at High school level (other than k12 since I am trying to move away from them). And can give me their input. Also graduates of these programs, were you able to successfully transition to college?

  • Can anyone answer my question about Blood Pressure?

First let me say I just started seeing a cardiologist and I am scheduled for more testing next week. I have been having chest pains and I had a small heart beat irregularity. The Cardiologist thinks it is benign, but I am having a stess test and an echo on Wednesday. He just wants to rule out a blockage, because I have never had an irregular heart beat or pain in the past. But in the mean time the doctor asked me to log my blood pressure. And what I am seeing is scaring me a little.

My BP is normally around 117/70 but my pulse has been on the high side around 85.

But last night there was a good bit of drama at home and my Blood Pressure shot up to 150/100 and my pulse was 108. It stayed at that level for a while even after I relaxed so, I took Nitro prescribed by my Dr. It went down to normal within 20 mins.

Then today, I did my wii fit for less than 10 minutes and my BP went up to 144/82 with a pulse of 89. This time It did go back down as soon as I sat down and relaxed so I did not take any nitro.

SO the question is IS THIS NORMAL. I mean it may well be. I have never tracked my BP before. I know 150/100 is stage 2 high blood pressure by the charts. And a resting pulse should not be more than 100, and when I had the 150 I was not exercising (just stessed out) SO I am pretty sure that this is not a good sign. I am taking the record to my Cardiologist on Wednesday. But I am there for tests, so I do not even know if I will be able to talk to him.

Should I be worried, or am I just blowing things out of porportion?

Ok my son has this dividing polynomial homework and I have looked through all the intire unit and they have never covered dividing when the bottom has letters that are not in one of the units of the top. With a lot of looking on line I have found what I think is the answer, but I am really annoyed because this is a take home quiz and is a pretty big part of the grade and the teacher is giving them questions that are not covered in the book. GRRRRRRRR. Below is the question and my answer, is it right or am I off base, and if so how do you solve it?. My question is the last unit with the no Y. Please note that I was not able to copy and past the underline so know the numbers on top of each other are fractions.

    12x²y-6xy+4x²

    Answer:

    6x -3 + y

  • Problems with Ground Fault Outlet, can you help?

2 weeks ago I installed a ground fault outlet on the outlet where I plug in my new window AC. Because ACs involve water I just wanted to make sure in case there was some dripping. The only one I could find was 20amp and this is on a 15 amp breaker. I have had absolutely no problem with water and the AC has worked great. But all the sudden yesterday evening a buzzing sound came from the outlet and then the ground fault indicator came on and the outlet died. The AC was actually set lower than usual and it was evening in fact night(9 pm) so the usage was nothing compared to that afternoon.

This makes absolutely NO sense. There was nothing that happened that would indicate a ground fault. There is no problem with the AC still works great from another outlet. The Breaker Did not even pop, every outlet on the circut but this one was still hot and working. And I know the breaker works well because if I plug my vacume into a plug on the same circiut while the AC is running the breaker will pop right away.

There was no water and nothing was touching the outlet, nothing that would ever indicate a ground fault. No burned wires no sparks just the sound from the plug itself. This is a new out let and it was properly installed all the wires were still securely installed. I have ground fault outlets in all the bathrooms and there is no problem with them working so the ground in the house is good. Is it just a faulty outlet or should I be worried.

I had to put in a regular outlet because it is all I have and this is the only outlet the AC will reach and it is 105 outside so I need the AC.

Is there anyone out there who knows electrical that can give me a hint and let me know if I should be worried.

  • Help with replacing an electrical outlet.?

I have lived in a lot of old houses and I have always replaced the outlets when they were broken and this has alway been a straight forward thing until today. We were redecorating our daughters bedroom and most of her out lets were cracked so the logical thing is to replace them, But when I opened one of the sockets it is like nothing I have ever seen. Instead of 4 wires and a ground there are 6 and a ground. 4 wires are pushed into the place you slide in the wires and then they attached an additional 2 wires to the side position where you screw them in. And then of course there was a ground. The wireing in this house is 25 years old. The outlet looks standard but I can not read any writing so It may be a different type. Mostly it just looks like someone attached extra wires. Is anyone an electrician or handy enough to know what this is about. I am handy but this seems very unusual to me. I have looked on the electrical sites and do not seem to be able to find any information. They seem to always describe plugs as having 4 wires and in all my years of redecorating homes this has always been the case.

