Were the Duggar's ever on any kind of public assistance, like food stamps or welfare?
I know they're well off now, having several businesses and a TV show, but I've heard that in the beginning, they relied on welfare in the early days.
I'd like answers backed up with a verifiable source.
2 AnswersPolitics6 years agoWhat questions should I ask a potential employer who will be replacing my current employer, but wants to keep me on board?
I am currently an employee with a major corporation, servicing a contract with one of their customers. Some time soon, another company will be taking over the contract, but the customer wants to keep me on board, so they are considering keeping me on through a staffing company. What questions should I ask before agreeing to sign on?
1 AnswerOther - Careers & Employment6 years agoHow can I stop someone from stalking me on Yahoo Comment sections?
Someone is harrassing me on the Yahoo news comments section. Their comments are typically rude and vulgar, and not realated to the topic at hand. I've muted this person, but they apparently still follow me to every post I make and are posting crass, demeaning or outright false things about me. This makes it very difficult to carry on a normal conversation with other commenters when every time I post, there are 2-3 disgusting attacks by this person. Is there a stronger measure I can take besides muting them from my sight? Is there a way to prevent them from seeing my posts anymore?
5 AnswersYahoo Answers6 years agoCan police threaten you with a dog bite?
I saw a video where a law enforcement officer with a K9 unit was confronting protesters and threatened one of them to "stay back or you'll get bit."
Is that legal? Can a K9 officer 'brandish' a dog like a weapon?
2 AnswersLaw Enforcement & Police7 years agoIs it fair to call the ACA a bipartisan effort?
During the year-long negotiations, it was not just Democrats designing the Affordable Care Act. There was a lot of input from the right and concessions from the left. I also remember a lot of special deals for conservative 'blue-dog' Democrats that made the ACA even weaker and less of a good deal than it should have been.
Then, once all these right wing ideas and changes were in the bill, none of the Republicans voted for it.

I've always heard the state referring to prosecuting people as adults or children, never as an adolescent.
3 AnswersLaw & Ethics8 years agoHave you ever used the Craftsman tool-replacement guarantee?
I have a pair of hand-cutters that are at least 10-years old. They don't sell this specific model anymore, so how do they determine what to replace it with?

2 AnswersLaw Enforcement & Police9 years agoWhat is the best place to invest my money for the future?
I'm getting started a little late in the game, as I'm in my late thirties. Where is the best place to start investing money for retirement? CD's, IRA, Roth IRA, Bonds, Gold?
I'm essentially looking for the best return on investment without a ridiculous amount of risk.
4 AnswersInvesting9 years agoFor how long can a bank re-open your closed account?
I recently closed a checking account at Bank of America, and later discovered that once your account is closed and the money is removed, if an automatic payment or credit hits the account, the bank will re-open it without your knowledge. This means they can apply any overdraft fees or other charges, and you may not know about it until months later when you get a gigantic bill. How long after an account is closed can they do this? Forever?
2 AnswersPersonal Finance9 years agoHelp! I'm looking for a source for a movie quote.?
Amongst a long list of memorable quotes, I found one that is unattributed. I'm fairly certain it's from a movie or TV program, likely a period piece, but I cannot seem to find the source.
The quote is:
"Stopping your life won't bring her back. She loved life. She loved yours. By cutting yours off she dies again."
Can anyone help?

1 AnswerOther - Electronics1 decade agoDid John McCain really force his neighbors to sign an agreement not ot talk to him?
I heard about a story on the radio which said that a few years ago, before McCain and his wife moved into a condominium development, the McCains allegedly had the other residents, their erstwhile neighbors, sign a document that said they would not talk to them or acknowledge them.
I've tried researching the story , but was unable to find a source. Has anyone heard this story, or even better, can anyone point to a source to verify?
6 AnswersLaw & Ethics1 decade agoCan an employer force two employees to share a hotel room on business trips?
What I'm looking for is a legal or conclusive source that one could refer to when contesting such a policy. I realize that policies differ from company to company, I'm just looking for lawful precedent. I scoured the Dept. of Labor website and found it ambiguous.
14 AnswersLaw & Ethics1 decade agoEver hear of a hurricane travelling in the wrong direction?
Several years ago, I 'm sure I heard a news report about a hurricane that was travelling in a westerly direction. I remember this because hurricanes always travel west to east, and this was a rare anomaly, but I cannot seem to find any news stories or scientific articles on it. Does anyone remember what year this occurred, or the name of the storm? Just looking for some specific details.
