  • I need a faucet plated. Replating, metal plated...?

I've got a client who wants 2 faucets replaced with identical ones.

I can only get them in chrome.

    They need to be brass.

    Can anyone recommend a place?

I'm on the SF Bay Area, but I'll ship to wherever, with a strong recommendation.

    Thanks for your input.

  • Photo attachment "title" edit?

Using Yahoo Mail and an iPhone, I can (finally) send a photo that magically appears In the body of the letter. However, it has the caption "photo 1. Jp"

Is there any way to change that?

    Thanks

  • How do I change "Sent form Yahoo! Mail for iphone"?

I would like to use a personalized thank you and signature, but I only get the "free advertising" for Yahoo!

Is there a way to disable it and insert my own signature on an iphone 4s?

    Thanks

PS- If this is a dumb question, please excuse me, I'm 56 years old, this is my first smart-phone, and I've only had it for 2 days.

    Thanks again.

  • Is this a single family or multi-family house?

I own a two story house, the upper story (with a separate entrance from the street above) is rented.

    I live in the basement.

As far as Schedule E is concerned, is this a single family or multi-family?

    Thanks

  • My rental property is also my residence.?

I've assumed that it should be prorated on Sch.A and Sch.E, according to the square footage of rentals vs. residence.

If you'd like more detail, I inherited on lot with two buildings. A cottage and a 2-story house.

I rent the cottage and the upper story of the house (separate entrance, shared utilities).

I've used the square footage of the rentals and of my residence to figure my deduction.

    Since you're here,

I've also divided the utilities in the shared house, based on square footage, and deducted the tenants' share. Is that correct?

  • My mortgage company paid my taxes, how do I deduct?

I was behind in my county taxes and my mortgage co. paid them (18K) in October of 2011, I repaid them (monthly, for a year) in 2012. But, according to my 1098's, the taxes were paid during a year I didn't make a whole lot. The next year I made enough to pay them back, but how can I deduct?

I know that there are penalties to pay for being behind in my bills, but I hadn't expected a tax deduction issue to be involved.

    Thanks for your help.

  • Floor Joist Sufficient?

I need help finding out if the floor in the building I work at is capable of supporting a restaurant.

I know an engineer should be hired, but my boss is an architect who thinks he knows.

The question comes in two parts-

1- 2 1/2" x 12" (actual) joists on 16" centers, 16' 6" long, made of 100+ yr. old western wood (presumably San Francisco area lumber). Are they capable of supporting 100 lbs. sq ft. load?

2- If a wall (theoretically non load-bearing, but floor to ceiling, with two floors of apartments above) were put on the floor, parallel to the joist, would the joist underneath it need to be reinforced?

If it makes any difference, the floor will be 4" x 4" ceramic tile, on two layers of 3/4" ply.

Excuse my ignorance, but I can blame it on age and senility or youth and ignorance, depending on how I feel at the moment. What does it mean?

  • ADA advice needed, door-holders?

I'm working on a bathroom, trying to make it ADA & California Building Code compliant. My boss says that he knows the requirements (he's a retired architect), but I've already corrected one mistake he made.

Right now, the issue is the device that holds the door open..

The door has a hydraulic door-closer and a flip-down door holder ((the kind you flip up with your toe or bend down to release.) My brain tells me that won't work, but I can't find any mention of door holders in the books.

    Is there a compliant door-holder?

If possible, where in the codes is this addressed?

    Thanks for your time.

  • has anyone ever seen a 3 minute commercial before? Absolut Vodka did.?

Absolut Vodka saw it and made it. I just saw it (at the end of The Daily Show). I'm still not sure what the message was, other than Absolut Picnic, whatever that is.

    But, a THREE MINUTE COMMERCIAL?

    Wow.

If you've ever seen one (and I'm not talking about infomercials or "campaign ads" masquerading as something else). An honest to goodness commercial.

  • Generac 8515-0 Manuals needed?

    I'm looking for the manuals/schematics for model 8515-0, (85150), serial #0753343

The generac website directs me to "industrial dealers". I would really prefer if I could find them myself.

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

In case it helps, the control boards used are 057358 (Crank Timer) and 063545 (Control Board).

  • I need a fan belt for a Micrometric Precision Key Cutter?

I'm pretty sure the machines are no longer made, but I need a belt for one.

The belt needs to be round, 1/8" or so in diameter and about 10" in circumference.

I've tried all of the vacuum cleaner belts, they don't work.

A large o-ring would probably work, but I haven't found one that large.

    Can anyone help?

    Thanks

  • I need to buy a "basic" dvd recorder?

I just (finally) got a security camera setup for a rooming house/hotel I work for.

I need a dvd recorder to record portions of the recordings for the police.

Don't get me wrong, it's an ok place, but, when things happen. I need to get them stopped, quickly.

I'll feed from a video and audio output.

I'll do all editing with the security system.

If I can hit "record", "pause record", "continue recording", that's perfect.

If the only option is to record one "take", that's life

It needs to have a video in, a video out, ditto for audio.

    That's it!

Can anyone recommend a good, cheap product?

    Thanks

  • Cleaning very dirty AC condensor coils?

Help! I was working in a deli today, when they asked me to check out the AC.

I found the bad thermostat, but, in the course of my testing, I discovered that the air filter had been removed many years ago and now caked-on dust, dirt and grease (it's in a kitchen area).

The only access is a 3" round hole in the ducting.

I'm hoping someone can recommend a spray that will help loosen it.

I've got brushes, but this stuff is tough!

Any questions, just ask, I'll update the question.

  • My landlord didn't sign 60 day notice?

I have been given a 60 day notice to vacate. No reason was given, just a request to vacate.

I have been a tenant at this building (in California) for 11 years.

    My question revolves around this-

My landlord didn't sign the notice, it was signed by the manager "for" the landlord.

    Is it still legal?

    Thank You

  • I signed a loan agreement, now they want to change it?

I bought a used Nissan truck from a Honda dealership. I put $3,000 down and signed an agreement for 72 months at $220.90 per month. I got a call today, six days later, saying they couldn't finance the loan at that rate, but could for $17 more per month.

Can they do that? That's another $1,200!
