We recently had an old pantry converted to a laundry room at the rear of our house. The basement foundation does not extend to this pantry, there is a dirt floor under the room with a very small crawl space. Never had issue in the past, but since it got cold a foul musty smell seems to be coming from the floor.

I'm trying to get the contractor to come back and see if I can get him to fix the problem, but wanted to see if anyone on here had any idea what needs to be done to resolve the issue?

One of the walls is my basement and the other three walls are concrete that match the foundation. (Very small crawl space into one wall under back porch) The pantry never had heat and there was a solid door. To help keep the room heated we opened the doorway to be part of the hallway that is heated. Anyway contractor finished the room in October and house began smelling when weather turned very cold. (New York State) It's coming from laundry room and I am guessing it's due to the wet earth that is now being heated through the floor.

Last week switch wouldn't turn off living room ceiling light. Then the other day a light in my room wouldn't turn off. Today another light in my room want out and just turned back on. No flickering lights or any other issues so far. This has happened over the course of a week. What could cause three light fixtures in different room to have these issues? Seems unlikely it not related.

I am employed full time, but my current employer is in the process of being bought out by another company. It will take a while for the sale to go through, but there is a chance that I will be layed off at some point during the process. I've decided to get a part time job in addition to my full time job to help save more money in case I am let go.

I've been researching NY Unemployment Laws and if I have a part time job working 5 days a week then I will not be eligible for unemployment even though the part time job would pay about 1/4 the amount I would get from unemployment (Which is less then half of what I would be making at my full time job).

My question is if I quit my Part Time job the same day I was laid off at work, would I still be able to collect Unemployment benefits. I wouldn't want to use Unemployment if I could find a full time job, but at the same time I wouldn't want to be cut off from it if I really needed it. Please only answer if you have some knowledge or experience that is relevant.

I'm not a theater buff so I have no idea if these are good seats. I know they had seats for mez and rear mez as well. I was just wondering if anyone has sat in this area and were the seats any good.

I'll be taking my family on a trip to DC/Baltimore in a few weeks and we were looking at restaurants. We are not into the big chain restaurants and we are looking for something with a good atmosphere. We love places that have historical significance and/or places that are out of the ordinary. Where I live Delta has just anounced that they will no longer be handling flights to/from my local airport as of September 2007. About 6 weeks ago I booked through Orbitz for my December flights to/from Orlando. My return flight was from Atlanta to Binghamton (my local airport) via Delta. I called orbitz and they have no information, but the article in the paper specificly stated that flights would be canceled. Has anyone had anything similiar happen to them? Anyone know how this will be handled?
