I have a two-dimensional discrete time Markov Chain and I wish to find the steady-state probabilities of the chain. I have searched for publications that go through a detailed analysis, even for a a very simple 2D MC, but i have not found any so far! Does anyone have an idea of how to go about this?

I need to know the result of the following sum:

sum[ x^n / (k-n)! ] for n=1 to infinity,

k is a constant positive integer, k>n

x is constant, 0<x<1

I know that sum[ x^n / n! ] for n= 0 to infinity is e^x, still I cannot get the result of the sum mentioned above. Any ideas?

i'm trying to find the optimum number of repeaters for a total distance of 5000KM. when i searched for repeater prices online, i didn't find information about any distances.. so, if i use 10 repeaters , would the repeater cost the same as if i used 20?

i just saw this movie on DVD, and i LOVED it. it introduces Guevara's trip around Latin America, based on Guevara's book of the same title.. i loved everything, the story, the actors, the scenes, the dialogue .. the soundtracks... everything..

i'm an electronics engineer, and we just have these amounts of old cell-phones which became useless after the new elegant generation of phones came. i thought that maybe they could be converted to some other devices .. any ideas ?

i really got tired of searching for titles amoung the websites i know, and p2p programs i got are so full of mp3's, games and movie crap.. but when i try to get me something serious, i can find nothing!!

sometimes people just comment coz they really don't have answers. sometimes you just find smart experienced people who can give you real help. what happens more frequently with you ??
