Im not sure if this is a Scottish thing or not. Sometimes when you go to a hairdressers they may ask what side is your shed. Which means what side does your hair go or what side does your hair sit. But I was wondering where does the word shed come from or how did it start.

I know it's a bit early, but I want to be prepared. Last year when I was bringing in the outdoor lights, a set of which is path lights, I noticed a few of the holders that stake into the grass were broken. I tried to get a hold of new holders last year, but as Christmas was past I couldn't get anything and Im having the same problem now. Can anyone help, does anyone know where I would get holders to hold up these lights they go along the edge of my lawn, or if they can think off anything I could use. Many thanks

My husband fell out with his mum on the 2nd of January this year. I was not there as I had gone home unwell. There was a few niggles with her that night and then she blew up and shouted at our daughter who is 9yrs old and she was crying and he told his mum not to talk to her that way and it went mad. I didn't get involved still spoke to her and the other day it was her birthday and my husband didn't know what he wanted to do. He then txt me and asked if I would get a card and put money in it and drop it off, which I did. But yesterday we saw her in her daughters car and we waved and spoke to my sister in law and my mother in law ignores me and my daughter. My husband is raging and sent her a txt saying she hasn't bothered with us and even though she knows her grand daughter was getting bullied at school she never called once to she how she was. What do you think. Do you think we should cut all ties. It not the first time she has been mean to our daughter.

The other day I read a story in the news. I think it was on yahoo about 2 women, who were twins and from Sweden or Switzerland who were walking down the centre of the motorway . They were then stopped by Police only then for one then the other to run out in front off the traffic and knocked down. But I can't find anything about it and starting to think I may have imagined it as I was telling my brother about it. My daughter who will be 9yrs old in November has had a shawl since the day she was born and on the shawl was a ribbon that she twirled in her fingers. Over the years she has gone through 9 shawls all made by a friend of my elderly aunt, though noe the lady is unable to knit anymore and I am on the last shawl. I have been looking every where for a knitting pattern for a thick round baby shawl but can't get one any where. Can anyone help, my daughter is in panic mode as the present shawl is getting a bit thin and she can't sleep without it.

I was out with my daughter who is nearly 9 years old and my husband today. We were having pizza when she said she was very sweaty and had look and was very surprised by the strong body odour smell, one she is quite young and two she had a bath in the morning. Im not sure why this has started, although she did have a few yellow head spots on her forehead last week. But what made me rule out puberty is that she has not developed in any other area. Also I don't know if I should start to use a deodorant on her or is she too young for that. Can anyone help please.

I have been on Champix for nearly 4 weeks now and stopped smoking for 13 days . It hasn't been easy as they have made me very tired, and also unable to sleep at night. I phoned the stop smoking group and they have said I can cut down from the 1mg tablet to the .5mg tablet at night but I have to contact my doctor to change the prescription. It is a few days before I can get an appointment and was wondering if it would be ok to half a 1mg until such time I can see my doctor. Has anyone else did this or does anyone know if this will be ok to do. Thanks

I had posted the other night about the best way to grout wall tiles and thank you to all that replied. My husband has now siliconed the bath but has got some on the tiles and it looks a bit off a mess. Has anyone got and good ideas and how to remove the silicon. Thanks

I am having to re grout some wall tiles in the bathroom, as the grout had cracked a bit even though the job was only done a week ago by a tiler. I'm not sure if I am supposed to apply the grout wit a dry or a damp sponge, also what direction to go when doing it. can anyone help please.

Can anyone help, I broke my toe on Sunday and went to A&E where it was x-rayed and strapped up. But I forgot to ask how long I should keep it strapped up for it is the big toe on my right foot. Can anyone give me the answer. Thank you

Last night my little girl who is 8 years old was sitting on my knee for a cuddle, and she likes me to play with her hair. Suddenly I noticed a long, wirey grey hair at the side off her head. I was a bit shocked and have never heard off anyone that young with grey hair. Has anyone else seen or heard off it. Does anyone know what it means and if she is likely to go grey very early