Any ideas, I really need this broken plug out but I do not want to make things worse than they are.

  • What kind of plug do I need to get for a motor home to plug into?

My dad comes every summer and parks his motorhome in the driveway. But his motorhome always pops the breakers in our box. I want to install a separate outlet on a larger breaker to insure that he can power his AC. I have an electrician here working on another job and I wanted to get it all done at once. But he is unsure what kind of box a motorhome uses. I want to put in a 30 amp breaker. Will a heavy duty standard outlet work or do I need a special outlet for the motorhome to plug into. I am assuming a standard out let will work as that is what he has used in the past. But I know they also have another plug in that he uses at RV parks. What is better. Or should I go for the 50 amp. I am sooooo confused. Help me make mom and dad more comfortable PLEASE!

  • Gov't can't fund schools but is wasting money on useless mailings. I don't get it!?

In our area schools are being shut down right and left due to Budget shortfalls. Yet The US gov't can run around wasting money on mass mailings. Yesterday I got a letter telling me that "my census packet will be mailed out soon so please fill it out". COME ON. Just send the stupid packet, it is not royalty it does not need to be announced before arrival.

According to an online search( I am unclear as to the accuracy but it works to get a basic picture) there were 119,117,000 single family homes in the US in 2001 and I am sure that has grown quite a bit since then. That means at 35 cents a letter it costs the government over 41,690,950 dollars to send out a letter to every household in America.

So they paid 4 million dollars to tell everyone that the CENSUS IS ON THE WAY.

That could keep several of those schools open. Or it could give 104,227 struggling American families 400 dollars in groceries instead of wasting money on giving a grand announcement that "your census is on the way". It is already on the news, on billboards and all over the place. This is just a sick shame that the govenment does not see that there is a better way to spend the money.

  • With Google basicly turning into big Brother, any suggestions on free email services.?

My main email has always been Google. But with the latest blatent steps toward big brother and serious Privacy infringements. Ie posting everyones email contacts in Buzz without asking ect. And the fact that they hold emails for years. I think it is time to find another service. I want to stay away from the big ones because I think it is all about collecting private info. After years of trying to remain off the radar so my ex(Under restraining orders due to attempted murder conviction for trying to kill me) can not find us. Now I find that my name(luckily it is only my nick name) and address is showing up in google and since I intentionally never have any public informaton put in my name, The only way it could show up is if they are useing my registration info. Not to mention my daughters picture was posted on google maps when she was playing in her own yard, and they refuse to remove it even when I send copies of the restraining orders and explain how they are endangering my children.

I am staying away from Yahoo for private emails.

Any suggestions for a good small free company away from Big Brother

  • Do birth parents think about the children they Give Up.?

Today is my 41st birthday. Every year on my birthday I have a hard time. Most of the year, I have long since resolved not to let this hurt me, because I have a wonderful life. But the fact is it is very difficult to be my age and not know what ethnicity you are or where your family came from. I get sick of scralling ADOPTED across the family history section of medical papers. And going through unnecessary medical tests because they have to assume that I am at risk for everything. When my children ask what ethnicity we are I get tired of saying I just don't know.

On my birthday it all seems to come to the forward of my mind, I can't help but wish I at least knew where I came from. I was born in New York which is basicly a burn the records state. New York not only seals records but changes birth dates and basic info to insure you can never contact your biological parents. I got my non-identifying information but of the little information(no medical history what so ever) that was in the record at least one thing was a blatant lie. It said I was my biological parents oldest child. But I was raised with my biological brother who is 2 years older than me. (I was offered for my parents under family preservation to adopt, because they had already adopted my brother) So I doubt all the information in the paperwork.

Do Birth parents think about the kids they give up. Do they ever wonder. For every 300 adoptees looking to connect with their Birth Parents it seems like there is only one birth parent who wants to connect. It is kind of sad. Because most of us are not looking for a "family" but just some answers. To understand about our ancestory and medical history better.
