I just got my dad's winchester model 94 .30-.30 to use for this deer season. He has kept it in a gun cabinet with a few other guns but it's not moisture controled so the gun had a little bit of rust that I could see. Any way I completely dissassembled the thing and as far as internal parts they are great considering this gun was made in 1973. But the outside, the blueing has tiny rust spots if you look close under a lamp. I cleaned it inside and out (6hrs total work)but the pits are still there. Anyone know how to get rid of the pits? I'm sure I'll have to take the thing apart again and strip and reblue it. But I keep rubbing it down with an oil soaked rag and I'm getting a little off at a time. The gun looks great until you hold it under a light and are close. Just keep rubbing(pun intended) or after this deer season reblue it? P.S. I hate having to reblue guns but if I have to I will do it for this one cuzz i'm going to have it for a long time till my kids get it when I'm gone.

Me and my wife had 2 cats one was 6 1/2 yrs old and the other was 2 1/2. Well the 6 1/2 died in my arms on labor day the cause is unknown. The vet (that was @#$%^&* CLOSED for the holiday) thinks that either he had heart problems or a tumor that they didn't know about(we get them regular check ups). Anyway yesterday we got a kitten because the 2 yr old seems depressed. Well he was pissed about the kitten. He wouldn't let us touch him at ALL, he hissed and growled at the kitten. He's NEVER done this to any animal he's been around he'd snuggle up with a bear if it would let him. We ended up taking the kitten back to be with it's mom because my wife couldn't handle the 2 yr old being mad at her so soon after we lost the 6 yr old. I think it was too soon for her more then the 2yr old but I don't know. Will he ever let us get another cat or possibly a dog once my wife is better? What can I do for him? Just give him time like I'm doin with my wife?

My wife hates guns we've argued about them alot. I own two pistols right now and if anything happens to my dad I'm supposed to inherit 8 until my brother and sister get old enough that they want one or two. Any way I like to shoot targets and plinking I try to get her to go with me but she either says yes then comes up with an excuse as to why she can't go or she just says no. But then she askes me all these questions about the targets I bring home to put in my shooting journal. I don't know if she's interested or if she's just trying to seem interested. How do I get her to join me?

My shooting journal for those that don't have one or know what it is. It is a book that I have targets attached to pages that list weather, wind speed/direction, the gun/ammo i'm using, and rounds fired.

I'm looking for a good gun cleaner that isn't so strong smelling it'll knock you out. I like the Otis cleaning stuff but it's hard to come by unless I order it online. Blue wonder, I have to order too but if it smells better or atleast doesn't smell as bad as everything else i've tried i'm going to get it.
