  • Saw a snake today, wondering what it was. (In Connecticut)?

It looked like a giant rope of brown dog poop, which is what I thought it was until it moved. I could not see its head or tail but it had at least 1 stripe of yellow or beige around its body (not along the length and not around its neck). I searched for pictures of local snakes, can't find any that look like that. It was in some reeds by a pond and was probably 3 feet long. Just curious.

  • Lung cancer in cats?

My cat has a mass in his lung, most likely cancer. He is almost 14. The only treatment option we have is to take out his lung which I feel would be cruel at his age. Right now he has no outward symptoms.

Has anyone else gone through this? What can I expect? My other cat died last year of a heart attack brought on by congestive heart failure, and it seems that this cat's symptoms will be similar from what others have said: lethargy, labored breathing.

Of course when he gets really sick I will put him to sleep, but I'd like him to have some quality time with us in the interim (however long that may be--any ideas?)

(Anyone who responds with hate will be reported.)

  • Nine Inch Nails Year Zero-anyone notice anything weird about the CD itself?

Not the packaging, not anything that plays on it, but the actual CD itself is strange. I'm wondering if it's just mine.

First person who knows what I'm talking about get the prize; if no one knows the question goes away.

  • SBC/Yahoo Browser conflict with IE7--need the sign-in menu!?

We have many SBC/Yahoo IDs at work and use the SBC/Yahoo browser (version 5.03.02.409) for checking email because of the wonderful drop-down "sign in" menu which saves all our various log-in info for 1 click ID switching. However I tried to upgrade to IE 7 as the Yahoo site now reccomends (their separate browser doesn't seem to be available anymore). This new "optimized by Yahoo" IE doesn't have the sign-in menu and it makes the old SBC browswer crash. Is there another way/place to get an official Yahoo add-on which will easily remember ALL our IDs and passwords? (Not the password savers built into browsers or 3d party spyware filled add-ons). I ended up uninstalling IE7 to get my SBC browser back for email.

***Please do NOT answer by saying there's no such thing as a Yahoo/SBC browser. It used to be available for those who had their Internet service through SBC.***

  • Why is bigamy/polygamy illegal?

If a man has the material means and desire to support two or more families, and the families are agreeable to sharing the husband, why is it wrong? Isn't it better for the man to care for his extra family rather than throw them aside? (For that matter, why shouldn't a woman have two or more husbands?)

Please do NOT quote any religious texts or cite morality as the reason. I want to know LEGALLY why it shouldn't happen.

  • Sensual versus Sexual: does it bother anyone else that the words are used interchangeably?

I can't stand it when I'm reading a book and the author uses "sensual" as kind of toned-down word for "sexual" as in, "She walked sensually across the room."

Sensual means it involves all the senses. Sex might be sensual, but sensual can also be a beautiful plate of strawberries in cream, eaten while listening to beautiful music.

Or should I just give up like I have with explaining that people can't get "aggravated", only "annoyed"?

  • Does anyone else think the first eposide of the Sopranos was mostly worthless? (spoiler)?

Why did they introduce that new character, make him the focus of the episode and get rid of him? And the whole set-up with the blood on the map...a dead end if the shooter's dead. I don't understand it. Any thoughts?

Although the ending was a TOTAL surprise! Did anyone see that coming!?

  • Things to do in Las Vegas that aren't gambling or drinking?

I have to go there for a wedding in July. Are there any Native American or spiritual things to do out there? Or things that are just fun/interesting? (Preferably NOT stuff oriented toward children.) I won't have a lot of money to spend.
